Need to revise my plan

unfortunately I have been unable to attempt for December because I have had a Crohns flare. I am on a steroid that acts locally in the intestines but it is unsafe to ttc during this time. My doc and I decided January was probably not a good idea either- one big reason for me is I'd be just getting off the steroids right as I was going to O-

So next attempt is February. I have been prescibed Clomid and a Ovidrel injection so I know exactly when I will O. My husband will frequent release every day from AF sometime 2x's and with each attempt it will be the second release of the day. I will use rephresh the day before the injection (O should be 24-36 hrs later).

My questions are mainly about supps since we have been on them straight basically for many months now-
If attempt is in February (if estimating is correct) Ovidrel injection to trigger O will be about Feb 20th.
* Should I give DH a break from supps- he takes licorice root 3x a day, and if yes, when should he start back up?
He also takes cranberry, calcium (666) and Magnesium (250). Any breaks?

I take Vitex, SP, acidopholus 2 a day, Calcium (666), and Mag (250), fiber (when I'm not ill), and a baby aspirin a day (always have as per doc). Should I take a break? I know that I will stop Vitex and SP when I start clomid.
I've been doing LE diet hardcore leaning towards IG if that makes sense- adding some extras things from LE but not having all the calcium etc. Wondering too if I should cut out the cal and mag. Thinking I need to read the Calcium thread again!

I'm not sure I would have DH on licorice root if he's doing such frequent release anyway and you need to get pregnant while on the Clomid! I see you already know about stopping the Vitex and Saw P before you start the Clomid and I would do with the baby aspirin whatever your doctor suggests as they have you on it in the first place!

Thanks Z. I'm gonna keep him on the licorice root. If I get a BFN in February- for march attempt on clomid I will drop. I won't take Zyrtec and I'm going to use rephresh days before instead of on top of O.

Does anyone know if I should give him a break from the supps above or myself? Atomic- would love your in put when you have a chance.

No. Bc I had to skip a month I had him continue. Although recently he hasn't been taking his supps regularly. And since I am now also skipping January I didn't give him a hard time. Guess that's a good thing. What should I do?

I'm sure I saw a study on Licorice Root and that it lowered testosterone in men very quickly. I think I'd just start it up again the month of attempt and make sure to stick to AF-O in future.

I have to dash (will answer more indepth later) but I do think he needs a break from licorice. It can cause high blood pressure.

Atomic- thanks when u come back to this will you also look at what I'm taking. I'm seriously thinking of dropping Cal/mag. Should I take dh off it too. Just as an FYI: doing LE diet, only have 1 yogurt a day and/or glass of skim if eating rice puffs.

I want to keep dh on licorice root and cranberry for him. Just wondering about breaks for him. His pill case has been still filled recently (often) so don't think I harmed him too much!! Ovidrel injection scheduled for Feb 21st as long as cycle stays same. FYI : he is a big guy/ High testosterone /police officer. Kinda why I want to keep licorice root. I do agree he needs a break- the reason I started the thread

H and D, if I had my druthers I would see YOU drop the cal mag (nutrients matter more for DW because she has to be pg and breastfeed baby) and keep giving them to DH (nutrients matter less for DH and also in case there is some benefit to cal mag - at least 2 of the studies that had rats on cal/mag were giving it to BOTH the male and female and it could very well be that cal-mag in guys interferes with sperm in some fashion.) It's kinda the best of both worlds, if there is some benefit to cal-mag at least he's taking it and if there isn't, at least you're not!

Thanks. That answers the cal/mag question. The other part was: the next attempt is going to be Feb 21st. Think DH needs a break from the licorice root. When should I have him start it again? AND does he need a break from Cranberry?

He doesn't need a break from cranberry but he does from the licorice. I would time it so he finishes 2 weeks of licorice right before your attempt.

In other words, break NOW, then resume licorice 2 weeks before attempt.
