What do you think of my 2 opks! Which one should I trust ? So nervous .
clearblue is positive (time: 12 noon).. following your instructions I should have one attempt today one tomorrow morning and then one at night .
If opks(cheapie) is not positive what should I do ?

Did you retest with a cheapie? Reason I said trust the digi is that some people don't get a proper pos on a cheapie opk. Is this your first cycle using them?

What I did is ... dtd last night after a solid positive of digital . I tested cheapie 8pm and it was a little bit darker from my image posted up here. So that made me more confident! !!!

For OPK, always go off the FIRST positive. Don't wait for all OPK to be in agreement. Better to start attempts too soon than too late. So I would have had you start your attempts last night, if you didn't, start them ASAP and try to still get in 3 attempts!
Coco, how do you know what day you're ovulating and why do you think it's on different days?

I think is on different days because my opks are never positive the same days. (14/15/16) ! But I can’t be 100% sure . I feel I’ve been experiencing a certain pattern this several months .Quote:

Yesterday I had a positive opk day 14 (12 noon) and started cramping 6 pm .. dtd 11pm . I think I can be close to ovulation for pregnancy .. but as I said I can’t be 100% sure .
What do you think of the cramping is it a good sign? What do you think overall?

Ok gotcha. Is your period coming on the same cycle day or changing when the OPK change?
Cramping is super normal, it unfortunately doesn't tell us when you ovulated but I do want you to be having attempts!
My period moves always depending on opks. If a positive is day 12 .. period will always come 14 days later. It’s a regular pattern I mean last month I had a positive two days before (day13) and my period was on day 26 (usually I have 28 days cicles)Quote:

I don’t understand something.. when the Lh drops .. what does that mean? That the egg is no longer there or that is definitely out there ? How many days does a egg remain after a drop on LH. I feel so uncertain !
Do you have any articles on why more attempts sway boy ? Maby I can feel more calmed and relaxed reading them . BTW ! no matter the gender of hopefully this baby . I enjoyed a lot reading your essays ! [emoji854]

Please don't wait - have all the attempts you can have in the fertile window. Having sex 2-3 times in the fertile window has been very blue friendly for us. Yes you're thinking of Shettles which has been debunked. It's normal to have more than one smiley! Most people get two flashy smiley and two solid smiley!
The LH dropping doesn't really mean either of those things. The LH surge is really separate from ovulation. The LH surge is a message that your body sends to itself saying "ok, time to ovulate." It is like your boss giving you a note to call a client - the note just means that sometime when you are able to, you need to call that client. It doesn't mean you have already called the client, it just means that you need to. So you can throw the message away and not have called the client yet, or you can call the client and your boss then still gives you more messages without realizing that you already did it. It's the same way with LH surges in positive OPKs - they do not mean you have already ovulated, and you can get a negative test and still not have ovulated yet, or you can keep getting positive OPK even after you've ovulated. The LH surge is just the message, and then your body does what it's going to do on its own timetable.
So, I can't tell you if when your LH drops, if your egg is still there, or if it's even been released yet. We just can't know. All we can do is use averages, which is that about 36 hours after the first LH surge, the average number of people will ovulate around then. Some are sooner, some are later.
We don't know why more attempts sway blue. None of us ever guessed that could be the case, but then in our pink sway results several years ago, we saw a very, very clear effect where people who had 1 attempt were getting girls 75% of the time, people who had two were getting girls 60% of the time, and then people who had 3 attempts were getting girls only 40% of the time (even with otherwise good pink sways!!) We also have seen that the people who do Shettles timing for blue (one attempt on O Day) for blue got terrible results and many of our opposites were in people who could only do one attempt for blue. We immediately changed our recommendations on this basis and our results have gone up and have stayed up for those who can follow the recommendations (some people can't, or won't). Some scientists have speculated that exposure to hormones in semen may make women more fertile and I suspect it has something to do with that.

When you have time .. can you explain to us how many time does sperm takes to meet eggg?
Some say 15 minutes some say 24 hours and some say 7 days ! (I know 7 days is the time our body takes to make a fetus) but I don’t think sperm takes 7 days to travel to egg.

I know, I so wish they would come up with some technology that we could use to tell us for sure when we ovulated! But alas all we have are OPK, which are not that great, unfortunately.
Yes I can explain about the sperm. Some sperm are really fast and get to the egg almost right away, but then they all die. Scientists don't know the purpose of those sperm. Then more sperm will come to the egg over the course of time (within a few hours) but most of them are dormant, they are sleeping and can't fertilize an egg. They have to "capacitate" which means they have a protective cap that feeds them while they are asleep and keeps them alive longer, because once they capacitate, they die very quickly. This process of capacitation is puzzling because some sperm will capacitate in about 4 hours, but many others stay dormant longer. So there are always some sperm awake and some sperm asleep, until they all die, because that way there are always some sperm waiting and ready to fertilize the egg.
The "24 hour" idea causes a lot of trouble and confusion for people. Some people say that after ovulation you have 24 hours for the sperm to fertilize the egg. But this is not the case. 24 hours is a hypothetical number, that is based on an imaginary amount of time for the egg to survive after ovulation, for people to use when they are trying to avoid pregnancy. It is all but certain that eggs do NOT live 24 hours, possibly only as little as 8-12 hours, and that they are not able to be fertilized even less than that. The reason we say "24 hours", again, is for people who don't want to get pregnant, so they can avoid having sex on days they could be fertile. So it's meant to be a conservative, imaginary amount of time that an egg could theoretically survive so they do not have sex in that time frame and can't conceive. It was never meant to be any kind of guideline for people who are trying to get pregnant at all and it's a number that I wish everyone would forget about! You need sperm waiting for the egg BEFORE ovulation because it needs to capacitate and be waiting when the egg arrives. We can't wait until ovulation occurs, then have sex, then the sperm has to capacitate, and then hope the egg lives that long!!! It is a bad idea based on a misunderstanding of the "24 hour" suggestion.
The 7 day idea is a hypothetical amount of time sperm might possibly be able to stay alive in your reproductive tract. Some scientists have claimed they retrieved living sperm 7 days after intercourse from the Fallopian tubes. But we don't know for sure if this is even true (who knows if the couples in question really went 7 days or not!) and we also do not know if those sperm were able to fertilize an egg (they probably were not.) Studies have found that conceiving from sex anything more than 3 days before ovulation was unlikely, and the further you go, the more unlikely it is. 7 days before ovulation has like a one in a million chance of conception (if that, even - it may be impossible and then the handful of people who say this happened to them, ovulated sooner than they thought or had a birth control failure they are discounting). So it's one of those things you read online sometimes but again, it's really meant as more of a warning for people who are trying to prevent pregnancy and was never meant in any way as advice for people trying to conceive.
