Should I try to get Clomid?

So, I've been swaying pretty much since last November. My cycles have definitely been affected by the diet/weight loss (I've lost just over a stone and was slim to begin with). My ovulation is now much later, gone from day 14 ish to between 18 and 22 now. On day 19 today and not even got EWCM yet which I usually get for a few days before. My EWCM has also dramatically reduced over the months. My luteal phase has also shrunk to 10 days and my period is much lighter and shorter. So, my question is...should I try to get Clomid for next cycle to maybe bring ovulation forward a bit and help boost it and possibly increase luteal phase or will it make things worse for me (potentially thin lining with the lighter periods?) Any advice would be most welcome. I know Clomid is great for a girl sway but ultimately I'd be taking it to help me get pregnant as just want to be pregnant now so would it help with this?

Maybe you should try to stop losing weight or stay on the higher amounts of cal, fat and protein of the diet so it doesn't affect your fertility too much. I've read that clomid works really well but i don't know if it'll help in your case, maybe you could ask your doctor and get it prescribed. I'm just new into all this swaying world, lets wait and see if anyone else can help you more :)

Yes yes yes yes yes always try to get Clomid.

Are you doing the full fat dairy daily, 4-6 eggs a week, and red meat/salmon? Have you given up on fiber?

Are you eating 2000 cals a day? We need you to eat more. That is the key here. Clomid can help but you need to eat more right away.

And about the lighter periods - tons of us, myself included, noticed that and then went on to have a perfectly fine pregnancy. The month I conceived my daughter, I had a very short, light period that lasted barely a day and I still conceived that next month perfectly fine. The light period = poor lining link is not a thing for most people.

Ok, I will book appointment with doctor and see what they say. They've been very dismissive so far but might give it to me just to get me off their back!! I'm really trying to eat more in general and more dairy, eggs, red meat etc. Not sure I'm quite getting to 2000 calories every day but I am managing to maintain my weight, not losing anymore. Finally got some EWCM and think I'm either going to ovulate today (thurs) or tomorrow (fri) - we BD on Tues night, should we try again tomorrow morn (fri) or leave it to tomorrow eve (E4D)?

I'd try sooner because it's time to pull the trigger and get things done!

CD23 and still no ovulation - what's going on?! GP appointment today - fingers crossed I get a helpful one this time but not holding out much hope. Am slightly (very) terrified about prospect of twins though with clomid....

GP said no to clomid so will just keep trying!

Yep I am sleeping. It's very odd, I wonder if I have ovulated but temps are just taking a while to go up? I'll keep eating and BDing - even hubby is now saying 'do we really have to do it again?' which is unheard of!!!

that is entirely possible, it does happen. There's a reason why we use the pattern overall and not any one or two days' temps - it's common to have one or two days where your temps are lower or higher and that can throw the pattern off.

I'm sorry to vent but I'm really down and I don't know where else to turn. Still no temp rise/no ovulation - really feel so lost and sad. Time is marching on and the age gap is getting bigger and I feel like I've brought this on myself. Can't see a way out, as feels like any changes I make to be more fertile are going to sway blue. Spent all this time and effort trying to conceive a girl and it's all for nothing. I'm sorry, I've tried to be as positive as possible throughout this process but I just feel so sad that I took things too far (I really didn't feel I was being that strict but I obviously was). The only way I can see out is to give up on the idea of a third at all and just enjoy what we have, but that's very hard to cope with.

It's not all for nothing though. Think of it like the radio dial. You just have to gradually dial it back the other direction. It's ok to slowly make those changes over time. I have people do this all the time and they DO get girls. What I do NOT want you to do is hang on and on, refusing to change anything, because you will eventually (and I can tell by your posts that day is coming soon) decide that enough is enough and you will give up everything in one fell swoop. Please please please start changing some things, more cals, more fat, less exercise, it doesn't need to be a complete 180 degree turn, just eat a little more, and exercise a little less and then your body is already working to change things and it will take those little cues as a sign it is ok to get pregnant. :heart:

Onelastsway: Curious what your GP said when you went? I am in the same position, been trying for going on 6 months. Recently started spotting around my periods which are pretty much nonexistent and I don't even need to use a tampon my entire period. I also ovulated 4 days after my period ended this cycle which was 3 days earlier than normal.

My doctor is sending me for an ultrasound and blood work to test my hormones. I am hoping I can be told that my body is where it needs to be and just need to keep trying and that there is a very good likely hood that having a baby is still possible for me.

I can't bring myself to give up my sway just yet.. I have thought about it many times but I really really want that baby girl.

I also sometimes feel like I've taken it all too far and the joke will be on me when I can never give my little boy a sibling because I got gender obsessed .

Anyway I'm starting to put some weight back on. No good being in perfect pink condition if that also means you're not very fertile

If anything this has been a good thing in that it makes me appreciate what I have got already. The GD also seems to be far less intense. I feel like I'd be ok with another boy and have even picked out his name. I'm scared that this will all change once I get a BFP tho

Remember though, ladies - it is not about being INfertile, it's about being less than optimally fertile. Ladies conceive girls every day getting pregnant the first month out. You don't need to be in absolute worst condition and not ovulating, you just need to slightly (SLIGHTLY!!) dial it in that direction. So if you go too far, it is still ok to slightly dial it back towards fertility - it does NOT undo your sway to do that!!

The doc wasn't very helpful and just keeps saying my progesterone was fine when they tested it so I am ovulating blah blah blah - going to check LH and something else but needs to be done day 1-3 of cycle and think I will be abroad this month - although who knows when I will get AF as not sure I've even ovulated yet! We have kept up E4D and I have been eating a lot more fat as been away but still trying to stick to basic rules so hoping body might have ovulated whilst I was away - will check temp in morn. Thank you for the reassurance Atomic - good to know I can dial back the fertility a bit without being totally blue friendly. That's definitely what I am trying to do xx

I am doing the hormone blood work on day 3 of my cycle and then again on day 21 to test my progesterone. Maybe it's that again?

The docs are useless, just useless with this stuff.

Keep on truckin with e4d even if your temp does seem up. 110% just keep doing it even if you're certain you've ovulated. This has completely saved the month for people and not a few times, either.
