And now the worrying sets in...help?

So a little background on me. I’ve been cutting back tremendously in the amount of calories I’m consuming since Feb this year. My lifestyle before swaying was completely boy friendly which seems resulted in my little 20 month old blessing. A couple months ago I added the 60 minute a day exercise into the mix and started actively trying two months ago. So far no luck, but I know that this can take a while. I’m only starting to get worried because I was looking over my calendar of the past few months and I’ve realised my cycles are starting to get shorter. And i think I’m ovulating later in them which means a short luteal phase? I’m using CBOPK and am currently on CD16 and it’s still only on ‘high’ fertility. If I have a typical 27 day cycle this month then my LP will be short and will that lower any change of a BFP? From looking over my calendar before I started changing diet and exercise my LP was ‘normal’, like 14 days or so. I’m hoping I can get some advice on this. Anyone been through something similar? Iv lost about 8-9kg over the past couple months but my BMI is still ‘healthy’ At 22.
I’m sorry for rambling I’m just not sure what I can do to help make LP longer. And I don’t fancy ruining all my hard work and eating loads or giving up the exercise in order to make it longer, unless I’m told that’s what I have to do.

No it doesn't necessarily mean a short luteal phase. When you ovulate late, your period then comes late. Your FP and LP are separate from each other. So when your FP is longer or shorter than normal, your LP just gets tacked onto the end of that. Now, it is possible to develop both a short/long FP and a short LP at the same time, which can happen with swaying, but given your BMI I don't think we need to worry just yet. Can you post a link to your chart?

Most of the time your body will fix short LP all on its own. But it may help for you to add in a serving of full fat dairy every day, 4-6 eggs a week, and a serving of salmon if you like it, red meat if you don't. And drop fiber too.

The good news is, even with a pretty short LP it's still possible to get pregnant. Even 8-10 days is long enough. So many times people will panic over LP of 12 days and it's really not an issue at all.

It’s interesting You said that late ovulation can bring on a later period however for the past few months my cycle has gone down from like 28 days down to about 25 so I’m worried that my period isn’t coming later, it’s coming earlier which is detrimental to the length of my LP.

I love salmon and red meat and dairy and have given it all up, but if I have it will that ruin my sway? Or should I just focus on this rather than my sway now? Also should I reduce my exercise down from 6 days to 4 days a week. I read online that excessive exercise can alter cycles.

Yes I know, I was just trying to explain how they operate independently from each other. So if you ovulate early, your LP is then tacked onto the end of whenever you O.

You can have:

Late O with normal length LP (period would come late)
or early O wiht normal length LP (period would come early)
or on time O with short LP (period would come early)
or late O with short LP (period could come early, on time, or late)
Or early o with short LP (period would come super early)

Without seeing your chart I can't really sound off on what option I think is happening. Why do you think you're ovulating late? If your ovulation is on time, then a 3 day shorter LP is really not usually an issue (provided that it's normally 14 days).

Re whether you will "ruin" your sway...if you can't get pregnant you have no chance at a girl. I have TONS of people do the dairy, eggs, and salmon routine and they do get girls doing that. But if that feels too scary to you, then do it in increments...do the dairy and then 3 eggs a week, skip the salmon. Or even less than that. And also drop fiber, can't rem. if I mentioend that or not. You may just be getting not enough fat. Since your BMI is still good, we have some wiggle room if you prefer to make the changes more gradually.

I would have you add in the foods before reducing exercise. Think of this as a radio dial - we've gone too far one direction, now we need to turn back just a smidge the other direction People's instincts are to panic and start changing everyting all at once but there's no need to do that, all you need to do is do a few little things and then your body will be working to fix things as well, just needs the raw materials (fat and calories) to do that.

I think I’m ovulating late because I’m on CD17 and I’m still getting the flashing smiley on clerblue tests. It’s my fifth flashing smiley in a row and still no peak. This is different from my previous months. Until last month I was going straight from low fertility to peak! I only saw the flashing smiley last month and this month iv had nothing but low or flashing, no peak yet. I’d like to think something is wrong with my test kit but it seems the world seems to swear by them so it’s probably me that’s a bit odd, not the kit.
I’ll re-introduce those foods and keep the exercise. Thank you again for your help.

But did this happen last month? If you only saw flashy, you really don't know when you ovulated.

If you're on CD 17 and then O late, you don't know that you will have a short LP that month. Your LP will be tacked onto the end of that. It's likely you will still get a peak and then ovulate and then have LP tacked onto that. It is just not possible for me to be sure you have a short LP and if you do, how short it really is (keeping in mind that anything from 10 days or more is definitely long enough to end in conception)

The Clearblues are not infallible. We get confusion with them all the time, it's not just you!

I'd still def. have you make the changes in your diet to hopefully help you keep ovulating!

I got my peak this morning (CD18) so I’ll see what happens with this cycle. If I’m going to have a 26 day cycle like the previous two months then that might not be good for an LP but I’ll see how it goes.
I’m deffo gonna re introduce some foods back into my diet though

Hi atomic. AF came this morning which meant my LP was 12 days this cycle which is a relief. Not sure why my ovulation took so long but it feels nicer to have a 30 day cycle like I used to rather than the 25/26 day cycle I’ve been experiencing recently. Must be all those eggs I consumed these past couple weeks! I’ll stick to the dairy and eggs and hopefully get my BFP this month. Thanks again for your advice!
