Better to DTD in am or pm when ttc pink?

Im sure ive seen this somewhere before but i cant find the thread.

My DH asked me yesterday if its better we BD on the morning of our one attempt rather than the evening which would more than likely be at some point after a meal and kids in bed. So the morning might be better if my blood glucose levels are on the low side having not eaten since the night before??

Is there any diffs to BD in the am or pm when ttc girl?

I guess my only thinking is that i may not get a +opk in the am anyway and might only get a +opk in the arvo as that has happened to me before. So it might not make a diffs as ill be waiting for that +opk!

That's exactly what I was thinking too since I conceived all 3 of my boys by dtd in the evening and I would almost ALWAYS snack of choc, crisps etc ... So thinking I'm Gona give the morning a go where my blood glucose level would be the lowest!!!! I think it makes sense so going to give it a go anyway and fast from 5/6 nite before ...

Amelia - would you do morning straight after a +OPK? Ive read to not test the OPK's in the am but rather from midday till late arvo or up until 8pm or something like that...

It doesn't matter if you BD in the AM or PM, just do it whenever you have the chance after a pos. OPK. Trying to time it for when your blood sugar is low is a bit "swaycessive" IMO. Besides even if you DTD in the AM, by the time the sperm reaches the egg it would likely be several hours later after you've already eaten. Don't overthink it. :)

My friend sister has 3 boys and dtd at night with all 3 boys and with her #4 she dtd in the am and she got her girl. That's something that will be hard for me to try since my Dh is not home in the am.

If the time of day could possibly make any difference to the gender of baby conceived, we'd do diet one day only and DTD a certain time of day.

The reason we see best results with 12+ weeks on diet is because that's how long it takes to sway. NOTHING you do in one day matters. BD at the time of day that is least stressful for you.

The vast, vast majority of men and women both walking around on the planet were conceived at night.

:agree: plus, it's really NOT the actual level of your blood sugar that matters. we use that for a shorthand explanation whereby when your body is forced to burn stores of fat and muscle as fuel when your blood sugar drops (either from overrelease of insulin or because you've burned off the available carbs already). Your body does not like low blood sugar and immediately takes steps to rectify it, meaning that your blood sugar levels may actually be HIGHER in the morning even when you don't eat because your body had to burn off those stores to raise it.

It is not the actual measurable level of glucose in your blood that sways. It's the mechanism where your body has to burn those stores. THat's why we fast overnight and don't snack all day, that's why we do the exercise, etc.

Ok. Going to read this to DH. I would prefer the evening tbh and besides if we DTD in evening and sperm does take several hrs to travel.. well then my dinner would be well and truly digested!

It may even be LOWER an hour or two or three after you eat dinner than it would the next morning, because your body releases a bunch of insulin to help lower your blood sugar after eating.

It (meaning the number of your blood sugar readings) has never been shown to sway. IT's that overall forcing your body to burn those stores of fat/muscle for energy, over time over the 12 weeks + on LE Diet, sends that message to your body that food is scarcer and a girl may have a better shot.

I didn't even go into the fact that just DTD at a certain hour means NOTHING to when the egg is fertilized, but YES YES YES that could happen many hours after that anyway. :)

I'm going to stick to dtd in the morning, ive a long list of stuff I'm doing as it is so might aswell add this ... No harm in trying anyway!!! :-)

Just anecdotally, I DTD at lunchtime and got my DD, whereas both boys were at night, but I'm thinking that it's not so much the time of day that sways, but more that if you DTD during the day then you probably aren't going to lie around for hours - you are going to j&d because you gotta get on with your day. That's just my thinking.

Squigglepink sorry to answer your Qt I'm going to dtd the morning I get a positive ... I defi think there is something in it and loads of people have said on here do the opposite what you did to get your sons ... And I have 3 :-))) ... So who knows, it can't hurt that's for sure, not having my attempt until Aug!! Good point Familymatters!!!!!

RE doing the opposite -I really think you guys need to do what works for most of the people most of the time instead of this "do the opposite" mantra. I get that it seems logical at first but I really do think this approach undermines otherwise good sways. Let's say you were coming into TTC 80% likely to make boys, and then were doing things that either had nothing to do with why you got a boy, or were even swaying PINK for you. If you were doing stuff that took you from 80% likely to have a boy, to 60% likely to have a boy, it is STILL a pink sway, even though you ended up still more likely to have a boy. So to do the opposite of those things, not only would it not help, but it would make you MORE likely to have a boy yet again!!

I know it seems like things like the time of day you DTD can't hurt anything, but it is just another "control-freaky" detail to add to the mix and I'm telling ya, it's the people who do all these "can't hurt" things that end up getting sway opposites. The more you fight every minute of every day to control your universe and "sway pink" that is EXACTLY the type of stuff that messes with your head and inadvertently may sway blue. All the worrying over "time of day to DTD" and "how long to stay laying down to the precise minute" type of threads we have had this week - these things just CANNOT sway much if at all but the "making huge to do lists about swaying and TTC and then getting this big rush of succes/triumph emotions when you pull it off" is the kind of thing that DOES sway. I can all but pick out the people who will get opposites because of this one thing.

If you feel in your heart and soul that you HAVE to do this, ok, cool. But don't add a bunch of OTHER things like this trying to "do the opposite". if you're doing this, plus all this other control-freak stuff in some attempt to do the opposite of things that probably had nothing to do with why you got a boy in the first place (because most boys and girls were conceived in bed at night!!) you are only hurting your sway. Laid back sways where lifestyle changes just become second nature work. White-knuckled sways where you're juggling 1000 balls in the air all the time 990 of which don't even work anyway and it is taking this superhuman effort and constant concentration to pull it off make opposites. :/
