Please can you share some recipes with me?

I've already had a look through the famous cookbook, and the FGD recipe suggestions but wonder if anyone has any others as some of those are just a bit too "different" to me.

Are there any nice Italian, Chinese, or British style recipes you have? other than the classic pasta in a cheese sauce I mean.

Or any girl-friendly vegetarian recipes? I'd like to start eating more of these before I actually start my pink diet.



I was thinking you could make some chicken fried rice with a little chicken, rice, eggs, and maybe a green pepper.

Is there a good curry recipe for TTC pink?
or a nice vegetable stir fry one in a more interesting sauce?

ETA - I'm not planning on being as strict on the vegetable side of things

I wish I could be more helpful, but honestly I eat a lot of plain, white rice. A lot. Sometimes I have a very small piece of chicken or fish (broiled with lemon) with the rice. For lunch I stick with yogurt and fruit. I do make a veggie stir fry with eggplant, squash and mushrooms fried in unsalted butter (no sauce at all).

I'm not eating meat or eggs (just one or two every now and again as a treat lol!). I tend to either eat pasta (usually gluten free) - with butternut squash puree and a little parmesan or with a Tesco kids pasta sauce (low sodium and mostly pureed veg) or something quick like a bagel or toast or a plain scone with sugar free jam. I'm not big on rice but have had it occasionally. Most of the recipes I'd usually make involve onion and/or garlic and I'm avoiding those! I'm doing the low-everything diet btw.

Zanacal- thanks for the pasta sauce info - what flavours are those? I've never actually cooked a butternut squash, how do you make that puree?

the French diet does say you can use onion and garlic to flavour your meals, so that will make life a bit easier

Onion and garlic are thought to have chemicals in them which raise testosterone, which is why they're on the 'best avoided' list on the low everything diet.

The kids pasta sauce has tomatoes in it so if you're doing something other than 'low-everything' you probably won't want that. I just chop up the butternut squash in to chunks and roast it in the oven then puree a little with some water.

I really like risotto and it's low in protein. I make my own stock using allowed vegetables so it is quite tasty. I made one using spinach stock and pureed a bit of spinach in the stock, it was lovely. I also roast vegetables a lot as I think it gives them more flavour.

I really enjoyed eating a homemade non-tomatoe sauce... I posted it somewhere on the girl recipe post. Also plain veggies on pasta and a little chili powder is tasty.

zanacal- cooked tomatoes are also fine on the FGD. Thanks for the info about the onions and the garlic! surely they can't sway too strongly or you'd have certain countries where those appear in every dish having mainly boys?
swish - I've never made a risotto before (and only recently discovered that I like eating them) ;) - how do you make them?

I guess it depends whether you eat proper meals! Have you read the thread about how girl mums/moms were eating before they conceived? That's really helpful if you haven't seen it yet.

Hi rainbow, I have adapted it to suit the girl diet so it's not as tasty as it should be!! I dry fry the risotto rice until it starts to look translucent, you can add White wine for flavour at this point if you want. Or if not add stock (I make my own by boiling leeks or whatever), add it a laddle full at a time and let all the liquid absorb before you add any more. Keep adding the stock until the rice is soft, it takes about 20 minutes in total. Then turn off the heat and add a knob of butter and stir in. I sometimes add a bit of lemon and plenty of Parmesan!! Then add whatever vegetable - my favourite is roast butternut squash or courgettes and aubergine. Hope that makes sense!!!!

I made a really yummy portobello mushroom burger. I marinated it in balsamic vinegar (allowed on the low everything diet), topped it with a slice of low fat provolone and put it on a low sodium bun. Yummy!

TOTALLY! :agree: No magic foods. But I figure since we all want to optimize our chances, onions and garlic are easy enough to avoid and they don't exactly stick to the ribs, so the benefits don't outweigh the potential risk.
