Mother after 35
Hi for all of you. I’m new to the forum and want to share my story. Unfortunately, we with husband were face to face with infertility. It was awful but we had no time to cry because I’m 36 already and my husband is 39, that’s why we started to act immediately when our doctor made a diagnosis – infertility. We started to search everywhere, we read all information concerning this theme, read books, consulted, forums and articles in the Internet. We spent a lot of time. We live in Italy and some methods of reproductive medicine are forbidden here (methods without which we couldn’t become parents) and we faced one more problem - to find place where it is allowed. I found an article where I’ve read that one doctor in Italy a few years ago cooperated with one European clinic which provide services of egg donation and surrogacy motherhood. I don’t remember exactly what was written there further, I was just surprised that such things exist in our country. I was interested in this because it was our chance. The article was published long time ago but we had a great hope that we’ll find such doctor at our time. Of course, we didn’t completely believe in it because there are a lot of scammers at our time so, we needed to find some real confirmations and evidences. And again we spent a lot of time and strength but finally we found such doctor. From some reasons (because it is forbidden in Italy) I wouldn’t tell names, it doesn’t matter. So, we started our cooperation. For our surprise we found out that we are not alone in this situation, there were other infertility couples which also needed egg donors or surrogate mothers. During our first trip to the European clinic we got acquainted with doctors, I was examined, also we decided all legal points. Doctors decided the medical course and pointed the next appointment. When we came back my doctor controlled the process of stimulation, consulted us concerning all medicines and programs itself. When we go to clinic the second time doctor again examined me and made me embryo implantation, (the donor’s egg was inseminated by my husband’s sperm) I was implanted 3 embryos for the 5th day when my endometrium was 9 mm, in a few days after ultrasound examination doctor said that from 3 embryos 1 “took root”)))). Finally, everything was ok, all couples (there were 8 couples including us) had positive result. And for today’s day we have great, healthy baby.
I share this story because I know how much time it takes to find some useful information and right people. Maybe my post will help someone.

Congratulations on your baby!
-
Thank you very much:flowerz:
-
I’m very glad that there are stories with happy end. You and your husband went through the long and difficult way to achieve your aim and make your dreams come true. I wish everybody has so much courage, strength and persistence as you.
I wanted to ask about your diagnosis: what did your doctor told you? Can’t you use your own eggs without using of donated ones? There is a huge probability that your baby will not look like you and your hubby, but will resemble your donor!
-
I was diagnosed with POF. I don’t worry for the fact that baby will not be similar to me because the donor was matched to me according to my phenotype (with the same eyes and hair color as I have, the same face shape etc.) and my husband’s sperm was used for insemination, so the baby will have connection with father on the genetic level.
-
I am a huge fan of donor eggs and I do not think you should worry one bit about that. I can delete that post if you would like, I think that was not a very nice thing to say.
-
Thank you for sharing your story. I'm glad that you took right decision and now you are parents. I know that today with all progress of reproductive medicine it is easier to find some way out. As far as I Know egg donation process isn't allowed in all countries and it is a pity( Where did you do this procedure?
-
Agree that it is not fair to those woman who can't conceive naturally and are forced to use reproductive methods to complete the family. Unfortunately I also live in country where it is forbidden procedure, so our doctor (as I mentioned above) gathered a group of patients who needed this procedure and we together went to Ukraine for he procedure, there this is regulated by law.
-
I am glad that I can share my story with other woman. Yes, not in all countries it is allowed and unfortunately we with husband live in the country where it is forbidden. But our doctor gathered a group of infertile couples who need the procedure of egg donation and we all together went to Ukraine for the procedure. There it is regulated by law.
-
Are you kidding? It is looks like my story, you know. But we are from Germany. There it is also forbidden procedure, so our doc gathered group to travel to another country. There were 4 couples in the group. Before going there we went through stimulation, went to the clinic, made embryo transfer and went home. Is it the same clinic??? 0_o

