Since starting the le diet, I've noticed I get heartburn serval times a week. I don't normally get heartburn unless I'm pregnant (which I know for a fact that that is not the case). Is it possible it's caused by the le diet? Is it a good sign that my body is becoming more acidic? Has this happened to anyone else?

Anytime really. But ya I'd say later in the day now that you mention it.
Are you eating lots of sweets?
It's either something you are eating or too much weight. If your BMI is ok, you have to look at what you're eating.
Yes I'm eating sweets but not a ton. My bmi is at the high end of normal I'm 5'2' and 135 lbs and losing weight right now. I haven't added anything to my diet just taking things out. I'm not vegetarian but other than that I eat pretty much like I normally eat but keeping it with in my limits. The only thing that's been added is crystal light and diet Pepsi. I only have one diet Pepsi a day and sometimes some crystal light but not every day. I wonder if this is what's causing it.
I had this issue both times on the LE diet. Turned out to be the hot cocoa packets I was drinking. I wouldn't have connected it until I started drinking the cocoa again in December or so (I'm not technically on the LE diet, just eating more LE) and it started right back up again. So yeah, it could be something as simple as a food you started eating that doesn't agree with you. I just stopped the cocoa and if went away. Don't drink a Pepsi for a day or two and see if it stops. If not, try cutting out the Crystal light and see if that is it. For me, heartburn appears to be related to drinks. I also get it from orange juice, bad!
Peppermint tea is great for heartburn & girl friendly.I used to drink it a lot @ night b4 I conceived dd#1.hth!

are you doing peppermint tea? causes terrible heartburn
Not caused by "becoming more acidic" but some people do get more heartburn when eating more sugary foods.
Leebug i'm glad this worked for you but peppermint causes heartburn for lots of people! It relaxes the little muscle that keeps your stomach shut.Quote:

I think any time you change your diet it can make your tummy go WTH?? Glad it's better.
