Possible yeast infection and strange AF

Can't believe this is happening! CD 8 for me today. This is my first cycle after miscarriage, and we were planning to TTC and have been swaying hard again with food, diet and supps the last month, which I have found mentally very difficult to do as I am still so sad about our loss. Lots of things worrying me at the moment.

1. AF came pretty quickly after miscarriage - I had about ten days between spotting stopping and AF starting, in between which I appear from temps to have ovulated? But I'm concerned that this might simply not be possible and that this latest bleeding is just more of the miscarriage...

2. Assuming this is actually AF, I am now on day 8 of bleeding and the last few days it has been very strange - random light pulses of bleeding with little clots. I keep thinking it is over then a bit more comes out. Never had anything like this before. Is this normal for first AF post m/c?

3. Finally, and most worryingly, I have managed to irritate things down below and I am so frustrated about this. I was staying with my mum and AF came earlier than expected and very heavily on the night of c4, such that I had to use several of her large, non applicator tampons. It was a bit painful getting them in (sorry, tmi) and since then the whole area has been sore, itchy and inflamed. I have researched this loads and the only thing I can think is that I have managed to get a yeast infection. I tried yogurt directly applied for a couple of days and it didn't do much, so yesterday I took a single dose oral pill for thrush. Today it feels a bit better, but I am totally gutted that by taking something I will throw my sway. I guess if this weird bleeding ever stops I'd expect to ovulation in 1-2 weeks, and I don't know what to do. Mentally, I don't think I can keep swaying for another 4/5 weeks if we can't get an attempt in this cycle. I'm at breaking point.

Any thoughts and advice very welcome, I'm so sorry for the rant!

Thanks Atomic. I've read your wonderful essay on YI and swaying and I know it advises waiting if within two weeks of attempt but I'm not sure I can. I'm not even convinced that's what it is since I have no discharge and I think unusual to get it while having AF.

Ok. As you know I am going through most of the same thing. I am pretty sure you ovulated, and just had a shorter LP. I was researching recently and a shorter LP is completely normal after a MC. I too ovulated on CD18 after my loss. So 18 days after the very start of my MC, pretty quick right? My LP seemed to be average length for me. One day shorter than my usual but I have had that before. My AF (which I am still on ) was worse this month than usual, which I have also heard (read) is normal after an MC. So to me, I think what you are describing is normal!

It does sound to me like you have a yeast infection. I HATE those with a passion. I used to use a diva cup but I would always end up with a yeast infection every.single.month. so I cut that out. I still use it when I am swimming while on AF, but that's it. Canesten applied directly seemed to be the only thing that really helped.

Anyway, I'm not sure if I helped at all. I just really want to give you big hugs. I am right there with you, and I hope September brings us our rainbow BFPs.

I hate that you are going through this too, but at the same time it is lovely to not be going through it alone. Praying September is the month for us both!!!

So sorry for your loss Foxcubblue. After my miscarriage I also got a yeast infection immediately after my bleeding stopped. It think it was from all my hormones being out of whack, especially since I used to get itchy at the end of my periods sometimes when it was just brown spotting. I think it was a hormonal thing. I never had any discharge or anything either. I'm not big on meds and try and do everything naturally so I ended up doing a garlic suppository vaginally instead of using an OTC yeast med. That's what I always used when I got a yeast infection while pregnant and it works immediately.

Thanks essnce, I'm thinking whacky hormones are likely to be responsible - I was massively emotional yesterday and today have had a really bad breakout, so there are all sort of things going on! I've upped the garlic in my diet as read about that too for YI, I'm not normally one for taking medication at all but just felt at my wits end and like I wanted something that would work properly asap to clear this up and give me the best chance of getting on with my sway. I will bear the garlic suppository in mind if it happens again!

Oh Foxcb, I'm so sorry this is happening!! I hope it all gets resolved soon & you have an amazing BFP resulting attempt! I hate yeast infections, I get them quite often!

That essay was one of the first things I wrote so try not to take it too seriously till I have a chance to go back thru and update all of them.

Please go ahead and have attempt this month.

Don't worry about the treatment, it's ok. Also your lining can rebuild even as you are bleeding so don't worry about that either.