Hi, Sara, I don't know weather it is the same one, you didn't mentioned the name of the clinic. We were in ********* clinic in Kiev. Probably, can say that I probably didn't like some services, such as our driver, we always wait for 15-20 minutes for him to go to the procedure, also meals...I don't know maybe it is because we just don't used to eat such things:think: So, where did you been? Here or in some other place?
-
Yes, it is the same one, lol ))) I'm really surprised...didn't expect to see someone here telling this story) Agree with the fact abt meals and yes, think we just don't used to eat such food))) when I was in Spain I also didn't like their meals a lot, so think it is matter of habits. The main point for me is that I came back home with positive result and doesn't matter what meals, accommodations, drivers etc. Don't you think so?
-
Of course I agree with you, I was ready eat nothing for a month but to have my cute and the most long - awaited baby, it doesn't matter what is going on around. I'm glad that there are very qualified specialists, doctors whose teacher was famous USA scientist in reproductive medicine Verlinskyi.
-
Agree with you, main point for us was to become parents and it doesn't matter what is going around. Also we found out that one of the doctor's teacher was Verlinskyi, one of the most famous scientists in reproductive medicine. I'm glad that I was in hands of such qualified doctor.
-
hm...didn't know abt such schemes...is it real story? give pls your contacts or contacts of the clinic pls. I want to know details.
-
Hi, Liza. Clinic called ********* and is situated in Kiev (Ukraine). And where are you from? what procedure do you want to do? You should found out weather it is ok to do through your country.
-
I'm from France. We have intention to do ivf with ED but in case of failure we will use services of surrogate mother. Does the clinic provide such services?
-
Yes, as far as I know they provide services of surrogate motherhood. I don't know exactly about the program itself but can give you cantacts where you can see everything with your own eyes if you need. Let me know if you need it.
-
As for me UA is strange country for such procedure, but who knows....everything is moving forward and maybe it is ok now. But think I never ever dare to go there(
-
Somehow I can agree with you. Maybe conditions of leaving were not so great as we were said before. Really, I didn't used to live in such conditions (lol). But if to talk about medical side it was completely great. I am a mother now and no matter in what room we lived during 5 days. If to compare what we received after that...I can't even compare such things. What will you choose 5 days of living in not the best room and eat not the best meals but finally you will get pregnant and become mother after 8 years of trying and fails or to live in lux room to eat the best food but never ever take your baby in your arms? As for me this are uncomparable things.
-
You know, the main point I went there was guarantee!!! I agree that it is not the best country, not as developed as USA for example but they give real guarantees. I know other clinics which "have 80% success rate" and you go there, you did 5-7-9 ivf attempts and nothing...no result, at all, zero and there are 7 women like you with the same zero result after several attempts. Some clinics just lie to attract ppl. It is pity.
-
I don't know, I'm not so stupid to believe in everything like this. Looks like some super place where all infertile woman become pregnant. It is funny you know? I agree that if to choose between child and conditions all of us will choose child and it doesn't matter where do u live and what do u eat. But I'm not sure if all this process is so easy.
-
it is your right not to believe. it is ok to be suspicious in such things. I also didn't believe at first but just we with DH decided to risk...it was our chance and we used it. It depend on the desire...I had dreams abt the child, I was thinking abt it all the time and taking this "guarantee package" was like lucky ticket.
-
I don't know, maybe you really succeed and I'm happy for you! It is great if it is truth. Can you give me some more inf. links to the site or coordinates with whom I can talk?
-
Leticia, I just googled the clinic as I have a friend irw, who is desperate for a baby, having failed IVF three times in the UK and a guarantee package would be perfect for her. Here's a link and they do seem to offer a guaranteed package with donor eggs for just under 10,000 Euro which is very cheap. They also appear to offer an all inclusive surrogacy packages for 30,000 Euro, which could obviuosly help some people on this site.
********* - Center for Reproductive Medicine
Obviously, the one downside of the clinic is its location in the Ukraine, so quite worrying travelling there given everything going on at the moment.
Would be interested to hear how anyone gets on contacting them as will pass the details to my friend.

@Leticia yes, i can give you coordinates of the manager we worked with. Here is her fb page https://www.facebook.com/liticia.ganzales, phone:+308953726569, e-mil:*********ua@mail.ru, site: ********* - Center for Reproductive Medicine
It is the manager who helped us a lot and answered all our questions, so think you may ask her if you want to know smth. Hope it will help youXXX
-
Thank you Felicidad. I really mailed the manager and searched through their site ********* - Center for Reproductive Medicine, think clinic is not bad as for me but still I don't completely believe))) as for me I more believe for example clinics in Spain. I know IEGRA clinic, they proved egg donation services on the very high level.
-
There are more clinics in europe (czech republic for example) who offer donor eggs and even donor embryos. I don't know if they do genderselection on the embryo too if you like.....
-
of course, there are a lot of clinics all over the Europe which provides egg donation and surrogacy services. All of them are different. Think the process of choosing the clinic is a personal choice bcz for each couple different things play important roles. If to talk about egg donation for us it was important that ********* clinic works only with fresh material and one donor is matched only with one recipient. All donors are young woman, so we had more chances to get pregnant.
@Leticia IEGRA clinic is also good one, I've heard abt it too. If you don't believe Ukrainian service you can for sure go to Spain)))
-
I contacted the clinic but unfortunate they don't perform PGD so you can't test chromosomes for diseases or gender.....
-
with what clinic did you contact?
-
As for PGD, I know for sure that in ********* they do this procedure and in IEGRA too, so u'll have healthy child.
-
Ok, we with DH was thinking a lot abt all this clinics, programs and everything else..and we decided that it is time to act. I contacted with Iegra manager and made an appointment. booked tickets to Spain already. have an appointment on the 30th of April. Will see how it will go. Wish us luck!)))
-
Wish u a lot of luck, dear!!!XXX It is great that you are so brave and decided to act at once. Hope you will succeed. Keep us posting!
-
can you provide me with some inf abt the program of egg donation in spanish clinic?
-
The program costs 13900 euro includes 5 attempts in case when all 5 attempts will fail you will receive all your money back. Price includes drugs, tests, medical examination and donated eggs, of course.
-
oh, sounds great!
but what for these 5 attempts?if this clinic is so good then 1 or maximum 2 attempts are enough!you can spare money.
-
think it doesn't depend on clinic, they just give more chances for less price if to compare with other clinics, also if they work with fresh material and this also grow your chances. It is just more attractive offer for me that I've seen. the fact of receiving money back is also a big plus for me.
-
you are right!
at least in case of failure the money will be saved!and you will have the opportunityto continue your journey.
but doesn't it sound strange and suspicious?
-
You know, if to take everything what is good like suspicious things u can loose your chance for positive result. In my story (posted at the beginning) there was no guarantee and only suspicious things lol))) but I decided to use each opportunity which I saw on my way and I didn't regret I used it bcz it helped me to complete my family.
