My name is Brittney, I am the mommy of two perfect little boys. I am sitting here writing this with a lump in my throat and a pain in my heart. My husband and I have dreamed of having a little girl since we where high school sweethearts. Ten years and two boys later, that little girl I once dreamed of seems harder and harder to see. I was told my first son was a girl from 18-22 weeks. I bonded with a little girl, picked out her name and bought her pretty dresses. When my second son was clearly a boy at 16 weeks my heart broke, I cried for weeks. At the time I thought I was just a horrible mother for not being able to love the perfect baby boy God blessed me with. I didn't learn that gender disappointment and depression was something that many people suffered from. We took the first step towards PGD IVF today and called a infertility specialist. What we found out it that there is no way we will be able to afford to go forth with it. As my husband is sure he does not want more then three children we have only one last chance to balance our family. I don't know what else to say. I hope I can lean on you all throughout this and find peace somehow.

H there. I'm so sorry you are down. HRC is in California and around $14,000. Is that way outside what you can do? Can you get a zero interest credit card? Where there's a will, there's a way.

Im so sorry for your heart ache, gender disappointment is very real & a lot of us go through it, Ive been there myself when I really wanted my 3rd to be a boy.

We had about $10000-$15000 max to spend. I'm sorry I don't know what HRC is? Can you please explain. I very new to all of this.

HRC is a clinic in California and Dr Potter is one of our Ask The Experts on here. It is a popular destination for people. The success rates are very good and they are at the forefront of testing and gender selection.

Welcome and goodluck :) I too long for a daughter and am lucky that my partner has agreed to go one over our number (3) to try and get her. We wont try for a while though because life is busy enough and it seems like such a long time to wait/put my dream in limbo.
I want to do high tech so badly since it is our last chance at my dream of a daughter. I really don't want to be one of those people who sways hard and is not one of the lucky ones who has to learn to move on, it scares me. I just want her, why can't I just have her. We can not afford HT but I still want to find out more to see of it is possible.

Nuthin but pink- That free consultation with Dr. Potter, can you do it online/skype/phone? Would it be possible to only have to go overseas once? Living so far away from anywhere that does HT makes it so much more expensive.

I am having a hard time with Gender Desire lately and have felt it all day since meeting a Mum with a 7 week old baby girl after two sons. Seeing that combo is the worst because that is what I always thought I would have.

That is my biggest fear as well. Swaying hard and still not having her. I honestly feel like someone is missing from our family. :sad:

Same, it is such a strong desire that I feel like she is missing too. I imagine my wonderful sons and her playing together as the perfect completed family. My oldest even asked for a sister the other day. I love your profile pic btw.

He does Skype consults, yes.

You'd need to be there for around 12 days if you can do local monitoring where where you live. He will discuss all of that in the consult!
