Who can educate me.. from Australia?

I'm planning on TTC :DD: toward the end of the year or next year and am still deciding whether I sway or not, or rather, how much swaying I will do.
I just need all the 'correct' info I can get, and kind of needed it broken down to me so I can understand it :oops: It all gets a little complex for me at times, not to mention contradicting and then I give up!

As far as I know, I have to diet, take supplements (this I'm really unsure of) & timing.

Reg timing, whats the more successful way: Cut off, all the way through or after O?
Do I DTD every day, once or every second day?
A couple of friends of mine all claim to have conceived their daughters by DTD every second day and then stopping between 2-5 days before O. I'm pretty sure I have read on here that this is not the way to do it?? eeeek... Im so lost!

Please offer any advice, I truly appreciate it all.

I have four girls and could guarantee we conceived them wayy before ovulation as we bd right after af was gone every day, if not every second day lol.

i have 3 girls and we dtd as much as we could,i had no idea about swaying,so we probably did it too far in advance

Neither did I!! Looking back I can now see why I have 4 girls! Unless of course this next one is another girl lol

So, If I DTD every day or every 2nd day from as soon as AF finishes and do a cut off, this may work?

i wonder if you can help me with ph testing kits as i got one but it doesnt seem to show results,is it cos im not ovulating do you think?

If it helps, I know that I dtd on O day with my 2 DS :) I also 'jumped and dumped' and had a 'rich' diet with lots of goodies and baddies hehe.

I think every 2 days is good.. do you ovulate regularly? My husband has protected sex on CD9 and then he abstained for 4 days straight. I was praying to bd on cd 13 so I would hopefully ovulated cd 14 (2-4 days abstainance is best they say) give or take a day.. I did ovulate on cd 13/14!!

I would have protected sex every 2 days and if you ovulate regularly you could try a cut off, or 0+12.

strips of litmus paper i think,it says for saliva only but on this site it says to ignore that and put cm on instead.when i did, nothing happened so im really acidic or ive got the wrong kit....or it wont work unless im ovulating,im confused:think:

I could never get those strips to work!! Low ionic strength apparently. Go to Dick Smith and get a digital one ;)

OR if I am preg this cycle you can buy mine off me, lol

DTD every other day sways blue, it needs to be either every day (or more) for pink, or abstaining for 7+ days and then having one shot at it

I don't think cutoffs sway before O, just maybe give you more time to sort your pH out down there

See this is where I get confused.

Most of my friends have girls and a few have had a girl after multiple boys. All of them claim to have changed nothing but the way they conceived.
They all claim to have DTD on O day with their boys and with their girls, DTD every second day for 5 days prior to O day with at least a 2 day cut off.
Obv gender sites recommend abstaining and DTD once and there is 'science' to back it up..

CONFUSED :(

I would try sex(baby making sex lol) 5 days before O.. and having protected sex every day - every second day leading up to the attempt. BUT I am not technically up to date with girl swaying (ironic I know having 4 myself lol).

Diet is far and away the most important thing. The conflicting info comes when people try and blend all the diff. theories about swaying into one

Timing is a weird thing because there have been several studies and every one of them seemed to find something different. To me, that indicates that timing itself doesn't sway, it is some other factor that sways such as abstinence, which was a part of Dr. Shettles' advice but has not been consistently included in other studies.

My personal belief is that whatever is easiest for you is right for timing. The more worked up you get over timing, the more you risk raising your testosterone levels and this has the potential to wreck even a perfect sway. There are several different timing techniques you can try, this is one area where you have a lot of flexibility. Your friends' plan is fine and it worked for them. One method I like because it seems easy for people and doesn't reduce your odds of pg too far, is having DH abstain, then BD 2 days before ovulation.

For best results you should at least TRY to DTD every single day from AF-cutoff.

Anything MAY work LOL. Please know, that the science indicates that diet is much more important than timing.

pH testing should have nothing to do with ovulation.

If you're not getting results wiht the pH sticks, you will need to go digital. Some people pH sticks don't work on, for some reason.

Just to clarify, TTC5 is trying for a BOY not a girl. So her sway is to get a boy. 2-4 days abstinence between BD is better for a boy, but not good at all for a girl.

For a girl, you would want to BD every day of your cycle or else not BD at all, with a 2 or 3 day cutoff (stopping BD 2 or 3 days before ovulation) and/or go for an O+12.

For TTC pink it's best to either DTD EVERY day or else not at all. If you DTD every 2 days, you only encourage the spermies LOL. You want lower sperm numbers for pink, and higher for blue. DTD every 2 days increases sperm count and vitality, which sways blue.

pH strips don't always work, some people need a digi tester because they have less of whatever it is that the pH sticks pick up on.

You should be able to get a pH reading at any part of your cycle, not only at ovulation, it's just that only your pH around ovulation matters. Everyone's pH is very very low when they have no EWCM, because the natural pH of your vagina is very acidic as a defense against infection. Around ovulation, your cervix will open up to allow conception to take place, and your body starts to produce EWCM and your pH will go up quite a bit to help sperm to survive. So if you have a pH of 4.5 right after AF, that doesn't mean anything to your sway, because you're not going to conceive for 10 days by which point your pH will be a lot higher.

So you can take your pH whenever you like, it's jsut that it only counts at ovulation.

And you can find other people who did everything "right" for a girl and had a boy. All the anecdotes in the world don't count, only studies do, and the studies have not supported the idea that timing matters at all. A LOT of studies have been done on it and they all find something different.

Unless ovulation has been medically confirmed, the anecdotes just don't count. A lot of people ~say~ they BD on a certain day and got their girl because they've heard about Shettles and think that it worked for them, but we have no way of knowing whether they really BD on that day or if they were mistaken on what day they Oed. Not saying that anyone is lying but that people O early or late all the time, or they remember things wrong, and unless we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they really DTD on the CD they think they did, we can't depend on their info. (this also applies to the stats on IG as well)

Oh it's great for people who are just TTC, and anyone with reduced fertility/low sperm count can DTD every two days and get a baby girl, absolutely. But for optimizing our chances of TTC pink, 7-10 days abstinence or VERY frequent BD is best because it lowers sperm count even in guys who are sperm factories!!!
