What are acceptable forms of cardio for girl swayers? I was planning on going on the treadmill for an hour at a walk/ fast walk for an hour everyday. I have been LE vegan for almost 3 months now and plan on trying in 4-6 weeks. I am still breastfeeding my son so I have ate low nutrient/ lower fat + protein, but not super low calorie because of it.

I am also swaying pink and planning our attempt for 6 weeks from today!! How exciting!! I have been doing LE since February and lost 40lbs. I just switched to LE PCOS but have avoided sugar all year. Just cut out meat and refined carbs added more veggies and dropped whole milk for almond milk. Anyways, I added cardio 6 weeks ago and also walk 6-7 days a week for an hour burning 300 cal. I normally would never do this much cardio, but it’s my nightly routine now. Do you have any good vegan recipe suggestions? Sending pink dust!!
So exciting!! I hope we get our girls [emoji1374] what kind of exercises are are you doing? I would love todo a little of something but don’t want it to work against me. I was exercising when I conceived my son but it was a mixture of cardio/ lifting and core.
Truthfully I don’t… I have just been eating “unhealthy”/ low nutrient so I cycle the same things. For lunch I usually have a plain bagel with cucumbers and some fruit or a veggie sub. Dinners I either do some kind of rice or pasta with low nutrient veggies. I make veggies southwest bowl some days (very little black bean, peppers, corn, rice and cilantro with a pinch of lime). Some nights I just do random veggies in the air fryer. I try to keep it simple, it sucks but it helps me stay on track. I sneak a little chicken or dairy occasionally but it’s very little. I have completely cut out red meat, I ate a lot or pork with my son so I know this is a big effort. Hardest has been cutting onions/ garlic completely so I don’t raise my testosterone, before my own my OBGYN said I had a mild case of PCOS where my levels were slightly elevated, but luckily I don’t have any insulin resistance. My cycles are long which sucks, but I am ovulating around day 33-35 consistently it seems. Hoping to conceive quickly, praying for a sticky baby for both of us [emoji1694]
Is your hubby doing the diet as well? My hubby has been eating almost everything I eat so I’m hoping that is working in our favor too. And have you decided frequent release of abstaining?

Anything YOU like and will stick with is fine. Treadmill is fine, walking is GREAT (I actually prefer you guys do walking, because it's less likely to cause injury than the more challenging exercises are, and it seems to work just as well)
I do want to mention, though, that with diet + breastfeeding + exercise it may disrupt your cycle. Can you give me more info about what you mean by "low nutrient, lower fat and protein" because I want to make sure you're getting enough to continue ovulating when you start exercising. Specifics for fat, protein, and calories are most helpful!
I don't want anyone tracking the cals they burn, just do the exercise and leave it at that. Calories burned, heart rate, that sort of thing, don't matter and are not necessary to track, so just leave that out totally and don't even calculate it. Just do the 60 min. of exercise.Quote:

Just eating veggies is not enough food for a woman who is breastfeeding. I really need the protein, fat, and cal intake to be sure you're getting enough!

My delayed ovulation is normal, in fact it was far worse before getting pregnant with my son. I used togo multiple months without a cycle or ovulation, I was going 7 months before conceiving my son. I truthfully haven’t been tracking my exact protein/ fats as i tend to get very stressed about it and I’m worried it’ll work against me[emoji20] I ate very healthy with my son, almost all whole grain, superfoods, high protein, very “clean”, so I have been doing almost the complete opposite hoping it tricks my body into thinking times are “tough”. I may be misunderstanding though so I’m all for the tips and advice! I am truthfully desperate for a girl as this is our last baby [emoji175]

After reading through the posts I am definitely leaning towards purchasing the plan for the LE PCOS diet, how do I do that and do you think it would benefit me if I only did it for 4-6 weeks at this point? Also I use coffeemate creamer in my morning coffee, is that still okay if I do the LE PCOS diet? I am realizing I definitely need to start counting my nutrients and I think the plan will help [emoji1374]

I rarely tell people to track things, but I DO tell you guys to track your protein, fat, and diet. That's because the benefits of the tracking vastly, vastly outweigh the downsides. (or think of it this way, when someone who doesn't want you to track anything, tells you to track something, it is because it is IMPORTANT!) What happens is that without realizing it, people cut back too far, and then delay or even stop ovulation. This just sets you up for failure because then you have to basically start swaying blue via diet just to conceive. This is especially true when you're breastfeeding. So I strongly urge you to track, it doens't need to be very involved, but just to be sure you're getting enough food.
The problem with "doing the opposite" is, you may not even be "doing the opposite" on any reason you had a boy to start with!! So you can easily be moving in the wrong direction, thinking you're making yourself more girl friendly when really you were already, say, 50-50, or even 60-40, or even 75-25, that sort of thing, and just hit XY vs. XX the last time. Swaying is not 100% or the whole human race would have died out a long time ago, so it is entirely possible to have been overall more pink friendly than you assume you were, and just gotten a boy anyway. It is also very possible that other things you were doing, even dietwise, were boy friendly.
If you do have an irregular cycle from PCO-tendencies, eating a high carb, refined white flour+sugar diet will be devastating to your sway. You will raise your blood sugar through the roof, your testosterone will skyrocket, and it's very likely your cycle will get super disrupted. There is a LOT of wiggle room between a high protein, superfoods based diet, and eating too many carbs (which will aggravate your PCO-tendencies horribly and sway blue to boot!)

