Clomid sway ideas?

:ttc:I am 37 and next cycle my OB is putting me on Clomid, which I have heard sways girls, but I am afraid of the Cancer risk. More than likely I will use the Clomid due to my need for a girl after having 4 handsome boys, but I am not sure how to change my sway.

I am not strict on the diets, but low everything and I eat like a bird. Never have breakfast. I have extreme anemia, vit D deficiency, and my thyroid meds are being adjusted (Graves disease/thyroidectomy 2003). My last cycle was just 27 days, Oed on cd 21 per FF, and my LP was just 8 days. Previous cycles was 31 days Oing on CD19 with a LP of 11 days. I am guess my depleted hormone levels have started to mess with my cycles that were perfect 28 days or so with a normal LP? This being said, how do you incorporate Clomid in your sway? I have heard I have to take a few things like jellies, antihistamines, and so forth?

Should I still attempt this month or wait for the Clomid? I hardly have any EWCM anymore. Had tons with my first two boys, then it got less with the last two. My PH has been in the 4-5 range (just got my PH strips & will check it this week), so part of me thinks that jellies and douches are not needed, but I have used RepHresh on cd 5 and cd10 this month and I just got my SYLK in the mail to use DTD. Thought about still TTC this month before I start Clomid next month, but not sure if I should? Any thoughts?

Go ahead and try this month using jellies (at least you won't feel like you're wasting them! :)) and then next month if you don't get pg, then you can drop the jellies and do the Clomid. Also, it's best to skip the antihistamines with Clomid and to try to get in several attempts rather than just one, with optimal pg timing (rather than sway timing) because you need to get pg quickly. 1-3 months on Clomid doesn't raise your risks of cancer but it's still best to minimize it. Without a doubt, DO NOT DOUCHE while on Clomid.

If you're not getting good EWCM even without the Clomid, you may need to do some Robitussin with the Clomid to make sure you have enough to TTC with.

Remember, you can't take vitex or SP with Clomid either but you can take it the month before.

Do I want EWCM for a girl? I don't have much of that at all, more watery. I get lots of creamy though. Do I need Robitussin? Confused? What about SYLK?

What dosage and days are you doing? I am doing just the diet, baby aspirin, dh in doing fr and then when I get positive opk we will start trying. No other jellies, antihistamines, douches or anything. I am doing strict diet though. Good luck! Maybe you'll get your bfp this month!

I am not sure of the dosage for Clomid yet. Will know if AF shows. I am not strict on the diet, just low everything, so I guess I need to use at least SYLK with Clomid?

Well, that's what I mean when I say strict with the diet...low everything! And I do know meats, eggs, beans. I tied sylk and it burned really badly for me. Have you tried it out yet?

Hi there I am new to GD and am also planning a mild girl sway while on Clomid. I am just wondering why you don't recommend douching while using Clomid (atomic). Thanks in advance for any info you can provide....after reading many of the other posts I am truly amazed at the amount of knowledge you have!!!!!

Atomic can answer better than me but clomid makes your cm hostile as it is so you don't want to add anything to make it worse. Also, you don't want to do anything that will make it harder to get preggo like douching or jellies.

so if Clomid makes CM more hostile, does that mean more creamy girl CM or none at all? if it lessens it, how can the swimmers swim?

I have not tried it yet. I plan to, but not for BD, just use a fingertip to check to see if it burns. I wonder why it would burn you?

Clomid can make your CM SO bad as to render you incapable of conception. You need at least SOME CM to conceive.

I prefer that you not use any jellies when on Clomid. The Clomid will make your CM hostile and do the swaying FOR you and doing Sylk too would just add insult to injury.

First of all hi and welcome! Glad you found us.

The reason you should do very little to sway while on Clomid is for a couple of different reasons. First of all, at least 50% (and prob. more) women get very bad EWCM while on Clomid. Like, so bad that sperm cannot swim thru it very easily at all and so you need more sperm than you would in an average conception, just to have enough to survive to fertilize an egg. (this is also at least part of why it sways pink) The second reason is that you can only stay on Clomid for 6 months maximum, and less than 3 months is better. If you take Clomid for longer than 6 months (and even 3-6 months) you will get such a bad uterine lining that it basically renders you infertile. You also have a limited number of months you can take Clomid in your entire life (usually less than 12 months but diff doctors seem to handle this differently) because it increases the risk of both ovarian and uterine cancer. So if you really NEED to take Clomid to conceive, if you plan on future pg, every month you're on Clomid in the here and now is one less month you can take it in the future. You have to get pg quick on Clomid, it's harder to conceive on Clomid than naturally anyway (except for the whole, ovulating thing ;)) and doing anything that stands in the way of conception, such as douching - which mind you I don't even advise for people who AREN'T on Clomid because I think it makes it too hard to get pg - is a huge step in the wrong direction for getting your DG. If you can't get pg you have no shot at your DG!!

It makes less, and also very dry CM that is lower in pH and doesn't "fern" as well. It's not a magic bullet tho, some people's CM stays ok on Clomid and for others, it gets better for a day right at ovulation. There's a CM continuum from very awesome (ie sways blue) to infertile and everything in between so Clomid just makes you take a step or several steps down that continuum for the worse.

My concern for you Daisy is that you're saying your CM is not so hot to start with, so a step down the continuum may be a step too far, hence the Robitussin.

All the things that are low in pH can burn. (note - a lot of the very high pH things like BSF can also burn!)

WOW! Thanks so much atomic for this reply and the link to your clomid thread. So I guess this is my third month on clomid then. I have been on it 2 times before when I conceived my DS and then 2 years later for my DD. It works really well for me as I have always gotten pregnant on my first round of Clomid each attempt, but struggle to get pregnant without it because my cycles are so skewed (28 days to sometimes 56) and I don't always ovulate. I am on a low dose (50) and if I don't get pregnant this month I will use clomid for one more cycle but that is it then, as the cancer stats scare me.

If you have already conceived a girl on Clomid I think that's really encouraging for future results tho. Good luck, I hope this month is a success for you!!
