I decided to take a break

I am in the 2 WW and hoping for a BFP. This time we bd once on day before O (O confirmed by ultrasound). So fingers are crossed!

However, if I have another BFN I decided to have a break for a few months. At the moment it is too annoying and there are some important happenings in exactly one year....

I will TTC in a some months again so I will try to skip breakfast (I got so used to it), stay vegetarian but will increase protein and I will go on with exercising maybe 2 - 3 times a week. Should I have some vitamins?? Is that okay? What do you think?

If it was me I'd avoid vitamins, you want at least 12 weeks vitamin free before attempting and what's the point if you need to stop taking them again soon anyways.

Ooh I've also got a Ferdinand, great name :) I wouldn't go back on vitamins. Best to keep your body in as poor of condition as you can while still living your life normally. Normally if you eat a healthy diet you don't need vitamins anyway. I hope it doesn't matter and you get your BFP this cycle!

Personally if I was taking a break I would continue swaying as normal :) I understand swaying girl is harder so with as little changes as possible realistically.

Dynazyme, how you confirmed your Ov? Intravaginal u/s or Abdominal u/s?
And when confirmed it?

I just ask, because have been in the same situation last try and the toxic gel from u/s killed all my DH sperm...
I went 1 day before Ov and the day of Ov. At little difference of hours beforw my attempt and after my Ov......
I read so many articles after Atomic told me the gels are toxic...it seems that 90% of sperm is killed....

I understand so well Dynazyme, after 4 months of failure I took a break last year. I did snack and took vitamin D & fish oil but my diet was still somewhat pink in terms of what I ate (not as much fat, not much meat). I started hard core swaying again 3 months before TTC again (now), though.

Hi! Recently I read the post about spermicide u/s gels in the boy section. I was not aware of that! That´s terrible!

Yes, my O was confirmed by intravaginal u/s. However I asked my doc today about the gel and he said that I am not in contact with the gel. So no worries!
BTW he prescirbed me Utrogestan and he said with a smile that he assumes that AF will not arrive. Lining looks perfect. However I guess he can't see anything so far???? I am O+5.

Well, he knows better.
But how come the gel is not in contact with the body? I'm super curious.
Utrigestan is for pg womens.
So yaaaay, maybe you are already pg❤️

Yes! I think a break is necessary. You get to focused on TTC. And we already booked some holidays in one year, Ferdinand starts with school and I acceped a huge resarch project at work. So there are many reasons to have a break.

I am planning to stay with the diet, however I will allow some treats like having a large breakfast with my family during the weekends or having a steak sometimes. The hardest thing during my sway is the exercising. 6/7 60 min is quite hard and time consuming. I will definitely reduce during my break.

I would just stay vegetarian and you can take vitamins 3 days a week. If you can exercise, great, if not, that's fine.

I would worry less about the breakfast unless you really don't care either way. I am less sure that matters in the long term.

To be honest I have no idea how it works. I know that he is using this kind of condom that is slipped over the probe and it does not hurt when he inserts the probe. However I asked him and he definitly said that I am not in contact with the gel. Maybe its under the condom?? But how comes the easy insertion??? I can ask him again if you want!

I think I have to be realistic - he can´t see anything! Or??? :bigsmile:

The gel will be put on condom not under..my thought. But pls ask him when you have a chance.

The gel is in contact with the body and it is harmful to sperm and has been demonstrated in tons of studies. It doesn't mean you can't get pregnant while using it, though.

I think he is just trying to be reassuring when he says that you are going to be pg this month. He can't see anything at this stage. If your lining is nice, maybe it gives him extra optimism but I don't want you to think that he saw something that he did not.

I just want to update that I saw my doc today again and I asked about the gel and the ultrasound probe. He told me that he puts the gel under the condom. He said it is not necessary to have it on the condom (as long as the vagina is not too dry). So the gel is not in contact with vagina. He said he does not like that procedure.

My experience with the "delightful" (NOT) transvaginal ultrasound was that they used GOBS of lubricant outside the condom, but aparently not everyone does so. Thank you!

My experience with the 'dildo cam' (and I didn't make that up, that's really what the IF girls call it), is it depends on the clinic. Most places I've been to put gobs of gel on, both underneath the condom/cover and on top. I've never not had gobs in me, yucky blue oozy CM after scans everytime. :P

And this is at IVF clinics so I assume they think it's ok.

Thats my experience. I've recently been to the best Eco Men in town and he put under and on top as well.
I think it depends of the doctor.