Is the coffeemate the kind with sugar or without?
Yes absolutely making the change now is still time enough to help with your sway (and you never know, you may not even get pregnant the first month out.)

DH did eat less red meat because I stopped cooking it lol! That’s about it! I just added in soymilk and was gonna grab some OLE for him then we got our BFP lol!! Was planning on doing FR. Didn’t get the chance, but I don’t think it matters too much and trying not to stress it. I did well with diet, lost 40lbs, dropped down to BMI 21 from 28 and added exercise in about 4 weeks before I conceived. Wishing I had started exercising earlier, but trying not to stress that as well. I think moderate exercise sways boy and over exercise sway girl. Sending you pink dust!! 💖

I’m steadily losing weight though I don’t always feel it lol, I blame my son for this body recomp lol. Thank you so much!! We get the NIPT done the first week of October!! So excited to update with the results!! Finding the time to work out is hard! I usually had to wait until after the boys went to sleep to be able to get my full hour in. I was just about to start pushing myself up to 90min, but got out BFP!!
It's not necessary to do 90 and it's more likely that a) you will get injured and be unable to do any exercise and b) you'll delay or even stop ovulation if you do too much.Quote:

It's enough! Walking 60 minutes without eating beforehand has gotten great results for us! The exercise does not have to be Olympian levels, it's about the effect that moving your body, even just walking, has on your blood sugar and also for overall weight loss.

Foods in and of themselves don't sway. It's overall nutrient content of your diet overall, and having more vegetable fats than animal fats can be pink friendly. We actually had to tell blue swayers to cut back on milk replacers like oat and almond because they were getting a lot of pink opposites among the people who drank a lot of them (probably because they were ingesting so much vegetable oil that way). almonds are one of those foods that can have a place in both pink and blue sways - you'd just use them in moderation on pink diets. Same with the occasional intake of an oatmilk espresso - that is just fine for pink.
I'd use up that creamer and then try to find one that's sugar free after that if at all possible.
I can't say if instant coffee is as good - I haven't got any data on that. If that's what works best for you I'd just continue doing that.
Generally I recommend husbands just stay the same weight if possible. When men lose weight they typically lose fat before muscle (for women, it's the opposite, alas) and that can, in some guys, raise testosterone and improve sperm count. But honestly, that's just supposition and I'd not worry about it too much. We also think that if a man loses a fair amount, like 10+ lbs for an already slim guy, that too may lower testosterone too, but it's much less anecdotally true for us than the "chubby hubby = girls" observation.

I have been using a table spoon with the coffee, I was assuming since I go straight to exercise I was okay. I’ll have hubby drink most and I’ll use a splash in it before switching to a sugar free.
That was my understanding as well on the males, he is completely sedentary (no exercise) due to a meniscus injury so I assume that works in our favor. In that case, should I have him eat more? He is an icecream lover so I can always increase some intake through that lol.
One other question, as I continue the diet and in the event it takes us several months to conceive, should I be aiming for a certain BMI? I have been steadily losing weight and my clothes are starting to get looser, I tend to lose slowly with my height being 4’11, but the small weight is a big difference on my body. I have lost almost all muscle mass and seem to be lowest I’ve been in years (minus my lower belly my pregnancy seems to have destroyed lol). I am weighing in the 114-115 range, my BMI calculating at 23, though i suspect it may be a little off since i am very large chested (F/G cup), not sure if that skews it at all. Curious on your input, thank you again [emoji4]

