Help me with my sway

Hi all,

I'm planning to ttc a baby boy which will be my last baby in december. Here's my plan. Please your input will be highly appreciated.

I already started a boy friendly diet- green tea, lemon/lime water, a lot of meat, chicken, potatoes, cabbage, oatmeal, sausage, banana, v8 drink etc

for supplements, i plan to take-

epo 1000mg 3 times a day af-o
folic acid 2400mcg everyday af-o
fish oil, 1000mg 2 imes a day af-o
robitussin 400mg af- 3 days after o
l-arginine 500mg everyday af-o
soy- not sure on how to take this
gelatin 1 pkt 3 times daily af-o
bs drink af-o

plan to abstain 3 days before o and bd 24-36 after +opk
dh will drink coffee an hour before attempt.
will do bf an hour before attempt

so what do u think, sounds like a good plan, is there anything missing?

I was under the impression that you would take Soy Isoflavones to help you O if you have trouble like Clomid kind of, so like you take it like CD 3-7, in a similar dose 100mg-ish supposed to sway blue :) I am trying to put together my sway too...kinda nervous. But yours looks Great! GL, FX, blue dust to you !

Be careful with the l-arginine, I used it last cycle and it dried me up.
I usually get 2-3days of EWCM but last month on the l-arg I only had 1-2hrs of EWCM

Hi kobytoby, i am also going to ttc a boy in December. I am practically on the same diet as you, however i have decided to not cut out calcim completely, i still have full fat milk on oats in coffee and some cheese. I take most of the same supplements too, only ones i also take that i dont see on your list are Vit D, wheatgrass, brewers yeast, flaxseed oil and a prenatal called elivit. I did start on L-arg, but it really messed with my cycle so now only DP takes that. Your timing looks good, are you only going to do a 1 shot wonder? I will probably do the o-2 + o... not completely sure yet. Also with my sway i have looked at ions and decided that i will burn incense everyday from af - o, i thought it cant hurt to try and i quite like the smell. They say lifting weights is also good to do for boys, but i must admit i am a bit lazy there, i do some calf raises, sit ups and push ups occasionally, maybe i will do more leading up to Dec. Anyway i am really excited for you and i really look forward to hearing how your attempt goes, any idea when O is for you in Dec? Mine is around the 25th-30th.

I was going to do 1 time only BUT I got my boy from DTD a few times in one day so wanted to try that but a few people said that isn't a good idea for boys cause it lowers sperm count.
I'm confused I don't know what I want to do now.

Do you know exactly after +opk you ov?? Only be careful your not bd#ing after your cm has changed back to creamy, for me this is girl zone:) How many days of +opk do you get? If only one, then I would go for it then:agree:

Thanks, I'm nervous too. hope it works the first time so that I won't have to do it all again. Taking soy because I heard it sways blue. I hope it doesn't mess with my cycle.

Forgot to add that. I'm also doing nuts and a lot of eggs. I was under the impression that milk sways blue. Thought I'll cut it off but havent been successful so far.

Wow! you sure are taking a lot more supplements than I am. Planned on cutting calcium out but just wasnt able to. what exaclty did L-arginine do to your cycle, lengthen ovulation time? Might consider cutting it out if it will have a strong effect on my cycle. I'm like you too, too lazy to lift weights. I've been so busy lately I havent even been getting any exercise in at all. O for me should be around dec 8-12 but dont know if the supplements would affect the O time. How does o-2 work? i thought of just bding once this cycle and if it doesnt work then go to plan b (dont know what it is now though)

Is there a way to actually determine when exactly after +opk you ov? I usually get 2 days of +opk, so what do you think. should that affect when I plan to bd?

Will the EPO and Guaifenisin help to prevent the drying effect of L-arginine or should I just drop it off my list?

For me the L-Arg turned my very regular 34 day cycle into 42 days, so i did not have AF in the whole of October, and just pushed everything back for me, i was looking at O on the 10th of Dec, but now im looking at the 25th. O-2 means you abstain for 3 - 5days, then 2 days befor O you DTD and then again on the day of O. I have just learned about this timing method, still unsure what im going to do with the timing because i dont know exactly when O is, i only know when i get a positive OPK.

