I need help w/Clomid..round#3!

Hi ladies, so my round 2 Clomid 21 day progesterone levels came back at 12.6 (Finally I Ov)! Anyways, RN told me that I needed round 3 and that the doctor would decide if he would leave ir at 100mg or up it to 150mg. Now, the issues are that I wanted to skip TTC February (due to birthdays in November IF I ended up with a bfp). Also, this week I droppedmy 1 year worth of 60 min cardio/6 days a wk ;( I know this may sway blue. Also, have been incorporating more chicken in my LE diet (still sticking to it, but with more cheats). Will these changes really hurt my sway? Also, is it a bad idea to skip Clomid this next month and take it March instead? I have a feeling that now that I'm not exercising I might be able to Ov on my own without Clomid..I would love some inputs/opinions on what to do?. Thanks!;)

I think if you want to skip a month, skip a month. What are you doing in regards to timing?

Are you sure when you ovulate on clomid? What BD pattern does the doctor recommend? Every 2 days? With every 4, you could miss it. Has DH had his sperm tested?

nbp-I got a pos opk with this second round on an ic and on digital so it looks like I indeed Ov (my progesterone at 21 days was 12.6). The doctor recommended me to bd everyday starting from cd10-18 ( of course I didn't follow that. The first round on clomid we bd every 4 days with this second round we bd every 3 days with 2 attempts at positive opk. His sperm hasn't been tested as I'm the one that stopped Ov due to super strict LE and intense cardio. That's why I'm concerned now that I have recently dropped the cardio and loosened up on LE.

Well, I'd probably choose to take advantage of the clomid and BD how he tells you to because your attempts with clomid will be limited.

Are they scanning you prior to ovulation to see of there are one or 2 eggs there? I would want a scan this month to see exactly what's happening. At some point you are going to have to have your DH tested to rule him out but if you just started ovulating again you haven't had that many months to get a BFP.

Unfortunately, he doesn't do scanning only 21 day progesterone. What I'm most afraid of is swaying blue now that I've dropped my cardio and loosened up on LE. What do think? Atomic any inputs?

if this is not a good month for you, OF COURSE stop it a month. You don't have to take it constantly if you don't want to - you need to TTC in the months that are best for you. Don't let the doc pressure you into trying, either. The Clomid may even work better if you've had a month off.

As you know I can't totally say, "oh yes that's ok" or "oh no def. avoid that" because those darn crystal ball repairmen never getting my crystal ball fixed. Waht I DO know is that what you were doing before was too strict and not working and so changes needed to be made.

TBH if you're ready to pull the trigger and get pg, the BD pattern advised by your doctor is not going to be the best for that anyway (what if you O on CD 18?? your odds of conception would be super low) so if you're ready to move past the every 4 day + one more attempt pattern, I'd go to SMEP.

I think you need to not worry about that right now especially since you are not even going to TTC next month.

I regret being so hard on myself and on my poor body I never in mylife thought I would loose Ov due to EXTREME changes (lesson learned). Phew! Just what I wanted to hear! I really was scared that I had dropped my cardio (after a year of doing it my body was feeling extremely fatigued). I'm going to continue with my Iron pills and Folic Acid. I'm definitely going to do my best on LE so I won't gain weight and of course have a few cheats. I will accept Clomid, but will not take it till March as that's when I would like to TTC in March hopefully by then my progesterone looks great to support a healthy baby!

Help me spread the word! I think a lot of people think I'm being overly cautious but really this can and does happen to people all the time!! :)

I sure will! every time I see someone post something similar through what I went through I always have to give them my advise as I 'm a great example of "Hard cord swaying" and losing ov for a long time.

Wow really? I didn't know you exercised intensely? Where you still strict with LE when the month you got your bfp?

