Oh BBB, I can't believe he's almost here!!!! I hope you have a smooth, easy delivery!

Wellll it took a while but he arrived today (friday) in the birthing pool 3 weeks early weighing 7lbs 12! Feels so strange but he is just adorable. I'm still in the hospital so will try to post a pic when I have decent Wi-Fi!!

Felicity got her lip and tongue ties clipped yesterday afternoon. Now she seems really confused at how to latch onto both me and bottles. I don’t recall my other kids having these issues once clipped, but they were also older at the time, like 3-4 months old instead of 2 weeks old. I’m hoping she gets it figured out soon. Her doctors are all up my butt about her “poor” weight gain, which is actually decent weight gain considering her feeding issues and her eating 4-6 oz less than they want her to. She was 5 lb 3 oz at birth, dropped to 4 lb 12 oz, and was back up to 5 lb 3 oz on Friday at 13 days after birth. Monday she was 5 lb 6.5 oz at her ENT appointment. I have to take her in for another weight check today and I am so over it. She is gaining just fine on my breast milk alone, but they want me to add formula to it to increase the calories to make her gain more. All this does is make it so I can’t breastfeed and am tied to a pump all day long, my supply goes to crap, and I end up completely discouraged, quit, and put my kids on formula full time. For being a certified baby friendly hospital that supports breastfeeding, they sure go out of their way to sabotage everyone’s attempts at it.

Ignore them, my breastfed babies were always small and my doctor told me as long as they are back at their birth weight by 2 weeks old then it’s fine. Don’t let them bully you. She will gain. Her weight gain seems good to me.

You could never take too many photos of someone as precious as she is!!! Do you feel a bit sad that she is your last? I'm ok at the minute, but I think I may feel upset later when he is a bit older.

Good! How are you? I noticed there's a few ladies who would have given birth but haven't been on.

Baby boy is suffering badly with wind/gas. Even with the biggest burp I'll lay him down and he'll be squirming about again. He's also starred crying a lot when he's tired which is most of the day lol I can't put him down.

Oh bbb, have you tried gas drops? Poor baby gas is awful! [emoji17] I hope he starts feeling better for you soon!

Who's baby was born early?

I think I have mastitis :(

I'm cutting out dairy to see if it helps, over the counter stuff hasn't worked for him. I have a drs appt on monday so hopefully she will prescribe something.

BBB, I am so sorry to hear things are rough -- if you have access to it, sunflower lecithin can really help with mastitis and preventing further bouts!

I did until at least a year -- I had a HUGE problem with getting plugged ducts on my right side and ended up with mastitis and never wanted to repeat it again.
