Bd today - boy sway - urgent advice please!

Please can you help!
Im ttc boy cycle day 19 today.
I got what i thought was peak yesterday 1.34pm and BD in the evening with preseed +BS. I checked OPK this morning and its a higher reading.
Hubby abstained for 6 days before BD yesterday night 10pm
What other BDs should i do to sway whilst i still have time. I really want to try this month.
Please see premom opk chart. I have ovulation pains again today.
A group on fb told me im too late to sway this month and im worried ive ruined my chances!!

I can't see your app photo, it's too small and I can't get it to blow up.

If you already had attempts I strongly urge you to have more attempts IMMEDIATELY.

People online are trying to give you old outdated Shettles advice. If you don't start having more attempts you will end up with the dreaded ONE attempt, which has been terrible results for boys. I hope you're able to have at least one more attempt.

Premom showed a solid peak at 1.34pm today and my 8pm opk was solid too, there was barely any difference. We have bd again today as peak is today. Then we will bd tomorrow and try the day after aswell! Does that sound ok?

Those numbers on Premom don't mean anything. They are a marketing strategy for selling apps and impart no useful information whatsoever.

I strongly suggest you delete it from your phone because they do not work and create much confusion, causing people to miss entire months or to end up with opposites due to having attempts too late, and not getting in with three attempts when they could.

Peak means (up until the invention of these ridiculous apps) the POSITIVE opk. It's how the term was always used, as PEAK FERTILITY, not "peak darkness on an OPK". Peak fertility begins at the first positive OPK, not the darkest. Your darkest OPK can come after ovulation sometimes!!! You cannot use darkness of OPK to measure anything. So you needed to have your attempts starting the first positive OPk and if it's BFN this month I urge you to try starting with your first positive and not wait for some app that is inventing incorrect terminology to tell you it's "peak" when they are using the term incorrectly based on the way the term is used by OPK companies themselves and by natural family planning experts.

So yes absolutely please keep going with those attempts! GREAT you had one yesterday, today, and tomorrow. If you can't hit that final day that's likely too late anyway but def. try to sneak one in if you can.

Does it matter when these attempts are? Do i need to have 24hrs between each bd? Because could do today aft and tomorrow morning if it can be any time.

Also does it matter if I O and should I use bs/preseed? I used preseed and bs so far for one bd.

No, you do not need to have 24 hours between attempts. Once the fertile window is open (O-2 thru O Day) you should have as much sex as possible because all those sperm have a chance to survive to make it to the egg. The "24 hour" thing makes no sense with the 3 attempts because you basically guarantee that you won't have three attempts (when using OPK to figure your fertile window anyway). Attempt NOW!

(ps - we must be on polar opposite time schedules as your messages come thru in the middle of the night for me)

It doesn't matter if you O. That's really been very much debunked. Great if you can, fine if it doesn't happen.

I don't recommend baking soda. Preseed is fine. Baking soda has such high pH it kills sperm, which only survive in pH of 7-8. The old school sway tactics have been by and large debunked. So far we have done
O-2 - used bs and preseed
O-1 - no lube used
And o - today with preseed and bs again
We only used a slight pinch of bs not too much
I plan to bd again in the morning too and hopefully that will be enough.

I have seen lots of people use bs so thought its worth a try!

Hi. I’veen reading a lot from this forum and im a little confused. When you say o-2 it means 2 days before first OPK or after?

O-2 means 2 days before ovulation. Positive OPK comes about 1-2 days before ovulation. Some people have regular cycles and so count the days based on what their cycles normally are insteaad of using OPK, so both terms are used as they mean slightly different things.

Thanks! Well for me i see this swaying thing a bit difficult since i have a very irregular cycle. Last month i ovulated cd20 and this one pretty sure it was cd15. We dtd O-3 and O-1 and the day after. If i get pregnant this may sway more for girl right?

That's why we use the OPK methods (so for a boy you'd have sex the night of positive OPK, again the next morning (O Day) and then again that following night (so twice on O Day) because many many people have irregular cycles.

If you had sex on O-3, O-1, and O Day that would be good for blue! Why do you think it sways pinK?

Sorry i meant the day after ovulation. So it was on o-3 and o-1, and o+1. I thought this would sway pink because that would be just One attempt in the fertile window right?.. Also, when you say positive OPK is it the first positive?. There was a month i got 4 positives, getting darker each time. So confusing

O-3 still counts as an attempt. O-1 is a good attempt. And number of attempts is just one thing, so even if you did just get one viable attempt in, you're still able to get a boy.

OPK are very imprecise. The norm is to ovulate an average 24-36 hours after the first positive OPK, tho you can ovulate anywhere from 8-48 hours after (and even as many as 72 hours) after your FIRST positive. Not the darkest!! That is a common error. And if you have a lot of hormone, it can take your body a long time to get rid of it and you can keep getting positives even after O. But at the same time it's also possible that your body surges (and it is detected by the OPK) and then decides just not to release the egg for a while. So then you surge again, or keep surging for a few days, and only ovulates after several positive OPK. We just can't know when ovulation happened based on OPK, they're just something that gets us into the ballpark (which is why when you read about timing on the Internet, they are all so full of beans...no one can use OPK to pinpoint ovulation with the precision they claim. And even temping is unreliable, getting the day of ovulation right only one out of three days. So it may not even be the case that you know what days your attempts were on in relation to O.

Also, I just want to be sure yo know waht a positive OPK is? It's not just any line but only when the test line is as dark or darker than control.

Yes! Last month like i said i had 4 ‘positives’. This month it was just one possitive and the next day it was negative. So i assumed i ovulated that day. I had PcOs a couple of years ago and for my first child (my beautiful 2yo girl) i took Metformin (wasnt really neccesary according to dr but we did it because i had a chemical preganancy that month) . This time i went to my obgyn and said everything was fine and i shouldnt worry about my irregular cycles. Im supposed to get my period in a few days. We’ll see.

I would have you add in a prenatal vitamin with 100% (avoid megadoses and added herbs, you do not need them and they may hurt your sway) of most nutrients but up to 250% Vitamin D, probiotics, and fish oil or DHA supps 250 mg daily (do not take high doses of this).

Okaay i have some questions here
What brand do you reccomend for Prenatal vitamin?
Fish oil or DHA is Omega 3 right?
And also DH should also take this supplements?

I usually recommend Centrum or One a Day women's formula. But it doesn't have to be those ones, just make sure you're avoiding megadoses and anything wth added herbs in it.

Yes Omega 3! That's right. DH can take too just not any more than 500 mg max for him.

Got a positive pregnancy test yesterday. Did a blood test for Hcg and Progesterone and came out excelent!! With my first pregnancy both were slightly low so had to take progrstone pills and they made me super sick! Ill keep you guys updated. We dtd night before and the day of O. Took Centrum and Folic Acid for a month. Lot of red meat and full fat milk.
