Hi!
I sent my 13+3 ultrasound to the Nubologosts. I thought for sure I saw stacking and put it in my mind that its a boy...
Well, they sent it back and it says 98% GIRL!!!!!!!! Is this a joke???? I'm sitting here balling my eyes out. Could it be true? Please, ease my mind!

My sister did the ultrasound. I asked her about the "stacking" on end. She confirmed with colors that it was umbilical cord.

OMGGGGGG ������������ REALLY? I was convinced by boy because I thought that line in the middle was stacking so what is that?
looks pink to me! I don't think that's stacking, I think that's cord, see how it's connected to the rest of what is obviously cord?
I guess I was looking for a fork, but don't see it? Threw me off.

Keep in mind that it's not set in stone yet, I have seen nubs still rise in the 13th week but I would be cautiously optimistic. This is NOT a gender confirmation just yet, but is encouraging. :heart: good luck BB!!Quote:

Atomic, when you get a moment can you please take a wee peep at the ultrasound pic that doesn't have the illustrations?
The part that confused me is the two lines under the main line. The one line then the short line above it. That's what I thought stacking was and to me it looks like the long line is angled. Any thoughts?

That is not what stacking looks like. If you think about your own VJ, LOL, you will realize there is quite a bit of "stuff" there and that "stuff" shows up on ultrasounds. You're seeing the girly parts. For some reason in our heads we expect girls to have nothing there, even tho we ourselves do NOT have nothing there! So there will be the "stuff" present but it doesn't look like the boy "stuff". :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:Quote:

I think it's easy to get carried away on Google searching lol! Seems there are alot of people who aren't sure how to properly read theory, including me lol! I know the basics, but that's about it. Hard to believe it could be a girl but I am ECSTATIC of even having the guesses!

They were correct for me. Yours definitely looks girly both in nub and bladder theory. Hope it stays like this. Will you go for a private early scan? So handy that your sister is a sonographer

I wanted to wait until the baby is born, but the suspense is killing me. I also need to prepare as I have 2 boys and no girls! So I need everything!
Yes! It is. Although she doesn't believe the nub theory. When she did the potty shot she said oh there's a bulge! So she was thinking boy, but then said girl, then said she wasn't sure and it's 50/50! Lol
But she said she never does potty shots at that age so she really isnt sure what she was looking at lol. Also said usually if it's a boy it is very apparent. She scoffs at the nub theory lol. So I'm happy to have access to awesome groups like this that can give some reliable info and insight!
Bobster, what is the bladder theory?
Potty shots are not reliable at that stage. Again, remember, girls have "stuff" too, and when you're a baby with no body fat, that "stuff" sticks right on out there. People think of baby girls like they're Barbie dolls and are perfectly smooth but they aren't at all!
I really recommend finding out if you have a gender preference - it's too tough to be dealing with emotional stuff when you ahve to care for this tiny human being who needs you.
Did you mean potty shot? Yes, that's what I thought. She laughed at me. Said they aren't concerned about gender obviously. I initially went in for her to check the nuchal fold, as the lady I had said I was 1 day past minimum and didn't drink enough water. She also had a crappy machine. So my sister double checked. That was my first priority.
I asked my sister not to look actually lol. Clearly she ignored me!
Thanks Atomic. I will be finding out! I very much want a baby girl, but even before we got pregnant I made peace in knowing that I would be happy with either gender and what God gives me is what I'm meant to have!
Especially with the chemical pregnancy and waiting to get pregnant. Blessed either way and thankful!!

I’m not sure on the accuracy of the bladder theory but when I’ve looked at the bladder location on my own and others’ scans it seems there’s something to it, although sometimes the angle can distort the appearance so it really does need to be a side shot.
In girls the bladder seems to sit snugly straight behind the nub, whereas in boys it seems to sit further down, so if you drew a line over the top of the bladder to the end of the nub it would run at an angle. Similar to nub theory I guess but using the location of the bladder as a guide too.
Could be complete rubbish I don’t know!!!

I had a really hard time believing it too - not so much that it was a girl but that I just couldn't believe it was all going to work out happily, I was sure something terrible would happen!! (I still think that sometimes and she's 7 years old now!) The GD still can mess with our heads even after we get our desired gender! Hugest congrats - I'm over the moon for you!

Atomic it’s strange you say this as I have felt weird since I found out I’m getting a dd. Almost like it’s happening to someone else and not really me. I’m scared that I won’t love her as much as I love my boys and she’ll change the dynamic of my family. Then I feel guilty for feeling like that and just wish I could feel happy. I guess it’s because we only wanted 2 children but hubby agreed upon a third because of my GD so it’s my ‘fault’ if you like if it all goes wrong.Quote:

Those are all very normal feelings. A lot of us have also had feelings of guilt after the baby was born (I still struggle with this) if it was inconvenient or financially taxing to have more kids - like if only we could have given up this dream we could have given more to our boys, and also resentment where we think "if only this would have happened sooner" IKYKWIM. Not that we would trade our boys but just this overall feeling that life is just harder because we didn't get our desired gender in a timely manner.Quote:
