Are they used for same thing?
Dh is 38, healthy, good weight. Prego 1st try for 4 boys . I worry about side effects for lr, does ole have the same?
Which do you think will sway better in this case?
I do not eat meat haven't my whole life but do eat salmon maybe 1x a month. Not now of course. I am just a major snacker so cutting that off but I have had a girl w diff. Partner so of course I blame it on dh. He needs to sway something lol.
30 views and Nada? Anyone doing ole? Saw it in girl stats but can't find any info about pros/cons,how to use ect.

OLE is a comparatively newer supp, so there is a lot less info on how it might work and any known side effects. The main issue that has come up so far with OLE is lowering blood pressure, but it is likely there are others that are rarer and haven't shown up yet. We used OLE as none of the other DH options seemed worth the associated risks. He used the liquid, which tastes vile, and only took it every other day since his blood pressure runs low anyway. We got a girl as well.
Does he take af- o like lr? You thought these risks were less than lr, are only risks so far blood pressure?
No, he took it continuously since it works (we speculate, don't know for certain) on sperm as they are forming, roughly a 90 day period. So far low blood pressure is the main issue we've seen with OLE vs possible irregular heart rythm, liver issues etc. with LR.
Oh not for us not swaying for months. Starting now when af hits in a few days.
So even taking lr for only 2 weeks you think has more issues than taking supp daily for 90 days? Atomic?
OK think I'll just have to stick to lowering ph and not testosterone. Maybe some peppermint tea?
Sorry to jump in here but just wondering if we are hoping to have our first attempt mid August (around 12th/13th) should I put DH on OLE now AND on LR when I get my AF before we try? Or is that too much?
I don't know about them together but sounds scary but she does have a post obout lr and supposed to start that on month of first try af-o because you don't want them on it any longer than necessary. I have searching searching for post like that about ole.
Atasukina, it has to do with how big the downside is. True, OLE probably has side effects we haven't encountered yet, but the side effect we see most is manageable with some simple changes (e.g. take before bed every other day). LR' s side effects are potentially much more serious and strike unpredictably. Yes, I do think on balance OLE is safer for 2-3 months than LR for 2 weeks. For course that is my opinion, your risk assessment will be different than mine.
Hopper, LR can also impact blood pressure as well as heart rythm. I would not recommend taking two cardiac influencing supps at the same time. OLE or LR, but not both together.
ETA: OLE drops blood pressure, and the body's natural response to this is to gradually move you back to your baseline. However, if I then take away the thing that was holding my pressure down (stop OLE) I will have a slightly higher pressure for a bit until my body can readjust back down. LR raises blood pressure. So if I stop taking OLE and then go straight into taking LR I'm increasing my risk of side effects with the LR. I would have OLE off for a week at least before I started LR, longer if possible.

My DH took the liquid OLE everyday (well we missed days here and there) 3 times a day (again, we missed times) and he did it for 5ish months. We don't know what we are having yet. He took LR as well, AF-O. Atomic recommends starting LR the month before you attempt. So DH is on it from AF-O(or CD14), then a 2 week break, then from AF-O( or CD14) the month of your attempt.
ETA: DH is 27 and had no noticeable side effects. He was on LR longer then he should have been but Atomic does not recommend that.
OLE is a substitute for cranberry.
LR is different and can be subbed with peppermint tea.
OLE is safe and well tolerated.
I can't give specific info without a sway plan and more info, but I do use any of those supps, cranberry OR OLE and LR or pep tea, depending on circumstances, for men at 38. I would go off of other things like his health and medical history. Point being all are ok for a guy at 38 depending on his overall health and fertility.
Peppermint tea and soy milk are both ways to lower testosterone without using LR.Quote:

Yes, OLE as soon as possible before sway, LR is one cycle in advance of first planned month. Hopper there should be a complete explanation and schedule of when to give your husband LR in your sway plan.Quote:

OK so ole is for lowering ph like cranberry, antihistamine, and asparteme? And lr for lower testosterone like peppermint, soy? OK I couldn't find out what ole was for. I read something that it was to make healthier and good for sperm and then thought it was for a boy sway. Think I'll smtry other things for dh ph but it does have good stats. Good luck ladies:)
I don't think any of the info on the site says no LR and OLE together, I'm just super cautious. :wink: It can be so easy for folks to forget that natural doesn't equal safe! Don't let my doom and gloom scare you off Hopper, if you and atomic develop a plan that includes both based on your DH's history that's a lot different than my advice that is purposefully very cautious since I don't know anyone's specifics.

I tend to err on the side of overly cautious at times and I feel that the two together are ok, but I do understand where you're coming from. I have used OLE and LR together for tons of people and not seen any ill effects from it that I"m aware of.Quote:

The story of OLE is that a doctor was on this site for a few weeks and claimed that OLE with HT was getting stellar results for girls. We don't have a clue as to why that was, she had a study she was going to publish that allegedly explained it but I don't think it was ever published that I saw. They started using it for IVF/PGD rounds and it didn't seem to sway blue, so I tentatively started using it for men who had really poor sperm health and couldn't use stronger stuff. It may help boost sperm health. We got good results with it, but I am still not sure if it's "real", or because I only used it for guys with cruddy sperm health which may sway pink anyway.Quote:

The assumption is pH but it could be some other thing totally. So please don't hang your hat on pH or anything, all this is just theorizing. What it boils down to is, if things are getting good results, USE THEM. If they aren't, don't. Don't try to piece it together because we don't have the data yet and I see it time after time after time that people get so hung up on pH or sperm count or testosterone that they miss the forest for the trees and start doing things based on the "guesses" when really they should be doing what is WORKING. Well see we get prego on first try every time def. Don't have poor sperm health so will keep ph in mind but with another thing that gets good results. Thanks I was just wondering what it was :)
