12pm: 1 slice of WW bread with a tiny smear of goat cheese and a couple of roasted red peppers, Activia non-fat yogurt, 2 sugar free Peek Frean cookies
5pm: leftover no salt vegetarian Mexican lasagna with a bit of fresh salsa and plain yogurt, steamed green beans, lemon gelato, 2 more cookies, one bite of blueberry fudge
8:30pm: low fat vanilla ice cream with fresh raspberries, 25g of salt & vinegar chips (this was about 10 tiny chips), Mike & Ike candies, peach
Calories: 1476
Protein: 42
Sodium: 1050
I feel like I'm drowning my sorrows in girl-approved sugary snacks. I am soooo sick of that Mexican lasagna - it's such a waste of protein and has hardly any taste. I want to eat tasty food again! If af shows on Thursday, I think I'm going to have to lighten up very slightly on the diet in order to keep my sanity. Three months of food with no taste is really taking its toll on me. I can't believe I've been on this diet 3 months already! I think I'm going to eat chocolate and garlic once or twice a week as a treat, and try not to worry if my protein creeps closer to 50g a couple of times a week. I'm going to continue to strive to find normal meals that fit within the diet, though in general I find I can only do that if I starve myself all day and save all my protein and sodium for supper.
I'm sooooooo depressed right now. :tissue: Sorry to start off this new thread on such a low note.

I'm so excited about my supper tonight that I wanted to share the recipe a little early. I'm making pizza with a low sodium crust. Here's the recipe:
2 t Active dry yeast
3 1/2 c Bread Flour
1 1/2 c Water
2 t Honey
2 T Olive Oil

I made it in the bread machine, and it makes 2 12" pizzas. With low sodium sauce and cheese used sparingly, it's going to fit nicely within the diet! I'm planning to eat 4 pieces, which is half a pizza - I've already worked out the nutritional info, and I can do it within the limits.

Here's me:
Lunch: Wrap with low fat cheese slice, White choc and strawberry cereal bar, grapes, 2 Fox's Glacier Fruits.
Snack: Packet of Starburst!
Dinner: Roasted courgette and mushroom mixed with kids tomato pasta sauce cooked on a dry fried wrap with melted cheddar cheese on top (my version of a pizza too!).
... and I've already decided I'm going to have a glass of wine tonight, so there!!
Once af finally arrives, I'm planning to have wine too! In fact, I'm going to drink wine or other alcoholic beverages as much as I want up until a few days before I O. It's one of the resolutions I've made about taking a more easy going approach to the diet this coming month. Chocolate, garlic and wine...mmmmmmm.
(edited to add: just in case anyone thinks I'm a lush, one or two drinks a week is pretty much all I ever indulge in. 3 drinks in a week is a huge binge for me!)

Well, the pizza turned out really yummy, but only because I cheated a bit. I had figured out the nutritional info based on 60g of mozzarella for the whole pizza, but once I was making it I realised how little cheese that really is. I immediately doubled it, which of course made my protein go through the roof. Oh well, it was the tastiest thing I've eaten in a long time, and I ate a whole half of the pizza. The crust recipe worked out really well, though it is very sticky and hard to manipulate. It baked up fluffy and light - quite yummy even without the salt.

5:30pm: homemade pizza on salt-free crust, 2 sugar free cookies, 2 slices of watermelon

I ate a little more today that I should have. I guess I'm still drowning my sorrows in food. I just need to make sure I don't gain any weight back.
My food for today:
Lunch: Exactly the same as yesterday - wrap with cheese slice, white choc & strawberry cereal bar, grapes, boiled sweet.
Snack: Popcorn
Dinner: KFC night! Strawberry shortcake milkshake, fries & BBQ sauce.
KFC is no fun without the 'C'! I looked up the protein in one of their 'healthiest' burgers and it was something ridiculous like 30g and the sodium was 1100mg - so I think I can forget about that for a while!
It's great that you've found something you can eat at KFC. I had a similar meal at Wendy's a couple of weeks ago: a Frosty and fries. One thing this diet has shown me is how few vegetarian options there are at fast food restaurants. Hardly any places have anything resembling a veggie burger, and even those places with salads often fill them with meat and cheese making them higher in protein and sodium than their burgers!

