Pregnant with little boy, dealing with GD by planning girl sway

After nearly six months of calling DS2 she, mommy's girl, and little lady, we found out on Monday my mover and shaker is a little boy. I had no idea about swaying, not really, until this week. It is spring break, so I've been home with my 2yo DS1 and trying to figure out "what I did wrong" apparently Chinese Gender Calendars, and the hairline of your previous child is not enough to sway. Ha!

This is my thought for swaying girl in late 2019 *I have to kind of gear myself up because going vegetarian will be a hard thing for me... we are BIG meat eaters around here...*

I've read a LOT of atomic's posts and it seems like the bottom line to conceive quickly with a good chance of a girl is as follows:

1. A vegetarian diet with low protein and low fat. My husband is 100% on board for this and has even agreed to swapping ground turkey or ground chicken in meals that are usually red meat most nights of the week as long as he still gets to have a burger every now and again. :)

2. 6 sessions of 1 hr cardio (does it matter what type? I like a non-arm elliptical thing, but I guess I can train myself to run or do the stairclimber or something instead. Insight? Also don't mind switching it up...) Which will be necessarily in addition to taking my boys and hubby swimming 3-4 times a week. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Cardio and I was so stuck on losing weight prior to going on vaca when conceiving this little man that I did lots of boy stuff - low impact weights, tons of protein, tons of fat... etc. Looking forward to an untold number of months of Monday-Saturday Cardio. <3

3. One attempt on positive OPK. -- Question on EWCM, I get it... a lot... like TMI too much. Would just trying to expell as much EWCM prior to baby dancing be enough? Or, knowing I get sooooo much, should I try something like a douche/jelly? I don't want to introduce any new chemicals/hormones if possible (I have had three recurrent miscarriages before DS1 and may have had a loss before conceiving DS2. I am on 1 baby aspirin a day for recurrent miscarriages while trying to conceive through 36 weeks per doc). What is/are your thoughts on EWCM trying to sway girl? What's the best way to deal with excessive CM when you make more than is necessary? I'll do a five minute rest and then J&D wipe not SET.

With all of that said, my husband can abstain for about a week before he gets antsy, but we have to keep in mind AF when neither one of us are interested. O usually happens between 14 and 20 days.. Is it okay if he releases (either with me or on his own) every few days with a "deposit" only on that O-1? Does that help the sway or is FR/CFR/abstain really have that big of an impact? Or am I looking at blue if we do the deed w/o abstaining or frequent release? I know that e4d is an option, but I don't want to go that route until we've been TTC for a few months with the one off. I think I can last on vegetarian for 10ish months with some cheats. It LOOKS like the one attempt plus diet/exercise are the biggest helpers in swaying, but maybe I'm reading it wrong. Is there anything that I'm missing?

4. Last question, how long does it take to conceive while swaying? I have an average TTC of 2-4 cycles. I don't mind it taking longer and I know healthy couples can take up to a year to conceive, but we would LIKE to be pregnant at the end of 2019 or beginning of 2020 for a late 2020 pink-baby. I'm not sure I'm reading it right, but it looks like even with swaying pink and diminished chances of conception, pink sways take 3-4 cycles. (We have this weird goal of being pregnant every year so our kids are 2ish years apart... 2015-2016, 2017-18...)

I know that Swaying isn't a 100% and that even if I do all of the jellies and douches and crazy there are no guaruntees. I know I get super stressed out TTC (my mom was super fertile, had nine pregnancies and eight kids and people DEFINITELY question why I'm 27 and only have one with number 2 on the way). I need to do the MINIMUM possible to MAXIMIZE sway.

Thank you for this website and any and all insight. I was surprised I wasn't sad with GD when we saw he was a boy (and that was the first thing he showed us... "Ma, I ain't no girl!") but I did start to worry I'd never get a girl (there's been no girls in my husband's line for a long time, but I did learn that the "sperm gene" is a myth which made me feel better... made me realize it is environmental which lead me to sway info we all have very boy friendly lifestyles...). We agreed that no matter what we'll try for four kids, so I have two chances to sway and get it right or I'm SUPPOSED to have a brood of boys who will bring me eternal joy and happiness.

