2-3 cups of coffee with whole milk in the morning to tide me over until noon. Sometimes cheated when we would go out for breakfast with family. Eliminated snacking which was really difficult for me. Usually 2-3 light meals a day in an 8 hour window. Fasted for 16-18 hours. Didn’t count calories, protein, or fat intake. Didn’t want to obsess and sway blue. Purposely avoided thinking about limits by listening to my body. As time went on it got a lot easier, I felt fuller after eating smaller portions and was able to wait for longer periods of times between eating. I always waited until I was hungry to eat anything. I usually ate white rice, toast with peanut butter, bagels with low fat cream cheese, strawberries, cucumbers, yogurt, chicken, pasta, veggies.

I started walking on the treadmill in May. Skipped all month of June as DH and I had birthdays. Cheated on diet a lot during month of June. July started hardcore on diet and exercise. Walked on the treadmill for an hour 6-7 days a week burning around 300 calories each walk.

I was tracking ovulation for 9 months prior to attempt. I would usually O around CD 13-16. My periods became lighter and shorter on diet. I normally have a lot of EWCM, but it was scant and creamy leading up to attempt. We actually weren’t trying the cycle we ended up conceiving. We used pull out 48 hours after pos opk. I believe being on diet so long and then adding exercise was delaying O, but never confirmed with temp. I got O pains night of pos opk so I assumed egg was gone by attempt but did pull out just in case. Two weeks later got my BFP!!

Things that make me feel great about my sway:
I was strict with diet and exercise. Lost 40lbs in 6 months and was at a lower weight than when we conceived our sons.

Things that make me nervous about my sway:
I cheated a lot on diet during the month of June and right before O that lead to BFP because the in laws came to visit. We did doggy style instead of missionary. I added in soy milk for DH during the 2ww when I ended up pregnant. I really wanted to give DH soy milk and OLE for our attempt. I feel like DH is programmed for blue. I also wanted to use an antihistamine like Zyrtec or Benadryl. I wanted to have 12 solid weeks of exercise before attempt, but only got in about 4 weeks before conceiving.

Things worth mentioning:
I tried to do a lot of visualization during the months before our attempt. I imagined our daughter being born and running around playing with her brothers. I prayed to God to bless our family with a baby girl or to take away my longing for her. I knew that we could still get blue even with a perfect sway. I accepted that I wanted to add to our family, regardless of the gender. I tried to have fun and let go.

Update: Did the sneak peek snap at 6 weeks and got our results today: Baby Girl!! Cautiously optimistic since we all know sneak peek can be unreliable, but holding onto this like a tiny victory!! Will update back in a little over 3 weeks with NIPT results to confirm!! :awe:

Just wanted to let everyone know this attempt ended in a miscarriage at 8 weeks. Currently in the tww after trying to catch the first egg. Will update back if we get a BFP!

Thank you so much everyone!! I believe I’m 6 dpo now and we DTD a lot during fertile window which I know is very boy friendly. I’m hoping diet and having the flu week of O will offset the blue style BD, but only time will tell. The days before O I couldn’t keep anything down and lost 6 lbs in 3 days so definitely in decline mode for O!! Praying for a healthy sticky bean!!

but remember, I saw where those attempts were and you did NOT BD that much in the fertile window! Most of them were too early! FXFXFX!!

Well we got our BFP yesterday!! 13-14 dpo I believe but hard to say really for sure when I ovulated. A little nervous that we were actually successful at catching the first egg after the miscarriage, had a lot of ewcm, and still feeling like BD was boy pattern since I was so set on getting pregnant quickly, but it is what it is and just a waiting game now. Still praying for pink but will be happy with a sticky bean. Will update back after nipt next month.

I was a lot more relaxed on the diet after the mc. When I first fell pregnant before the mc it was hard for me to adjust to eating breakfast again but after two weeks I was regularly eating three meals with snacks again. After the mc I cut out breakfast and drank lots of coffee, other than that I continued to eat whatever I wanted.

I stopped bleeding on CD7 and we started BD that night. I got pos opk on CD12 and some ewcm. More ewcm and O pains on CD14. I think I actually ovulated on CD15. Got the flu on CD10 and went down hard for a few days with a high temperature around 101F. I took Tylenol and ibuprofen and off brand NyQuil that didn’t have Tylenol in it (DH got the cheap one) but it did have dextromethorphan 30mg and doxylamine (antihistamine) 12.5mg. I usually never take cold medicine unless I’m so sick I can’t move. I only took the cold medicine on CD12 and CD13 and drank vodka cranberries on CD14 and CD15. DH also had the flu and took some cold medicine. We were successful at catching the first egg and got our BFP 14dpo. I had some very faint lines on cheap tests around 8dpo, but only a solid line on a frer with fmu 14dpo.

