Not sure what the stats are but my second boy was a ohw at o-2. I think it's more likely to be a boy with several attempts around o though because of the sperm quality/amount. Good luck xx
Between 70-75% and most of the time it's been 75% (stats fluctuate a bit over time just from sheer luck)
This falls to 65% with 2 attempts and 45% with 3
I believe it I do. I just don't understand why frequency doesn't matter. Us it that sperm raises ph or something. Its just so strange why it works x
That is NOT what your chances would be if you hadn't been doing it. Virtually all those people were doing LE Diet along with that (or a few doing IGD). That number really means "People who were doing an overall sway and ALSO then did one attempt."
Those numbers in our stats are not scientific study type numbers where there is a test group and a control group and we are testing one variable at a time.
If you were doing a boy friendly diet, would one attempt still sway? Probably, but it would not sway as much (and we know this as a fact because all the IG-style blue swayers only do one attempt at ovulation doing the Shettles timing and they do get more boys than girls.)
Oh ok that's interesting. I will have been doing LE for 8 weeks by the time we make our attempt so I was just curious how much the one attempt would help my sway. Both my boys were conceived with multiple attempts and a very GD boy diet so I'm fascinated by all of this. Thanks so much for your reply.
Hi!
I am currently 6 weeks pregnant and did several things to sway pink. I am reading about some studies you found, particularly the one that says if you have sex 6 plus days sways boy, because I am afraid I am in this category. I had ONE attempt with shallow penetration 6 days before I got my positive opk, and yes, I got pregnant. TOTALLY shocked. At first I was excited, thinking this HAD to have been the perfect pink swing because it was soo far from O day. Do you think my one attempt will help balance out my horrible timing? What are your thoughts? Thank you!
That has been completely debunked and in fact it's been proven to be very slim odds getting pregnant that far out. You simply had to have ovulated early because 6 days before pos OPK means 7-9 days before ovulation. Studies have found this to be ZERO% successful. They went back and looked at those studies that claimed boys were gotten with 6 day cutoffs using modern technology and found that they had miscalculated the day of ovulation for those women and they'd Oed earlier than they first thought. Studies have also found 50-50 b and g conceived every day of the cycle
One attempt actually DOES sway pink at least according to what we have found in our results so if you got preggo with one attempt I'd be happy with that.

I thought I would update you, I asked this question a while back, and I just found out through genetic testing that I am indeed expecting a GIRL! Thank you, thank you, thank you for your help!
Thats great news Amanda! Thankyou for updating:)
I am a new user, and I am not sure if I should ask this here, or elsewhere, so I apologize in advance if it is not in the right spot! I have a question about frequency/cut off.
I am already pregnant with number four, 15 weeks, and oh, how I WISH I had known about this site earlier! I have read so much valuable info. I currently have boy-girl-boy, and do not know gender of this baby yet. I was kinda hoping for a girl to even the score! Looking back, I sort of swayed unintentionally!
Though I am not at my slimmest, I haven't been since my firstborn 5 years ago, I was on a LE diet losin baby weight, always skipped breakfast, never a big fan of red meat, or meat in general, though on occasion I have chicken or ham, bacon. Not much dairy as milk goes, but if I do, it is fat free. I do love low fat sour cream, cheeses, etc. Lots of diet drinks, and lots of water, but ALL flavored with packets, (not Crystal light, but similar containing aspartame). Most days, it was after 12 or 1-2pm before I ate anything outside of a cup of coffee with sweet-n-low and creamer. I was big into Starbucks, too, at least 3-4/week during afternoon/evenings with non-fat milk. I didn't really watch certain foods, had quite a bit of potatoes and salt I guess (though I don't salt anything extra), but I was eating so little, I don't think it matters from what I have read (NO "MAGIC FOODS") since I was under total calories daily. My other glitch is that I sometimes snacked, not really eating a big lunch, so maybe snacked on and off until dinner, which if I DID that, I often skipped dinner as well. I am still BF'ing my DS2 as well, maybe 4-5 times daily, but not at night. No exercising at all, either. :-(
I said all of that to get to my question about timing/cutoff....we were not really "planning" on TTC that month, but in the next couple, but wasn't careful, either. We BD on a Saturday (2-3 days after AF ended and also it was 6 days before I O'd). It was the day before My Days said was the start of my fertile window (starting Sunday), and then BD'd again 3 days later (Tuesday night). I O'd on Friday. (The ultrasound confirmed this date.) My question is, since we BD'd BEFORE my fertile window, does that Tuesday count as one attempt, or does it still count as 2 attempts (including Saturday)?I also always have the big O, which may not matter from what I have read on here...
Thanks for any help, and sorry if this is confusing!!!
I also wanted to mention DS I am BF'ing is 17 months old, so that may not sway that much.
I know everyone is different, but with my 2 boys, they were planned and we frequent BD'd during my fertile window and on O and sometimes through O. My girl was an oopsie, almost same situation as I am in now, where we were getting ready to TTC, but it happened a little early and was from 1 attempt.
I would call that one attempt and I think you have a great chance for a girl because you were skipping Bfast and loosing weight eating low fat and breastfeeding and from what I have observed oops babies are quite often girls- good luck xx
Thank you so much for your reply! I can't wait to find out!! It's crazy that I had never heard of swaying outside of the debunked Shettles method we heard about in nursing school! When I started looking things up about guessing gender after I got pregnant, I stumbled upon this site! I was pleased I fit in the category sort of without realizing it. Of course I started worrying about little things like the snacking, big O, etc, but have been somewhat at ease reading all of this wonderful info! Best wishes to you as well!!
