Really? Tech said 70% boy because of the angle. Plus there was a penis-looking thing in the potty shot, but she said that's not really accurate yet. I think she was just trying to make me feel better though. Hmmm. Hope you ladies are right but really don't want to get my hopes up...

it doesn't look boy to me... again 13 weeks is really early so im not saying its not a boy. it is a deep fork but im not seeing anything that screams boy. a potty shot would be useless right now, they aren't accurate until 15 weeks and those nubs both look the same in potty shots until then.

Ok I am going against the grain and saying boy..

When do you have another scan?

My next one isn't scheduled until Feb 29th, but I was thinking about getting an elective scan in about a week or two. However, I'm not sure if I want to pay $75 to hear boy. :(

That is a tough one. I was going to say boy at first because it looks like it is at an angle, but it looks like it might be parallel with the bottom part of the spine and it is forked. I will say I am leaning girl.

not saying it is a girl but im not convinced its a boy. baby's spine is bent so its hard to tell if that nub is actually parallel with the spine. also its got a fork, usually girls have a deep fork like that and 3rd, because a 13 week potty shot is unrealiable. it means nothing. if i showed you a girl and a boy potty shot at 13 weeks you probably coudln't tell the difference.

You know, I think the reason why I don't want to get my hopes up about the potty shot not being accurate, is because there are quite a few ladies in my July due date club who have GIRLY potty shots from 12-13 weeks. Like, 3 lines girly. So, to me, that makes me think it should be pretty accurate. I hope I'm wrong.

And I do see how the nub is in line with the bottom part of the spine and is forked. When I mentioned to the tech how it was forked she said "forked???" No idea what I meant. LOL

It very well could be a girl! As the spine is curved it is not that accurate. Don't get your hopes down just yet ;)

Only you know what you saw during your scan but I have to agree with several others that this is NOT a convincing boy nub shot. The spine is curved as many have said. I'm not great at guessing these, I feel like many are ambiguous, but this is certainly not a "definitely" boy OR girl shot IMHO. There's still hope ... I know sometimes that just makes it harder though, but I wouldn't give up on your dream yet :fingers:

Based on the angle i think boy.

I agree with lobella, my first thought was boy because it looks so angled, but when you look at the spine the nub is parallel to the end of the spine, plus it is so forked. So I think you know as much as before the scan!
I think the skull shape might look a bit boyish (hope I´m wrong about that!).

I would have to agree that the boy finding may be wrong because the babies body is facing away a little and the spine is very curved.... wait for your next scan it really isn't that far away. It sucks to wait but then you will have that extra money to buy baby stuff!

Thanks everyone! I just really can't imagine that potty shot being inaccurate at this stage. Plus the tricky nub....I think this is a boy. I want to hold on to hope, but then I don't. I'm so bummed. :(

I said GIRL because of the distinct fork- same reasone most other ladies already said.

Ultrasound tech on IG has guessed boy 70/30. I've lost hope. :(

I'm shocked by all the girl guesses! I finally got a hold of NicoleRH from IG and she said 70/30 boy. :(

I had a crazy weird dream last night that I had a 3D u/s and sure enough, it was a boy.

Plus at 13 weeks 5 days I would have thought that the tech would have been able to see a very boyish nub clearly like here(pics 4&5) theres also a potty shot on the 2nd link for you to think about.

My guess would be 70/30 GIRL! Very curved spine And it would be higher to the girl side but there seems to be alot of detail missing:)

My son at 13 weeks had two bumps sticking straight up on the nub shot. No fork. I do know boys can also have forks and yours is angled. Also, at 13 weeks, I saw a penis and 2 balls. It was obvious. Girls can still have a nub between the legs on a potty shot but it would be smaller and pointy and there really should be nothing that looks like testicles.

I hope your nub is one that turns out to trick the techs.

When I first looked I guessed girl but it really is just a guess - though I hope it's right! Don't forget we have an ultrasound tech here too and I'm pretty sure Foxy is usually online mid-week. She was the only one I really believed when she said no gender clues in my 12 week scan photo lol!

It looks an awful lot like one nub shot I had of my GIRL, who the tech guessed girl with nub, confirmed with about 3 ultrasound potty shots AND I did IVF PGD for a girl so I had the chromosomal testing even before all that! But if you have a feeling, that's always something I think.

That's right, lindi, yours did look like a boy! Can you post your pic for reference?