I just can't seem to get back on track with the diet, I keep cheating and I think I'll get worse with holiday on Friday and then potentially another month. I feel so guilty about it too, like I'm not trying hard enough!
swish - don't be so hard on yourself. First of all, this will very likely be the last month you'll have to be on the diet. Secondly, I'm sure a little cheating isn't going to hurt anything. I know what you mean about the slippery slope you start when you cheat a little - the same thing happened to me. At the same time, your day doesn't look that bad at all. Two little pieces of pizza aren't a huge cheat - it's better than having a steak! I'm trying to let myself relax a bit on the diet so I can enjoy life a bit more - you should do the same. This dieting is HARD WORK, and after 3 months on it we deserve a few treats! I think I'm going to go ahead with my one cheat day a week idea - one day when I don't track anything and eat whatever I want (within reason - I won't eat meat or eat a whole big bag of chips or anything). I think you should make the Friday holiday your cheat day so you can relax and have fun.
Hello everyone! :) I was on the old thread and then I was gone for awhile. I started to lose my mind a little with watching everything I ate. It really started to consume me!! After I figured out that I have been having 8/9 day luteal phases I had a few days of cheating bad! I felt sooooooo bad too for cheating! I felt like I was letting myself and my kids down and hurting my chances of having a girl.
I am feeling sooooo much better now after I had a good look at how I felt. I am feeling more postive and like okay... I can do this! Like mochagirl suggested... I think I will have a cheat day too... I honestly think in the long run it will totally help me stay positive and on the diet the rest of the week. It feels incredibly overwhelming for me to look at the calender and think on my gosh I will be on this diet for weeks or possibly months yet. So with a little cheating I feel like... yes... this is ok and this will all work out....
With that said... my mom passed away from an extremely short battle with cancer one year ago tomorrow. I am having a difficult time with it all this week. We have to go to the cemetary, temple service, and family dinner on Friday... which I am totally dreading!!! I am thinking I may have a drink .... I know that is totally a no-no... and honestly I can't even remember the last time I drank alcohol... but I am hoping maybe it will just help me relax.... hmmm...
Anyway... just wanted to stop by and say that I know how you all are feeling about the diet and that we can do this!!! :cheerteam:
Oh happy heart, I'm so sorry about your mum, you should definitely have a drink, I don't think a glass of alcohol is out of the question on the le diet. I think you should not focus at all on food that day and just focus on getting through the day, lots of love to you, x
So many {hugs} happyheart. I completely agree with swish. Don't even worry about what you are or aren't eating or drinking and do what you need to do to get through the next couple of days then start afresh when you're ready. It's not like your attempt is next week so this won't make any difference whatsoever. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow x
Thank you so much swish and zanacal! I REALLY think that completely focusing on swaying since May has really helped me get through this hard time. Although, she had three girls and two boys and I have found myself wanting to call her several times wanting to talk to her about swaying.
I really really want a girl so I can name her Leah after my Mom.

happyheart - I'm really sorry about your Mom. The same thing happened to a dear friend of mine about a year and a half ago - her mother was diagnosed with brain cancer and she was gone before they'd had time to adjust to the news. I really hope you get your girl to name after your Mom - Leah is a beautiful name. And I agree with the others - a drink or two are fine on this diet!
Ok, here's today:
7am: coffee
10am: skinny cappuccino (a friend came over to visit)
12pm: rice with balsamic vinegar, homemade raspberry oatmeal muffin
5pm: rice pasta with low sodium tomato sauce and parmesan, 2 sugar free cookies
8:30pm: low fat vanilla ice cream with fresh raspberries, low fat salt & vinegar chips, Sour Patch kids, green grapes (Wowza - I couldn't stop eating!)
Calories: 1690
Protein: 41g
Sodium: 814mg (I'm amazed it was this low even with a full serving of chips!)
Calories were a bit higher than I would like, but otherwise I suppose it was an ok day. The cappuccino wasn't a great idea since I'm sure the milk in it raised my blood sugar a bit. I'm also just not sure how many calories I should aim for if I don't want to lose anymore weight but also don't want to gain any!