If you are taking the L-arg to raise testoserone, i read that Vit D can raise it too.

I would think if you get 2 days then you should aim for the 2nd day:agree: Do you notice your ewcm? If you do, then keep an eye on it, if it starts to go creamy or lessen then your prime boy time may have passed and you could be moving into the more hostile cm timing. remember you have to add 4 hrs for the swimmers to get to where they need to be:agree::)

I've not heard too much good stuff about the L'arg, but I would recommend the Vit D also:agree:

L-arg didn't lengthen my cycle but it did dry me up, but I only started taking it last month and started it 12 days before O

elp, are u saying that it takes about 4 hrs for a sperm to find and penetrate an egg? i was just about to ask this!

Does anyone know if the gelatin capsules are just as good as the knox brand gelatin packets and how to take them? I bought the gelatin packets but I'm thining of switching to the capsules.

We have been having mixed results with l-arg. Some people are having issues with their CM drying up and their O being delayed. Proceed with caution and if it affects you badly, no worries, just give it to your husband.

You need to take that level of folic acid ALL month long and also all through the entire first trimester of pregnancy, and then very gradually cut back to the amount in your prenatal.

I think it would be nice if you could lift weights 4-5 times a week. It will only help your sway and also minimize the amount of weight gain that some people have experienced.

Also, be sure to eat breakfast and 2-4 snacks plus 3 meals a day. Protein and carbs at every meal.

8-48 hours afte rfirst pos opk with average of 36 hours. DTD 12 hours after first positive opk if you want to do just one attempt. If you want to do two attempts, DTD the day of your positive and then again sometime the next day. DTD only twice in a row, esp. when separated by several hours, will not sway pink for you - pink swayers have to do frequent BD every day for 7-10 days for it to sway pink.

It takes 4 hours for even the fastest sperm to capacitate and it cannot fertilize an egg before that happens. most sperm take longer, and they go in waves so some are always capacitating so at any point if an egg shows up, there will be somebody there and capacitated to fertilize it.

thanks a lot atomic. I have one mre question- does DHEA sway blue and how do you take it. I have decided to drop l-arginine from my sway. I dont want to offset my cycle too much. also can I take the gelatin capsles instead of the packets?

I just read the essay on soy and it said not to take soy with epo. so should i take the soy first and then the epo?

Take the EPO during the months you are not making your attempt, then drop the EPO the month you're going to use the soy.

Personally for a boy I think EPO is 1000 times better than soy.

Yes, you can take gelatine caps but you have to take a LOT to equal the amount in the packet and it's costly.

DHEA does sway blue. Follow the directions on the bottle and start with the smallest amount possible which I think is 25 mg.

Don't take it unless you are in your very late 30's-40's tho because you don't need it and it can mess you up by making too much testosterone which will interfere with conception.

Thanks for advise. AF started on d 22nd and I just want to be sure I get everything right. Tried d gelatin packet and I almost gagged and that doesn't happen to me very often. I don't think I can make myself take that 3x a day. D gelatin I got contains 1300mg a capsule and I am taking 10 capsules a day. I don't know if that's enough and that's why I was thinking of adding a low dose DHEA to it. I'm just 30. Do u know how much gelatin is contained in a packet? I want to get all this right but I think I'm already going into a panic mode. I think I ovulate 16cd- 20cd.

If you are 30, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you take DHEA. You already make enough all on your own. It is not safe for you and may harm your odds of conception.

Gelatin is not a prereq for conceiving a boy - if you're taking some via capsules, then that's enough (sounds like you're taking plenty BTW!!) You can also EAT the gelatin by making it into tasty Jello squares (if you use a lot of gelatin, the squares will be stiffer and contain more gelatin.)

Thanks atomic. O came a little earlier than I anticipated this month probably because of the soy. Got a +opk this morning, only caught it because i decided to do the opks everyday after AF since I still had loads of the internet cheapies. Plan to dtd tonight and hope what I did would be enough. Keeping my fingers crossed and praying.

Oh soy can def do that (for others, it delays O! :p)
