Mountain Dew

There was a big thread back on IG about Mountain Dew and general conclusion was it seems it sways pink.
There were quite a few examples of its pink powers lol! esp when DH was drinking it on regular basis. The most remarkable example was a couple with 6 daughters, DH was like addicted to Mountain Dew, drank it on daily basis for years.

The reason I'm writing this is bcos I've noticed one of blue swayers' DH drank Mountain Dew hour before attempt, otherwise the sway was totally blue friendly.
So I doubt 1 M. D. could have ruined an excellent sway, just wanted to bring this up.

I HATE Mountain Dew!!! If there was proof that it would give me a girl, DH and I would both drink it though. haha

its like lemonade, but a melon sort of taste.
i love the stuff, and i have 4 boys so i think its crap.

It's soda, and IMO it is absolutely disgusting tasting. It's bright yellow!! I looked up the nutrition info -- a 20 oz. bottle has 290 calories, 100mg of sodium, 77g carbs, 77g sugar, 91mg of caffeine, and 10mg of potassium.

I know another lady from the Blue Crew, Her DH also drank Mountain Dew an hour before the attempt, She did MSU and got a BOY. :think:

thats what i meant under my "did i saw pink or blue" thread!!! yea someone gets it.. we have a total of 7 daughters although 2 went to heaven. so 5 at home. dh is addicted to mountain dew. its gross and i hate it. i try try limit him but he sneaks them at work..
here's my questions though... i know caffine sways boy so i let him drink them while we were tcc. but someone in ig told me soft drinks sway girl because some of them lower ph... true of false?

I thought it was the diet ones that sway girl because of the aspartame.

I think caffeine in men sways pink - too much caffeine lowers sperm count and anything which lowers sperm count sways pink. Atomic has mentioned before that several of her husband's colleagues chug on energy drinks and they all have girls.

Diet soda is fine for a girl sway at any time - it's very low in everything and the aspartame helps with acidity. Full fat soda is also fine for a girl sway (it's still acidifying and has very little nutritional value) but taken with a meal. If you drink it all day long it will keep your blood sugar levels elevated and DW wants to have low blood sugar levels.

I don't see that this drink would be any different to any other soda (Coke etc) would it?

I think caffeine remains a mystery. For DH, one shot of caffeine before BD should boos the sperm motility. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/ttc-...beverages.html

I agree it's far from proven - I'm not sure I believe that one drink an hour before BDing could do a great deal at all. If only it were that easy!

I believe all soft drinks are practically the same - empty calories, excessive amount of sugar or aspartame which may be even worse, artificial colors, artifical taste, some caffeine,....

i don't know but something happened to all my boy sways. we started swaying boy in 2002, i did it all. diet, suppliments, timing, egg whites. and i still got 7 daughters. maybe there's more to mountain dew then we think

I agree totally Zivic because any time DH seems to drink excessive amounts of caffeine, the couple seems to have way more daughters.

One Mountain Dew before an attempt can't wreck a sway, it's the guys who guzzle it all day long.

At my husband's work, they are all drinking cases of Mountain Dew and also energy drinks and they have SO MANY girls it's amazing. We are the only ones with boys.

I know a lady who had 8 daughters and has just had 2 sons in a row!! WITHOUT swaying!!

I don't believe caffeine DOES sway blue. I think excessive, long term caffeine use/abuse lowers testosterone, lowers sperm count (both proven) and these things sway a heck of a lot harder than anything having to do with "minerals" ever could.

Soft drinks very well may sway pink because carbonation is acidifying and the sugar in them is not healthy or good for blood sugar levels.

it does boost sperm speed temporarily but how that translates to gender ratio (or if it does) remains to be seen.

The caff I'm talking about is the day in, day out, drinking of large amounts of coffee, pop, energy drinks - those things do seem to sway pink by lowering testosterone and sperm count. With everything, there are studies that show one thing and studies that show another.