I think that I may be eating too much protein. I am following the LE diet and I am having one small chicken breast everyday. Are most of you staying away from meat all together?
One 4oz portion of chicken breast is around 36gr of protein so depending on what you eat for the rest of the day you might come in under 50. I find I can only have around 1oz of chicken or low fat fish if I want to stay under the protein allowance and be somewhat satisfied at the end of the day. I love meat so this is definitely the hardest part of the diet for me. I'm thinking I may go veggie soon with just dairy and eggs.Quote:

I'm going to a friend's for dinner tomorrow and she's serving:
Starter: Filo pastry mushroom tarts
Main: Chilli con carne/sticky chicken drumsticks, baked potatoes, salad, bread

There are going to be lots of people there so hopefully nobody will pay much attention to what I am or aren't eating, but I'm thinking the starter will be ok and a small piece of pavlova for desert is fine too. lena - your sodium looks fine. The guidelines say to eat 700-1000mg per day. I'm amazed you're finding frozen dinners that stay within the guidelines! Tell me what ones you're choosing!
In it's strictest form, the LE diet is meant to be vegetarian. When I started, I was eating a bit of chicken, but I dropped that after a couple of weeks. I also dropped eggs after a month or so when I found a post by atomic saying she thought they weren't a good idea.
I'm amazed at how much protein is in food. Even with no meat or eggs, my protein adds up so quickly! A glass of milk can ruin your whole day's diet (though sometimes I indulge in rice milk, which is a lot lower in protein), bread and pasta are very high in protein (a double serving of pasta can be as much as 22g of protein before you even add any sauce!), and even fruit and vegetables have protein in them! One trick a lot of us have discovered is to eat rice pasta instead of regular pasta, as it has half the protein.
For the past few months I've been sticking to 40g per day, but for the next month I'm going to allow myself to go slightly over 40g sometimes (to a max of 50 except on cheat days) - it's just getting so exhausting having watch every speck of protein that goes in my mouth!
Oops - I just noticed that your sodium listing was per frozen dinner, not per day...sorry! Yes, that is too high. Basically, you could eat one of those and almost no sodium for the rest of the day, which would be really tough. It is almost impossible to find packaged food that is low enough in sodium for this diet, which is why I was so surprised when I thought you'd found a frozen dinner that worked with the diet.
zanacal - that meal sound yummy! Your plan sounds great - just shove some other food on top of the chicken and no one else will notice you're not eating it. Even if you have a bite or two it won't blow your whole diet - you've been doing such a great job.

5:30pm: goat cheese and roasted vegetables on toasted Weight Watchers bread (2 sandwiches), potato leek soup (I found an expensive brand that only has 135mg of sodium per serving. Unfortunately, it wasn't very yummy), canteloupe, Weight Watchers lemon creme cake
9:30pm: low fat vanilla ice cream with fresh raspberries, more curd cheese:oops:, peach, Mike & Ike candies
Calories: 1578
Protein: 46g
Sodium: 1500mg (damn that curd cheese...I'll consider this my 'af is coming' treat and try to move on)

I'm off out for my meal tonight so I'm not keeping track today. I had a ww wrap with one of my plastic cheese slices and an iced bun at lunchtime and a cereal bar when I got home to keep me going (until 8pm - how will I cope?!). I'm going to eat everything in moderation and not make a pig of myself but at the same time I'm not going to worry a jot about my diet because this one evening won't make an ounce of difference to my sway in 4 weeks time (or longer!).

So....not a great day. If it hadn't been for the curd and the chocolate croissant, I would have been fine. The curd was leftover from yesterday, and I figured it would be a shame to waste it, and the chocolate croissants were an impulse buy today - they're one of my favourite things and they looked sooooooo good. The worst part is they came in a pack of 6. After I ate the one, I packed the others into a plastic container and put them in the basement freezer so hopefully I won't eat anymore for a while.
Calories: 1766 (too many - I think I need to keep closer to 1500 to avoid putting any weight back on)
Protein: 50 (but boy was all that cheese good!)
Sodium: 1200 (could have been way worse all things considered)
Tomorrow night I'm going out for dinner with some girlfriends, so it will likely be another not so great day diet-wise. Luckily, they chose a vegetarian restaurant, so I should be able to pick something that isn't too awful on the diet. I've looked at the menu, and I'm choosing between:
Mediterranean Bean Patties served in a warm pita with roasted vegetables, garlic tahini
lentil cashew burger with pesto mayo and dijon
Spinach and Ricotta Lasagna
My sodium will probably end up high (though I'll eat rice for lunch so I can save most of the 1000mg for supper), but I think I should be able to keep my protein within limits. I'll probably get a drink and dessert, though.

I wasn't at all good last night - I managed to only eat a little chicken/chilli with half a jacket potato and some salad then I had a small slice of pavlova, then my friend who made a Tiramisu insisted I try that too! I also had a glass of wine and that all wouldn't have been too bad if I hadn't sat next to a big bowl of cheese & onion kettle chips when we went into the living room! Oh well, I can't uneat it, normal service resumed today :D
