Ugh every 4 days / atomic / bd timing help

I think I'm getting kind of sick of swaying. It took me forever to even get Af back and now it's taking me forever to ovulate. I started the cardio in mid May and I kind of have been doing the le diet since then but I love food and meat. So while it better than what I was eating before, I probably go over on the fat and sometimes the protein. Anyways, it's taking me forever to ovulate. It's important for me to have an accurate due date so I need to know close to when I ovulate. I'm trying to do every 4 days. I did get pg last cycle but it was a chemical.

Cd 22 (yesterday): Ewcm, High fertility (clear blue advanced opk), negative cheap opk, and we BD'ed at night
Cd 23 (today): Ewcm, high fertility (clear blue advanced opk), negative cheap opk but it is getting really close to positive.
Cd 24 (tomorrow): update: solid smiley this morning so peak ovulation

So should I bd on cd 25 (Friday)? I'm nervous I'll ovulate in the morning and miss the egg. Should I bd in the morning instead of the night?

This happened to me last cycle and I still got pg (but due to circumstances it was 5 days prior to ovulation). I'm going to have to go couch potato soon so I would love to get pg this cycle. And I also don't want to wait so long to ovulate next cycle. I'm also wondering if I need to drop the vitex.

I feel like a jerk bumping this. But I'm debating if I should dtd tonight or tomorrow morning. Even though I'm a cheater on the le diet I have had 5+ months of the cardio. My attempt if I did it tonight would be technically every 3 days which is better than every 2, I guess.

Some new info: this morning I got my smiley (solid)

I just took an OPK and 2pm and it's not exactly positive. It's my last one and I'm on vacation. I have one more of the clear blue advanced sticks that I can either do tonight or tomorrow. I'm not sure if today would be my ovulation day or if tomorrow will. If I ovulated today, I don't know if I should dtd because 2 days prior would be my one attempt.

I know I sound crazy And worried but I feel pretty calm. I just don't know when I should BD lol. I just don't know if I'm coming off the surge or if I'm just before my surge basically.

Atomic would say flip a coin, I bet.

This is why we're supposed to do either e4d or one attempt at opk and not mix the two though, but in the past, her opinion is usually that it's all about what you're comfortable with. A night bd on cd 22 with a solid smiley on cd24 should have you in with a good attempt for conception and if you have another attempt, it will be in the two attempt range. You aren't due for another until night on cd26, really. I'd hold out for this cycle if it were me.

Bumps don't get you answers sooner, that's the problem. I answer posts from oldest to newest unless one happens to catch my eye, and I simply cannot guarantee responses in the free forums - I try to get thru the posts in a timely manner but I can't guarantee it. Don't bump unless you have reason to believe that I did not see a post. If it's only been a few hours or a day, a bump won't get you anything other than a delayed response. I literally do not ever know if someone should BD or not, that is a crystal ball question that I simply cannot know. When in doubt, my usual advice is to attempt UNLESS you're just starting out with TTC (which you aren't). Do not ever wait for an answer from me, when in doubt, attempt.

Yes, I"d drop the vitex now.

The next "level" of TTC after every 4 days is every 4 days plus one more attempt at pos OPK. So in this case, if you BD on CD 24 (which I don't know if you did or not) then that would be in line with every 4 days plus one more at pos OPK.

:agree: If it's last minute, I would SO MUCH RATHER you guys flipped a coin and did what the coin said than sitting around debating pros and cons and writing threads about it. Never wait for me, don't overthink it, just flip a coin and be done with it. Not I nor anyone else can tell you what to do, there are just too many unknowns.

Just to clarify - if I HAD to make a schedule it would look something like this - but everyone PLEASE do not feel wedded to this, it's just a rough guideline. It's fine to skip steps or move forward quicker or whatever you want.

Most people should start off doing one attempt at pos. Then every 4 days, then every 3 days. Then, back to every 4 days plus one more attempt, then every 3 days plus one more attempt at pos. OPK, then SMEP.

Would it be dumb to take the clear blue advanced opk thing tonight and if it's still positive (peak) to just BD in the morning? But if it's blinky or negative, to BD tonight?

Cd 22: BD'ed at night
Cd 23: no bd
Cd 24: haven't BD'ed yet

Would the 4th day be CD 25 or CD 26?

Every 4th day to me::
1, not 2,3,4, 5, not 6,7,8, 9, not 10,11,12, 13, not 14,15,16.
So do one, skip 3, do another. I might be wrong though?

Oh ok, I was thinking cd25 would be the 4th day. I think for me the timing has been really bad the past 2 cycles and with an ovulation on day 25 it's just too much time and would take forever for me to ovulate and have another chance. I have no way of knowing when I will ovulate since it's been so irregular.

Unless you post in the actual Custom sway forum I cannot keep everyone straight (especially when your user name has "dreaming" or "pink" in it because about 50% of people have those in their names LOL.) So I can't guarantee a quick response even if you did have a plan, I"m sorry. It's just too much for me to track. Always post in the Custom Forum if you are a Custom Swayer and I check that forum at least once a day and usually more than once. :)

The rate at which your OPK go negative don't tell you when you'll ovulate. I think you're totally overthinking this. I do not know and cannot tell you with any level of confidence what will happen if you BD or don't BD on this day or that day. you may not get pregnant without an attempt. You may have been "set" for a girl and waiting means you may miss what was an ideal month and then next month may not be as good, if that makes any sense. There is just no way with the knowledge and technology we have, for me to know what the right thing to do is, and so I reiterate, flip a coin. All I could do is guess, and you may as well have the coin guess for you.

The "every 4 days" is not set in stone. Someone who wants to get pregnant more quickly might call it CD 26, another person may even say CD 27 to be absolutely SURE they are only getting in one attempt in fertile window. Most people would call CD 26 the 4 day pattern. (I pretty much consider CD 25 to be every 3 days, this is still not too shabby and some have done this)

I agree and this to me is something you need to keep in mind - if you're only GETTING a chance every 2 months it probably behooves you to step it up a notch and be in with a viable attempt every month, even if it means doing e4 plus 1 attempt or going to every 3 days.

Thanks atomic. That actually makes me feel better. I've always (from the few cycles I have to go by) ovulated late. I've only had a few cycles in the past 5 years. I ovulated on day 30 with my son (just getting off bc pills). Cd 21 with my second (first pp period), last cycle was cd 18 (and first pp and chemical pregnancy), and this cycle is cd 25. I don't know if I'm just a late ovulator, getting used to not breast feeding, the vitex, or the chemical last cycle.
