A line is a line is a line, right??!

Hey lovely ladies,
I'm looking for some reassurance that I possibly just got my BFP!!!!!! But, have doubts! I tested with first urine, thought it was a BFN and put it in the bin, then did the school run and when I went to put something in the bin on my return thought, hang on a minute!! Retrieved the test and sure enough there is a super squinter... But I'm talking, really really feint.... and so im scared to get too optimistic just yet. Help! Temp is still up on cd 29 and I'm 10/11 dpo and have been getting a lot of twinges/bloating etc. is this it??? Thanks all and FX/GL and congrats to you all xx :fx:

What test did you use? I'd suggest you go get a First Response Early Detection test (or a pack of 3) and test again. Fingers crossed it is your BFP!!

What I am experiencing right now! I went through this. I took cheap strip tests and saw what I call ghost lines.. they aren't evaps.. they are thicker than them. I had them for 2 days in a row and then I had to skip a day because I ran out of tests so I obtained a dollar store test and sure enough it was a clear positive! I hope this is it for you sweetie! :HH:

I had the exact same experience. Try testing with "second" morning urine. This is more concentrated and if it is a line it will get darker. The IC I bought this time aren't showing up until after the 5 minute mark... disappointing!!

I agree with mumofsix... the dollar store hpt I took was a squinter but the FRER was dark, definite line!!!

Wow, this just happened to me! Yeah, try the 2MU, and maybe a higher quality test. Mine weren't even giving me a faint/ghost line until after the 5 minute mark until today, but supposedly it's not an evap line if the line is pink/blue (whatever color the control dye is) and not grey. At least, that's what I read online.

Use a higher quality test for sure! Like I said, I took a dollar store AND FRER yesterday morning just to check again, and the FRER came up dark right away, and the dollar store hpt was just barely there (I am 14 or 15 dpo today!). I know some people swear by dollar store tests but I didn't have a good experience with them this time.

Thanks all, just tested again now with my cheapos and the squinter is def less squintier!!! So happy and slightly shell shocked too... I'm a December baby (23rd) so this could be the best present ever. Yay! X

If it's sat for a very long time (hours) and very light, then it can be a false positive. Retest.

FWIW with my pg test with Suzy, it didn't come up pos at first and I had really not expected it to, like, at all. I came back quite some time after (20 min or maybe even a bit longer) and it was positive and I was like WTH no way??

HOLY SHIZZZZ!!!! AAAA so excited to read this!

A line is a line almost every time EXCEPT when you let them sit for a super long time, and this means hours, not an hour or even two but 6+ hours, then there can be a really faint ghost line that is not really positive. But if it's a true positive OR it's within a few hours, then it's almost certianly a real deal pos.

It sounds very promising! Definitely go for FRERs (yes, more than one! :)) and use 2MU. I always got my BFP's using 2MU! Fingers crossed for you. x

That's so funny Atomic, but that's how it is with me too, I never have a line unless I'm prego! My negs are stark white and there's never a line afterwards ;) My mom-in-law had another dream called hubby up a week ago and told him. She saw two babies, no idea who they belong to! I am thinking one is ours though. At first he was freaked, but it's weird.. don't know who he is.. he is a HORN DOG...it's FR right now.. every single day! Anyway, I started to be tired.. and have other symptoms. A week ago Tues I felt O pain, or thought I did! So now it's just a waiting game. I'll test in the am. Mom-in-law called after that day.. I don't know what to do. I'm tempted to take Vitex again!

I swear I see a ghost line but then again perhaps I'm just nuts. :) Don't we just LOVE the waiting game? *insert sarcasm here*

I spent close to £100 on pg tests this year, 1 was a blighted ovum, then this little bean who was nice and cosy yesterday at 8+5. I think the Poas obsession actually helps me deal with pg with some sort of control, as pg tests have warned me all 3 times I've had a loss, so I wasn't shocked when I mc'd. Just me tho, now I'm thinking what I could have done with that money!!
