oh no! lots of pos ions and I only just OVed yesterday!
I dont really understand the whole ion thing. Is this good or bad for ttc pink???
neg ions are apparently good for TTC pink and positive ions are for blue... although why they think that would affect the egg I don't know
ahhh yeah thanks for that. Confuses me  doesnt take much tho...lol!
Nature provides neg ions.... people who have a lot of plants, running water, forest, and so on are more likely to have girls. I believe it is because all these things are calming and also nature (plants) cleans the air in the home and so you are surrounded by goodness. People who are surround by electronics and very connection with nature are more likely to have boys because there is very little good getting in the body to filter out the bad.
The moon and sun views on gender dateback to cultures that views them as Gods. The moon is female, calming, pure, and all things considered female. The sun is male, warmth, and giver of many things. Solar flares, eclipse of the moon tend to enhance the male factor. No moons, New moons, and eclipse of the sun tend to enhance the female factor. Also it depends on the culture but they have different views on which is good or bad.
clean air + clean body = girl normal house air + ok body = boy
Everything around us affect us inside as well!
wow, thanks for the info, purplepoet20.
I work in the city.. and live in the country.. would that just be a 50/50 effect?
the city is very boyish, but if you sleep with the window open or are surrounded by plants and running water then it may even out. but more like 60/40 favoring boy.
What you do during the day will affect you in the evening (when dtd happens most). If you want a girl then am dtd is best.
I'm afraid I don't buy it. I sit with my laptop on every night, sleep with my mobile turned on by my bed each night, don't have any house plants or go near running water and when I was leading up to my sway I didn't get much fresh air either (because I was busy being a couch potato!!). I use a computer every day at work too.
Purplepoet, you are sort of discouraging me..since I am in Lab full of computers at work and I don't get any fresh air, AC is always on at work and I dont have plants at home, it feels like my diet and the rest is sort of a waste... I have no doubt that negative ions are relaxing and pure. just the only thing that worries me really...
When is it really crucial to include all that in a sway? around OV? I did buy some lavender candles and soap though..can you name a few plants that produce neg. ions (or keep the air clean)?
Thank you, Zana.
I don't think ions have huge overriding power, but I do believe in them, and i think their power is subtle, but can be there...it's not something that would make or break a sway, but I included it in mine just for "in case" factor.
What I don't get is that it's all the 'bad' stuff which sways girl - all the things which lower fertility and send the signal to our bodies that resources are not plentiful etc. but the ion stuff which is said to sway girl all seems to be really healthy which is quite the opposite! I think I'd find it an easier pill to swallow if it were the other way around!
not all bad things sway girl - the vegetarian diet is certainly better for health and better for fertility too
The "theory" (I use the term loosely) is that X and Y sperm have different electrical charges and ions shoot up your vagina and these ions attract X or Y sperm to an egg, which is also supposed to have an electrical charge that attracts the X or Y sperm. The person who came up with this "theory" never published their study and will charge you $$$$ to tell you what the electrical charge of yoru egg is.
Unfortunately for this "theory" X and Y sperm do not have different electrical charges. It's totally untrue and I don't think anyone should give this a second of thought at all whatsoever.
Here's thread about solar flares and swaying. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gend...-once-all.html
except for one little factoid - the gender ratio stays roughly 50-50 boys and girls in the city, in the country, by the seaside, in the mountains, jungle, desert, north pole and equator, 1000 years ago when we didn't even have any electrical equipment to begin with, and so on, and so forth. Varies only by a few % regardless of whatever "ions" are supposedly hanging around plotting their next move.
My friend who has a negative ion mattress that she sleeps on every night conceived both her BOYS on it.
I totally agree. Not "bad" per se, but things that lower fertility. Some things that are good for your long term health in terms of cardiovascular health and and preventing cancer, are not great for boosting fertility.
Also the ion theory is not supported by the data about the times of year when the most boys and girls are conceived.
There are very healthy and fertility friendly meat-eating diets and very healthy and fertility friendly vegetarian diets.
low cal, low protein, low fat, restricted diets (which oftentimes ARE vegan) are NOT good for fertility!
Vegetables have ammonia too.

and fruits

Your body actually needs and uses ammonia to perform certain functions in the body. Like anything, too much ammonia is not good but your body has hundreds of millions of years of utilizing meat as a primary source of food energy. It knows how to handle ammonia as long as you are in good health and not ingesting it like, straight from a bottle.
Atomic, do you then not suggest someone go through the hassle of trying to change around their environment to produce different ions when trying to sway pink or blue? Do you think it's a waste of time, or something that should be considered?
I have two boys, and we have tons of electronics in our house (DH works in IT), windows hardly ever open, a/c or heat always on, no plants (I always kill them, LOL!), and no fountains or running water (other than the sink and the shower!). We also sleep with our cell phones and tablets plugged in near our bed.
Should I change any of these things, or not bother? What do you think?
*bump*
Hoping Atomic will see this and reply :)
I think it's a total waste of time and money but I am not the font of all knowledge and if they are fun to you and you can afford it, I don't think they can hurt anything. However (on IG) some people were spending over $500 on ions and I think that would be money much better spent on your family's needs.
What I don't want people to do is a) think that they are making up for things like diet by "upping the ions" (like people who didn't want to do diet would just increase ions), b) postpone otherwise good sways because of ions, solar flares, moon phases and end up staying on diet for much longer than necessary and/or to manipulate their menstrual cycles to coincide with certain ion-producing events, c) stress so much over ions that they end up raising their testosterone levels, or for blue swayers, getting discouraged and overwhelmed and lowering their T levels (and if you doubt that this happens, I can link you to a dozen posts where it is amply demonstrated.). People did this all the time on IG - they were going off of and onto birth control trying to get their ovulation into the right "moon phase", postponing TTC month after month and staying on diet and supps if their O was one day later than they wanted it to be or an outbreak of solar flares happened, TTC in months that were inconvenient for their families, even limiting the amounts of months they were TTC to 1-2 a year (even women in their late 30's) and it is just not supported by the science.
WOW! :suprise: That really sounds crazy! Of course, I wouldn't do any of those things you mentioned (it would all stress me out WAY too much anyway!) but do you think negative ions hold any weight at all when trying to sway pink? I mean, I wouldn't mind trying to bring some green plants into our home, running a pretty water fountain in our bedroom (sounds really relaxing, too!), and trying to in some way counteract some of the positive ions put out through the a/c, heat, and electronics in our home (any suggestions how to do that?). Would that be overkill? Helpful? Waste of time/effort?
Also, I've heard of salt lamps too...what are they? Do they have to do with ions?
No, I don't think negative ions have anything to do with swaying because X and Y sperm do not have different electrical charges and therefore cannot be attracted or repelled by ions anyway. In fact I am somewhat concerned with ions because negative ions are good for health due to their ability to and many things that are good for health actually sway BLUE, and vice versa with positive ions. But I seriously seriously doubt that a plant or a fountain in your bedroom will do anything at all to harm/help your sway and if you want to get a salt lamp or whatever, that is entirely up to you.