It's not my policy to make guesses for people who are already pregnant since I think it makes false hope and/or false despair. I think you have a lot swaying pink for you though! Good luck and pink dust. :)
That's okay & I understand! It's too late now to try for a great sway, & I'm okay with that!! It has helped pass the time while I wait, though (trying to figure it all out)!
And I was mainly curious/confused about what would be considered my number of attempts!
Thanks anyway!
I sadly got another BFN . Im getting really
Tired of all the diet and exercise and I really want to do my best to get pregnant this month . First off I think I am ovulating right on the full moon so I'm nervous already . Aside from the Le vegetarian diet , doing 60 min of walking 4-6 days a week . I have been using rephresh three days after the end of my period and 12 - 24 hours prior to attempt . The last two months have been one attempt only on first day positive opk both times were kind of shallow release ( not sure if this is my problem )? As for supplements I have been doing physilium fibre with every meal , low dose aspirin every few days . and antihistamines every few days from af-o . Also peppermint / and spearmint tea 3x day .I did take an antihistamine both days that we did our attempt . My husband is cutting back meat but not always , taking licorice root 1-3 times a day ( he actually takes this for preventing ulcers anyways ) and he takes low dose soy isoflavs when ever he can remember .
I read your awesome post on how many attempts but I'm getting a little confused with all the info . I know you can't give an exact answer but I'm hoping you can share some advise if I feel I need to do more than one attempt . Or if you feel I should drop or add anything else . I have been consistently getting my first positive opk 14 days from the first day of af and a positive on day 15 as well . I was thinking first attempt on first day of positive opk and then one attempt on o day . Or one one day before positive and one either on first positive opk or right on O day . If you think it could be ok to try more than twice I am more than willing . Even though I kind of just want to be pregnant I really do want my best chance for a
Girl .what are your thoughts for best numerous attempts without affecting ph too much that it would sway boy . Or if you still think 1 attempt is best what is the best day for highest chances of pregnancy ?
Sorry it was a bfn this month. I can understand the temptation to add attempts in an effort to get bfp even if increasing attempts also increases the chances of a boy. Finding a balance is hard. I can say that both my girls were one attempt (possibly 2 at a stretch) and this is one aspect I'll definitely be changing up in my future sway. If you are doing a shallow release I think it's worth addressing that firstly.
Thank you for the quick reply . Were girl attempts regular or deep release ? Also did you do a jump and dump ? After today I think I'm going to stick with one attempt unless there is a safe way of doing two attempts . I'm thinking waiting 5-15 min before dumping as well ?
Tbh I can't remember whether my girls were a regular or deep release but I can say I was a serial jump and dumper. This was all before I'd heard of swaying so was just doing it as part of getting ready to sleep and I'd heard going to the bathroom straight after helps avoid UTIs.
Before you start adding attempts you need to drop that other stuff you're doing IMO. You need to lose RepHresh, antihistamine, the mint tea, soy iso and LR for hubby. All those things cut odds of concepiton and none of them are seeming to help us anywhere near as much as the one attempt has. In the early days of the site, we tried keeping those things and adding attempts and it was our worst success rates of the site, so I cannot ever recommend anyone add attempts until they have dropped all those things.
An O Day attempt doesn't work for conception - it is much lower than O-1 and O-2 attempts so you'd be undermining your sway for lower odds of conception. In addition to dropping those things already mentioned I want you to have attempts every 4 days starting after AF ends and going through till when you're sure you have ovulated (even if this means going through till next AF) It may be that you have been or will in the future, ovulate early or late and e4d is better for that. Then if you MUST (and I strongly urge you drop all that other stuff before doing this) then add in one more attempt at positive OPK
DO NOT under any circumstances add in a 3rd attempt. No way, no how. This was 40-ish% success for pink even with otherwise good pink sways and it makes no sense to me to undermine your sway without dropping all those other things.
Shallow release has never been proven to work for swaying and is something I have had come up repeatedy with people who were having trouble conceiving (even without all the other stuff you're doing!!) Shallow release has GOT TO GO.
Yes, you need to wait at least 5 minutes before getting up. That's how most of us do J and D on this site, after 5 min instead of immediately.
I really, really want you to recast this in your head that you have not really been trying until now. Doing all those things really meant it was pretty unlikely you were going to conceive and now you're in it to win it, but we have to do it SMART and not go from doing too much to get pregnant, to basically swaying blue. Drop things that aren't working but focus on the things that ARE!
Thanks so much ladies . I will drop the rephresh antihistamines and rephresh . Just so I'm clear if I drop all the above and do one attempt this month what is the best day for My one attempt ? I am using opk tests . It shows I ovulate on cd14&15 should I try cd12 cd13 or 14 ? Then if I don't get pregnant this month next month do every 4 days ?
Most of us do the day of first positive OPK. Please do not try many days before your expected O. An attempt on CD 12 for a CD 15 ovulation would have very slim chances of conception.
Ok , I thought so . Just wanted to make sure . Thanks so much
Yes, and no. Mia lays out the case for the e4d being one attempt above.
BUT
e4d is new. I do not yet have the higher level of confidence that I have in one attempt and nor do I have the very clear and obvious difference in results that we saw when we started focusing on one attempt to inspire that confidence. It very well may be that the e4d is inferior NOT because of how long the sperm lives but because of something else entirely and so it is my preference that most of you guys start off doing one attempt, and if you would prefer an e4d type of thing right from the start (unless you are older or in a huge hurry to conceive for some other reason) extend that out so it's more like e5,6, or even 7 days (yes, I mean unprotected sex once per week) at the start then move it closer and closer in.