No, my mistake, I didn't exercise at all but I did the diet far too strictly & lost too much weight. I lost about 2 & half stone (35lb) from Aug '12-March '13 which brought my bmi down to just under 18.5 & stopped my ov in the January. I didn't ov in my first month of Clomid & had to gain 2lb in my second month to restart my ov & get my bfp. I took it to the extreme & tried to cancel out any cheats over Xmas by cutting back even further temporarily. I have learned a lot about myself & while I have no regrets - especially with my sweet ds3! - I know where to improve my next sway ;)

The things we did ( I honestly regret it so bad) :hide: but lesson learned because after I still have no baby in my belly. So when you did Clomid what fays did you take it and what mg? Did you do one attempt at pos opk?

Dreamofpink, please tell me - HOW would you improve your next sway? I'm currently swaying pink (after having two handsome lads) and my BMI has dropped from 20 down to 18 on LE diet (no exercise) and I'm waiting for AF to arrive to get bloods done on cycle day 21 to hopefully get clomid. I'm up to day 39 of my cycle now (after a 28 day cycle last month) so I'm really worried I've taken it too far with the weight loss after reading both your and lovemy2blessings stories. Do think what affected your sway most was the required weight gain on your second clomid cycle? I'm wondering if I can help my situation prior to our first attempt/starting clomid :nails:

It seems like there's such a fine line between having a strong sway and having a sway that goes too far and backfires - it's so hard! :worry:

Flower it looks like you may have lost Ov just like me because of swaying too hard core. My doctor advised me to gain weight and that's exactly what I've done.

Thank you for your reply lovemy2blessings. It's so frustrating to know just last cycle was normal and this one isn't (and I didn't lose anything more during that time).. I'm hoping and praying I can get clomid and that will be enough to bring on Ov. I gained a few kilos to fall with my two boys so I really don't want to do that again if I can avoid it somehow.. Well, at least try another method first. x

Flowergirl, I lost my ov in January '13 & started Clomid in February. Unfortunately for me, Clomid did not bring on ov that month as I had an opk+ around day 19 & af came 3 days later. I think that if your body has shut down due to low bmi nothing will make ov occur. I could be wrong though, that's just IME.

I know that I took it to the extreme & it was more a case of something each month that stopped me from conceiving. FR didn't work for us the first two months, so I dropped it. In the lead up to ov in month 3 we had a hugely confrontational weekend with FIL so I skipped that month on the advice of Atomic due to high T levels. The next month I messed up by trying to relax a bit & missed my ov as I didn't use any opks. I then lost my ov for two months before my bfp. Even though I only gained 2lb I know for sure that I was improving my condition massively. Once I opened the floodgates - so to speak - I ate far too much. It was a mixture of desperation for a bfp & a genuine need for nourishment that drove me on despite staying veggie.

Next time I know that I have to conceive as I'm losing weight not when I'm at my lowest. Also I have to let go a bit as I know that the perfect sway doesn't exist. I know that I had to live it though before believing it. As daft as it may sound I'd have had more regrets if I hadn't thrown everything at my sway & it still produced an opposite. I love my ds3 sooooo much it hurts & I have no regrets. My swaying journey actually started in June '11 when I started the IG diet & timing. I carried on until March '12 when I dropped the diet. I then carried on with a cut off until August '12 when I found this website & started the LE diet. By the time I conceived ds3 I was just desperate for a baby & I truly believe that I had to walk that path in order to become more accepting of him. I had some GD when I found out about him but I was not devastated like I would've been when I started my swaying journey.

I don't want to make you or lovemy2 feel bad about your circumstances but I wanted to be honest about how it turned out for me. Hth :)

2lb is such a small amount to gain - I really do feel like it's such a fine line, it's frightening!

Looking at the LE stats it would make you think that staying on the diet for 21-24 weeks would give you the best possible odds.. I guess I just wish I knew that it's best if you had enough weight to lose otherwise (as opposed to maintaining a low weight after losing it for that period of time) you're actually better going for a shorter sway.. In saying that, some people may lose weight quicker then others I guess?

I'm looking back now and wishing I had our first attempt in Dec when I was still losing, but I talked myself into trying to get "even more prepared".. if only I could turn back time!

Anyway, I guess it's not too late to redeem the situation. I can only see what clomid does for me and I'm thinking if I don't ovulation on that I might reassess TTC for now.
