12 weeks, 5 days and tech guessed boy....can you weigh in??

Thank you all for guessing. I've been reading up on nub theory like crazy since my ultrasound yesterday, and it seems like there is a sizable contingent of people who say nub guesses cannot be trusted as much as I might have thought...I basically thought by 12.5 weeks I had about a 2-3 percent chance of a boy nub guess being wrong. I tallied about 20 people in a fairly brief google search who wrote about their boy nub guess being wrong, and many others that I didn't count saying their girl guesses turned out as boys. The other picture I downloaded especially gives me pause, the one that shows the full body, because that one makes the nub look so straight.

Being that this is my very last baby and having a dd is a long-term dream of mine, I'm having a little bit of a hard time giving up hope, even though I'm trying to be realistic. Looking at this pictures, could you (honestly but gently) tell me how you'd classify my baby's nub:

A: This is a completely textbook boy nub, I think you're right to give this only a 2-3 percent chance of a girl.

B: Stranger things have happened, but I couldn't really see this turning out to be a girl (90-95 percent sure this will be a boy)

C: Babies are still forming and changing at this age, I'd say you have a fairly decent chance this could still be a girl (75-80 percent sure of boy)

D: I really wouldn't put too much stock in this nub guess, it truly could go either way (60-75 percent sure of boy, or less)

Thank you for indulging me. I'm driving myself a little crazy with the uncertainty of it, at this point I'm almost wishing I would have waited until 18 weeks or so, to eliminate the ambiguity.

It does look like a boy. I'm sorry it doesn't look more girly.

3littleladies...I'm so glad you said that! I have two similar pictures like this that show the full body, and both of them make the nub look more girly. But that last shot is hard to ignore, but the baby is lying at an angle so I wonder if the nub is a little deceiving. As I said before, I think I'm grasping at straws, but I can't help but question things when I look at those two profile shots where it shows the full body...and I can't help but be a little hopeful when it's my very last chance!

The last pic does look very boyish....but you never know, stranger things have happened!! Congrats on baby number 4 :)

I guess I'd say (C). I do think it's about 80% likely it's a boy. I don't even see a "girly" nub on the first pic, so I can't weigh in on that. But I think it's prudent to think this baby is a boy. Just to prevent having your hopes up for the 18 week scan. But I wouldn't go painting rooms or buying stuff off this scan. 20% still leaves room for it to be a girl.

I'm really not sure. I can't see a nub in your first picture, and the second one does looks more boyish than girl, but I think baby is at an angle and it isn't a full body shot. If I were you I would prepare to hear boy and if its wrong then that is a wonderful surprise.
I was convinced we were having our third baby boy, and my babys 13 week nub had pretty mixed guesses. I spent quite a lot of time looking for confirmed boy nubs that looked the same, just to convince myself further as I didn't want to hope at all that we could be having a girl as I was worried about feeling disappointed. Anyway, it turns out we are having a girl.

So I will also say option C because I think its better to prepare to hear boy.

I'm sorry it took me so long to remember to update, but I had to share that despite the strong boy nub guesses, our baby turned out to be a little GIRL! She is two months old and it was the most wonderful surprise of our lives to find out she was a girl in the delivery room, as we did not ever verify gender. My heart feels so complete and I wish all of you the very best with your gender dreams!
