Someone Please help!!!
I have been seeing partial ferning on my saliva microscope for the past 3 days, but have tested negative on my OPK's (this morning's OPK is still negative)...yesterday's temp was 97.78 and this morning 97.20 (I did test about 45 min earlier...I had to pee really bad) what should I do, husband has abstained for 8 says now? I'm I about O? My cervix feels medium and it's still not high...should test with another OPK this night? BTW I'm on CD12 TIA
-
I would continue to test.
How old is your DH?
Taking your temp at a different time will throw off your readings. I used to use a converter, but some people don't think theyre accurate...my feeling was - neither is the temp I took out of my usual time frame...lol.
Do you usually get a temp drop before O?
-
You can either have an attempt with the understanding that you are prob. going to have a cutoff (and shouldn't use antihistamine) or else keep testing and wait till pos OPK. I don't like relying on today's temp which may not even be accurate due to your getting up earlier. You may be having temp dip today but then again maybe not.

Thanks ladies, my dh is 31 (will be 32 next month). We are planning on Abstain w/ one attempt at positive OPK. I'm only using Folic Acid, Fibre, Rephresh (every 3 days) and Aspartame...is this too much Atomic? I just went to the store to buy more OPK's so I will test again this night..is it better to test late or early morning? Also Atomic I would love to get a BFP this month because I can't afford to loose anymore weight (106 lbs) should I continue with abstain and attempt at positive OPK or Abstain attempt at Positive OPK with FR? TIA

Well, I can't totally tell you what to do, but one attempt has been getting way better results than frequency or jelly has, so when it comes to getting pg, I think it's best to drop frequency and jelly before one attempt. My advice would be nix the RepHresh, switch to having hubby do reg. release every 2-4 days, and have one unprotected attempt at pos OPK.
you need to eat more cals!!! Omega 6 fats like margarine, shortening, corn oil, and empty carbs are best (unless you have PCOS in which case you should get more cals from fruit/veg/wholegrains and up protein intake just a bit)
-
ok, thanks...I do eat a lot of carbs...white rice, vege's and tons of fruit lol
-
All I can say is that Ferning has always been unreliable to me. I would trust the OPK's before any ferning test.
I am also going heavy on the carbs, not much fruit though as it's winter and carbs are all my body wants right now. Still trying to stick to under 1500 cals a day though.
Crossing my fingers you get your little girl.

Thank aidasmum, I'm starting to lose faith on the ferning...I had partial ferning for about 5-6 days and now 2 days of nothing at all..lol. I'm still using my OPK's as back up. ..Right now I'm sticking to 1600 calories because I'm soing the 60 min cardio route. Hope you get your little girl too :)

If you're doing the exercise you can totally up cals!!! :)
I jsut don't want to risk stopping ovulation.
-
What do you think is the max 1800? while still keeping everything or up to 2000?
-
up to 2000 and if weight is still coming off, you may need to even go beyond that. at some point metabolism will drop and the weight will stop coming off tho
-
Thanks Atmoic one more question...what's the max on protein and fat intake while doing 1800-2000 calories? Right now I do anywhere between 40-50g of protein and 30-40g fat.
-
It's the same. So the trick is that you are still keeping protein and fat low, but you are getting more cals from carbohydrates. Some people do want to up fat proportionally (we aim for keeping 20-30% of our day's cals from fat) so between 40 60 g fat. But you don't necessarily have to do this. If you're happy with lower fat than that and you're ovulating normally, it's fine to have a bit less than the 20-30% range. If you do want to up fat, the Omega 6's are better for your sway (margarine, shortening, corn oil)
Note - For anyone with PCOS this advice does not apply to you, you should not be eating as many carbs as those without PCOS do.
