The Pill and Hormones and how long to wait?

I am busting to start TTC LOL but wondering, I came off the pill this cycle and AF has just left so now waiting to O... anyway... how long does it take for the pill hormones to leave your body? Would it be "boy friendly" to try this ovulation or would it be best to leave it to next cycle.

Just curious.... and impatient LOL

Ugh. As a fellow BCP lifer(assuming you are) I had 3 girls coming right off the pill so I would personally shy away from that. I know it is supposed to leave your system as soon as you stop, but I have 3 DDs!!

Did you fall right away after coming off? Do you think I should not try next cycle either and leave it even longer? xx

I did each time. I really don't know. It SHOULDN'T have any effect but I should all over myself 3 times and it would just make me nervous. I would want to be full out boy diet for at least 6 weeks off the pill if it were me trying.

Excellent - thankyou! We have been back on diet now for around 2-3 weeks now so come next cycle will be a good 6 -8 weeks on the diet. I will see how I feel in October I guess and decide then!

Did you sway with any of your girls if you do not mind me asking? x

I would wait to have 2-3 normal cycles off the pill. IMO the biggest thing is that the pill really dries up CM and you want optimal fluids for a boy sway.

It also gives your cycle time to get regular again if you want to go with any type of timing.

So maybe wait till Dec is the way to go then? I don't know if I can wait that long though :S

ive heard it makes girls too..never been on the pill. your plan of strong boy diet for at least 6 weeks is a great idea!

I think you should do the diet for a while too--so next cycle after this one. But I don't know about the pill... my sister conceived two boys while on the pill, but I still wouldn't risk it. It seems like more girls are pill babies.

Although another advantage would be that for you (in the Southern Hemisphere) you may be more likely to conceive a girl in October (because the girl peak for the Southern Hemisphere is opposite of the Northern) and if you DID wait till December, you'd be closer to the Southern Hemisphere boy peak months of Mar-May.

PS - I have heard of plenty of boys being born after or while on the Pill. I rem on IG some people even went onto the pill for a few months for swaying pink, and some of them did get opposites.

I was on FF today and seen a ton of charts that were "pregnant with boy" and "first cycle after pill". So, maybe atomic is right....you could get either.

I could hey.... there is no hard and fast rule I guess! I will definately not try October as I want to have one more cycle to at least track my ovulation iykwim? See how I feel come November :)