We caught the first egg after mc at 8 weeks. We were both extremely sick with the flu week of O. I didn’t eat for 3 days straight because I couldn’t keep anything down. Lost 6 lbs week of O. Took an antihistamine day before O and drank vodka cranberries on O day.

Things that make me nervous about my sway:
I was off diet for a month while I was pregnant and I was taking prenatal pills that month as well. I was so over the LE diet after being on it for 6 months this year and losing 40lbs. I didn’t have anything left in me for the diet so I wasn’t strict with the diet after the mc, but I did skip breakfast. We BD 2-3 times in fertile window. DH missed a day during FR. Noticeable ewcm after not having any for months while on LE diet. I feel like we are programmed for blue.

Things worth mentioning:
I feel like I did all that I could do with my sway. It’s all in God’s hands now and we just have to wait and see what happens. Our hearts were broken after the mc and wanted to get pregnant quickly so we BD frequently to make sure we got the egg, which I believe will sway blue. I was on Zoloft for 6 months for PPA while I was doing the diet and had always planned to wean off at BFP. I was fully weaned off when mc started. I took Ativan once a day for 9 days from CD 1-9 for this ttc cycle after the mc then got the flu and took the cold and flu medicine week of O.

Alright y’all we got our NIPT results back and DS3 is on the way!! For anyone reading through sways trying to find a rhyme or reason to swaying definitely don’t let this “sway opposite” discourage you. I have a hard time calling DS3 a sway opposite because if you read my second sway we really inadvertently swayed blue because I was very emotional after the miscarriage and wanted to fall pregnant again immediately. I was so determined to catch the first egg after the mc that we ended up swaying blue by BD 2-3 times in fertile window and BD on O day. There were definitely many, many freshly deposited swimmers there when the egg popped. I was solely relying on the mc to sway at that point and threw all other sway tactics to the wind. I had also been off the LE diet for four weeks and taking a prenatal multivitamin while pregnant. I truly believe our first sway actually worked and the embryo was xx we just had bad luck and the pregnancy ended in a mc. Hope this helps anyone out there who is reading through all the sways here as I did before I began my sway journey. Overall feeling very blessed for a healthy baby!! DH is over the moon excited for DS3 and I truly believe DS3 will be the perfect addition for our growing family. Still praying for pink one day!! I came across this thread and was interested because I just had an early loss and am wondering when I’ll ovulate again and if it’s possible to catch the first egg. My cycles are nuts, so who knows. We are swaying girl for a fourth baby.

It looks you ovulated quite early after your loss? Was the hcg out of your system, so you know?

BUT I also wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS!! I lightly swayed girl for my third son, I was pretty disappointed to find out he was a he, but those feelings faded by the time he was born. Now of course I can’t imagine it any other way!! He is 2. He is just so perfect, he has been our easiest baby by far, his older brothers ADORE him, and it has been so fun to watch in awe at the things he is capable of by learning from his brothers (some great things, some not so great things haha). He was totally meant to be in this family. He makes us smile constantly, and my oldest son (who has always been a high needs kinda guy and struggles with empathy) taps in to this incredibly nurturing part of himself when with his littlest brother. The sibling relationship is just so, so special. My husband is still EXTREMELY close with his brother, so I hope that for my boys. Don’t get me wrong…our house is pretty much chaos much of the time, but it is so wonderful having three boys. <3

Loved reading this!! I agree the sibling bond is so, so special!! We are very excited for DS3, still praying for pink one day!! Looking back I believe I ovulated on CD 13 which was my normal O day for my very clockwork cycles. Usually a 28 day cycle with O on CD 13-14, but after being on LE diet for a few months cycle went down to 24-26 days with O around CD 12-13. Hoping you get your pink party!! I was off the diet for a month, eating lots of red meats, my normal high calorie diet with lots of snacking, prenatal, and we BD 2-3 times in fertile window which I believe swayed blue for us!! Did a ton of research about when O would come after mc and found so much variation I just guessed when O might be based on symptoms. I thought O might be delayed and stopped BD on CD 14 in anticipation for late O, but I had peak opk on CD 12 and believe O day was CD 13. Had only gotten a negative hcg test a couple days before O.

It is absolutely possible to catch the first egg. Prayingforpink20 is absolutely correct in that there is no way to predict when a person's cycle will resume after a loss. A lot goes into it - what gestation you were, how the loss progressed (some people drop in HCG very quick, others have it hanging on a long time) your overall condition and calorie intake, etc.

What we have people do is either do the e4d method (unprotected sex about every 4 days while waiting for the egg to show up) or to use OPK so you detect the surge and then have one attempt at that time. Both ways can work and we have had a decent rate of conception (and pink) catching the first egg.