Ha ha yes, I found that out the hard way with DS 3 as well. :/ Literally every old wives' tale said girl, but he is the most boyingest boy who ever boyed LOL. :)

1):agree: but do be aware that it isn't just "low protein, low fat" - you need to stay in the limits of the LE Diet. It is not enough to just eat low pro/fat because it's even more important to be sure you're getting ENOUGH of those things. the minimums are even more important than the maximums because the minimums are designed to ensure you can get and stay pregnant and have a healthy pregnancy.

2)Whatever cardio YOU like and will stick with! :agree: It's the most effective non-medical tactic there is. Do be sure you start off eating max limits (so 1800-2000 cals, 50-60 g protein and fat) to be sure you don't lose too much too fast when you're doing the 6 days of exercise.

3)The douches and jellies have not worked. We are moving away from the idea that you have to dry up EWCM totally because it really has not seemed to be at all predictive of whose sways succeed and whose don't, and you also need at least some EWCM to get pregnant with a baby of either gender. It may very well be that there are changes in EWCM that are not visible with the naked eye that are swaying even in the presence of EWCM. Diet has also really dried up EWCM for a lot of people.

Continue aspirin since that is your doc's suggestion.

None of the frequency patterns have seemed to make a difference. it's fine to start off using one or the other of them but honestly, they've been really poor results for the amount of trouble they cause, plus they cut odds of conception with one attempt significantly. So YES you absolutely can have DH do regular release every 2-4 days OR just let him "do what he does" and then keep that one unprotected attempt for a few months to start. :agree: I very much prefer you guys start with one attempt and give that a few months before going to e4d.

yep, you have that right. LE Diet longer than 12 weeks plus fiber/coffee/alcohol, cardio exercise, one attempt, and Clomid or Femara if you can get them are the best pink sways. All the rest of the stuff (frequency of release, timing, antihistamine, douche/jelly, supplements) have fallen by the wayside as our results with them have demonstrated they are not helping and in fact may be hindering us - since people have such a hard time getting pregnant doing all those things, they have a tendency to panic after a few BFN and instead of just dropping the things that haven't worked, they end up dropping EVERYTHING and in fact even swaying blue because they get so anxious that they haven't conceived. So it's better to focus on the things that are working and let go of the stuff that isn't.

4)We have an average of 3 months to conception. I put a strong emphasis on conception on this site and not going on for countless months trying to dot every I and cross every T doing "perfect" sways (which aren't perfect, they just include lots of things that don't even work). At 27 and with proven fertility I'd not worry a bit about conceiving while swaying, I think you'll do so easily.

Yay! Thanks atomic! <3 I can't do coffee or alcohol (religious reasons) but I will definitely add fiber to my planned regimen! So glad to find this site, I've started sharing it with ladies who have had two boys in a row and are hoping for a girl in the future. :)

Can I drink like diet coke or diet pepsi or something similar to get the caffeine in? Does it help sway or is it a waste w/o coffee?

I drunk diet coke but I had it alongside the black coffee that I was drinking, I'm sure its probably worth adding it in but atomic will know better than me

Could you drink decaf coffee? I think atomic says it's possible that decaf coffee sways as well and that it's not the caffein which sways but something else in the coffee. I mix my coffee with decaf coffee in the tww just to be cautious.

What Verena said. We don't even know it's the caffeine that sways. It may very well be something in the coffee itself. I don't think diet drinks sway and it seems we've had pretty good success even without them. If you like them, drink them in moderation but don't feel like you have to include it (Atomic thinks it's possible artificial sweeteners may sway blue for some people in large amounts). Coffee has gotten great results so definitely include it if you can.

I personally think it's a waste of time and have even speculated that artificial sweeteners in high amounts may possibly sway blue for some people. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gend...me-thread.html So it's fine 2-3 servings a day if you want, but I don't think it's the caffeine in the coffee that is swaying. I think it's something having to do with blood sugar itself (coffee lowers blood sugar) and so I don't think that diet soda has the same effects. Sorry!

Yes to all those things. Most of the stuff you read about online for swaying doesn't work and pretty much only keeps you from getting pregnant. We are getting good results focusing on the things that work and either skipping the things that don't, totally, or doing them for a month or two if you can't stand not trying them, but then letting them go sooner rather than later.
