CM question - might be TMI sorry!

Hi,

We are ttc blue (although havnt actually started trying yet, just been following diet and taking supplements for 3 months so far), I have a question about CM and it might be a bit gross sorry in advance!

I have never had much CM and what i did have tended to be thick. Our first baby was a girl and I suppose looking back I had an environment more suited to having a girl.
Since changing a few things in my diet (drinking just club soda with lemon, or water, taking sups including fish oil, lots of salt etc) I have noticed that around ovulation I get LOADS of CM, however, I dont get a lot in my pants if that makes sense, I just notice it when i've been to the loo and swipe (the tissue looks full of snot basically! - I told you TMI!))

Anyway, is that what most people experience? or should I be seeing it in my pants? Im wondering how I can check the ph? Is it ok to put a h testing strip onto the 'snot' blob on the tissue or could this be contaminated with other things? I dont like the idea of trying to locate my cervix and plce a strip directly on it to read the ph, is there another way?

Well I'm a newbie myself, if I can advise!! I've always read that you need to wipe after loo and whatever you get thats the CM which should be considered or taken directly. I'm not checking my ph as I've been advised not to get obsessed with ph as its stressful!

thanks for the reply. I didnt realise that swapping pop for club soda with lemon would make so much difference, but I seem to have loads since doing that. Just hope its the right PH! I suppose whatever the ph, more is better than less? ;-)

Hi, I have 2 boys myself, and obviously ttc a girl...always struggling with loads of 'snot' like stuff in the panties lol tmi...but my point being is that when I am on the girl diet I don't have this prob. so it looks like what you are consuming is really helping produce that for you and that's great for ttc a boy.

I do have a silly question what is the difference between club soda and pop?? I just know that when I was on the girl diet and drinking diet pepsi or diet coke and anything sugary or w/ asparteme I would produce more watery mucus, but the ph was still pretty low (4-6.0) as opposed to when i had my boys (lots of thick stringy mucus all the time)..hope that helps.

First of all, don't try to place a strip on your cervix. pH does not have that much influence on gender.
If you want to check your pH, put a finger in vj, hook it and that mucus would be the specimen you apply on pH strip.

What I would advise to you is to use Pre-Seed, you can find lot's of threads about CM and Pre-Seed. Try in The Complete Index

I believe its the fish oil that gives you plenty of ewcm. Its fine if it doesn't come out into your pants, as long as it is in the vaj it is great for a boy sway.

All I can say is no wonder I have boys :suprise: I thought everybody had that cause it is my normal! Sometimes around O I wear a small pad/liner!! I hate it!

As a boy mum myself I certainly know when I ovulate that's for sure!!! ( unlike some of my girl mums) like rainbow most times when I ovulate I have to use a panty liner. Last month somehow I managed escape having much cm at all I think due to diet but this cycle it was back.

And this is probably the reason why I have a DD!!! I honestly have never had much CM in my undies or when I wipe...and even taking fish oil and drinking green tea and grapefruit juice really doesn't seem to help...sigh. The thing is, I have gotten PG the 1st try both times we have tried, so I am obviously fertile, maybe just one of those who's body keeps it in rather than seeping out? Who knows...I don't drink any pop, just lots of lemon water and a little bit of juice, here is to hoping I see some this month.

Well from your initial post it sounds like you have a LOT more CM now than you did with your girls right?
AS may be able to correct me here. But I don't think you need undies loads of cm to create a little man.
The change is already significant enough for you to see!
But I can understand how you are worried. Myself having boys and a lot of CM, I'm starting to wonder if ill ever stop producing as much CM as I do now.
Do girl mums really have no CM? I honestly can't imagine life without it.

Im also from the uk and have 3 girls desperate for a boy. Reading through the posta about cm to be honest I do get this around ov but its never as much as some of the boy mummies have described! Is cod liver oil supplements the same or similar to the fish oil you are mentioning on here?

If you still don't have much try preseed.

You don't need to see it in/on your undies, having it when you wipe is fine.

We have seen so many pH opposites in both directions, I'm not sure you need to bother - if you have MORE htan you did have, that's all you need to worrya bout.

If you check the blobby stuff that has come out, it will be lower in pH than the stuff up by your cervix, so if the stuff you can reach is ok for pH (above 6) then it's all good, it would be higher at the cervix - hope that makes sense.

No, cod liver oil has some of the same stuff in it but has some vitamins that may be too high a dose to be safe when TTC.

club soda actually has baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) IN it. Seltzer water and reg. pop do not have baking soda. Some people believe that drinking small amounts of baking soda can create a certain type of "ion" in your cervical mucus that helps a blue sway (I don't, but it's fine to drink club soda when swaying blue anyway)

Evening primrose oil and fish oil made ALL the difference for me. I went months on the diet and fertile cm without much change. But last month I added the epo and fish oil and had loads of ewcm.....and I got pregnant! Good luck ladies!

thank you to all who have replied! This month we are going to tic! Its our first month of trying after doing as blue friendly-a-diet as possible for 5 months. I ov in 6 or 7 days so am drinking LOADS of water and lemon juice beforehand for as much EWCM as possible :-)

I always have creamy white or yellow thick cm during O it turns to ew with a white sring inside .but only have this for few hours