It is probably ok at that intake. It's really up to you - personally, I had sugar in my coffee as a cheat that I wanted to have, and it was ok. But technically, the rules of the diet are not to.
It's not that I think you should make him eat MORE, but there's no advantage to having him on a diet and losing weight, either. That aspect seems to only matter from the wife's side of the equation.
You don't need to lose to a set amount of weight or to a specific BMI. ANY weight loss will only help. The cutoff where I like you guys to hold steady and not lose any more is 21, and then sometimes people still see a little weight sneak off over time without any ill effects. The absolute "do not lose any more weight than this" is 18.5. The less you weigh, are talking very small amounts of weight to shift you into a different BMI, so be careful not to lose too much. Once you hit 21, stop losing and try to hold steady, or even before that if you are happy where you are.
Thanks Atomic! I must have misunderstood in thinking that males doing the diet helps. I have advised him to hold steady and he is taking on drinking a little soy milk everyday.
Also in regards to our attempt/ BD - I am on CD14, I suspect I am still 2.5 weeks away from ovulation since I have been having long cycles between breastfeeding and my PCOS. Past 3-4 cycles I have been ovulating between day 36-39 consistently though. I believe I read before that either FR or abstaining provides best results, my husband is 34 but relatively healthy, is that the case or what would you recommend? I want to give ourselves the best opportunity to conceive a girl, but also don’t want to decrease my chances of conceptions to low.
With my son we BD 2 times day I got my positive OPK and one the next day (we were also using preseed and I was taking mucinex). I usually take a Zyrtec everyday for my allergies but I have stopped as I don’t want to make conception almost impossible. Thank you again!

Making some dietary changes like cutting back on red meat and eggs, or going vegetarian or even vegan, and having more soy may help. But they don't need to do the same diet as you do, since they're not the ones who have to be pregnant and thus they don't have the same needs to nourish baby boys vs. girls as you guys do.
Neither abstain nor FR has been very effective. About the same number of people get boys and girls with and without them, provided the one attempt is stuck with (people should never add attempts while keeping abstain and FR). I would use whichever option feels more doable to you. 34 year olds can absolutely still do abstain. Both of them do lower odds of conception somewhat, so it should be among the first things dropped if you don't conceive quickly.
That's the exact pattern I recommend for a boy! So don't do that next time!
You can get pregnant when using Zyrtec, if you're really struggling with allergies. It does cut odds some, esp. if coupled with abstain/FR and maybe a cutoff, but it's hard to have sex if you're sneezing constantly, LOL. Just play it by ear on that.
It’s crazy, I never realized how much I swayed boy with my son! I didn’t know what swaying was back then as he was my first. My goal was just to get pregnant as quick as possible lol, but almost all of the things we did were all boy sway. I’m so grateful to have found your page as I probably wouldn’t have changed diet without this knowledge and only would have done timing which has obviously been debunked- likely would’ve failed and had another boy. Knowledge is power!
I think we will only do one attempt at pos OPK, though I am concerned a little about low chances i of conception. I have long cycles and since I’m still breastfeeding I am unable to get clomid… What is the best frequency that sways girl but also gives good chances of conception?
Also for the LE PCOS are potatoes tolerated well? I know all is allowed in small amounts but I don’t want to include them if they will aggravate my PCOS. Thanks again Atomic!

Yep that's what a lot of us come to realize - women with all/mostly boys often are obsessed with doing things the "right" way, so when it comes time to get pregnant, we set our sights on doing everything in our power to conceive and all those things tend to sway blue. I often think about times in my life I wasn't planning a pregnancy, and wonder what would have happened if I had gotten pregnant in those times instead of when I did! Might have been girls, who knows!
What I have people do in your situation is to do what we call the "every four days" method. That's just having sex in regular intervals, just far enough apart so you always have a chance to conceive, but far enough apart so really you're still having one attempt. You can do this either by counting the days every 72 hours apart or "Monday/Thursday" whatever is easier for you to understand - it does not need to be that number of hours, or those days per se, but that's just how you count the days to have sex. OR you can do this 96 hours apart or "Monday/Friday" - this is lower odds of conception but may be better chances of pink (altho the 72 hour pattern has gotten good results for pink too!) you start this BD pattern after your period ends and carry on till when you're certain you've ovulated, even if that means going all the way thru till your next period begins. You're always in with one viable attempt, no matter when the egg shows up.
Yes potatoes are allowed on the PCOS-type LE Diet. You count calories only, not protein or fat in them (they're free for protein and fat tho of course anything you add to them will need to be counted, like butter or cheese). No limits on them other than on the calorie count. As long as you're staying in limits otherwise, they're absolutely fine.

Yes I'd have an attempt straight away. Have your attempt at the first positive of any brand. Because the digital is positive, have your attempt now. No need to release beforehand.

My thinking is, you can get pregnant with an attempt that's technically "too soon" but not one that's too late. So I have people "GO" at the first positive of any brand, since sometimes they won't get another positive on any brand, or it may come too late. If you are an old hand at OPK and know that the easy at homes correlate well for you, feel free to use that instead. :)
Hi atomic! I ended up going with my gut and waiting and I’m happy I did. So i got the test at the bottom this morning…. it was a positive, but still odd that it’s not a surge like I usually have. When I surge my test line is normally twice as dark. Could this be changing from the diet/ exercise? We BD an hour ago, I’m praying this is a high enough surge to trigger ovulation [emoji30]Quote:
