DH having trouble abstaining

I have been DTD with DH every 2-3 days for a while, until AF arrived, and since then I have given him a BJ on those days instead (sorry, TMI?). He is usually one who releases on his own pretty much every day, but I have been trying to keep him from doing that so he doesn't lower his count. Well, he released today, and apparently has a few other times too in the last week.... so, if I am on CD6, and I usually O somewhere around CD13 or CD14, how many days does he need to keep his hands off in order to build back up again? I am so annoyed with him!!

With IVF, they tell us 3-4 days before egg retrieval for best results!

But does it matter how long before that that he has been releasing? I am just worried that he has released many days in a row (he won't admit how many because he knows I told him not to and he doesn't want me to get pissed off at him).

It builds back up so quickly, they don't really go into that much detail. For IUIs, they sometimes do 2 samples within a few hours if the first is low.

It shouldn't really matter if he is FRing before your attempt as sperm do regenerate very quickly, the most important thing is to get him to abstain for at least 2 days prior to TTC 3 would be even better.

I say it is ok if it is 3-4 days before you need it.... just ask him to not do anything (note in shower) for certain days.

But I will say my hubby helped himself in the shower 99% of the time before both my boys. Before DS1 we DTD 1-2x's a day but with DS2 we only had time for 1 a day..... so I think a lot of it is the mom's diet and timing.

I think if he can make it every 2 days, that's good enough.

It is, but rem that they've conceived 2 girls. Each guy is different and some guys can release every day and their sperm just sneer at it but other guys can BD 5 days back to back and they're totally depleted.

Ha, right. I think it is more the case that he is a rebel, with every fiber of his being, and if I tell him NOT to do something, he just does it more. :sigh:. Seriously, he's like a child. I don't think he really does it to spite me, but it's that whole "want what you can't have" thing. Sucks. I don't know what to do about it, because now I am afraid he won't stop. He was a lot better with the last attempt--I think he's just so sick of all the swaying? I don't know. I am pretty upset about it. :( I think he's going to screw it all up!

I think that is a "man thing" and a big part of why I think sometimes it's best to leave them out of the equation all together!!! If I ever started telling my hubs to do anything, it's pretty much a guarantee he will do the exact opposite.

First of all, I LOL at this.....you just got one of those hornballs, girl! But I agree with Atomic, you should just try to not worry about it if you don't think he will abide. Have you said something to him about helping make another boy for your last child, etc. to motivate him? My DH is motivated to be healthy and take his supps and all because I tell him every unhealthy thing he does just takes us one step closer to the sperm bank. He HATES that thought, so he is on it!

Yeaahhh.... I keep telling him, and he seems to be less compliant the more I nag him. He' a rebellious turd sometimes! I finally have started getting up when he does, so I can make sure he doesn't get into trouble. So far he has been good for 2 days...
