Failed/delayed O, now what?

So this whole cycle has been wacky.

Not sure what to do now. Temps have been goofy. O is late. Have had 2 false + OPKs - I think I have a bad batch of CB Digital strips - I don't think they were LH surges with failed O's as both times the strips looked goofy.

We started with abstinence and broke it after the first + OPK so we dtd early on cd 9. Due to the confusion and O clearly not coming, we ended up switching to double release and dtd on days 10,11,12 and 13 as well. I almost always O on CD12, sometimes CD13. It is now CD 16 and have not O'd. I have this continued mild O like ache in my right side for several days - maybe I have a cyst or something but no thermal shift.

My feeling is that it is not worth any more attempts this month. DH has not released for 3 days and stopped the LR and cranberry then too as he was starting to get headaches and had been on it several days longer than usual due to late O.

The only supplement I am taking is Vitex. Not sure what to do next month to prevent this from happening again. I really hate to increase calories although I need to do better about getting them in general. I don't want to gain weight but I can't lose anymore either. Lost about 19 pounds (from 132 to 113. BMI 21.6 to 18.5) Hoping it will sort itself out...

Should I stop the Vitex now and restart it with the next O?
Should I try to gain weight? (cringe)
Should I just let it ride and see what happens next month?
Oh and what would you do about bd next month?

keep temping, you might OV this month afterall

is this your first month on vitex? vitex can really mess up already regular cycles

if you don't OV this month, I wouldn't gain weight but I'd try and maintain. Your BMI is borderline low enough to stop OVing and you can stop OVing if you lose more than 10% of bodyweight too. 19lbs seems like quite a lot so I'm guessing you've lost more than 10%?

I will keep temping but don't think we will make anymore attempts... My starting weight was 132 which is about 7 pounds heavy for me. I had been at 16lbs down but got sick at the start of this cycle and lost another 3 without trying. The combo of the sudden weight loss and illness is prob what threw it off...

Oh and I have been on the Vitex since Nov 1. This is the first cycle to be off. My pre-O temps were abnormally high too this month.

I think you need to stop the vitex BEFORE you expect to O. I found that sometimes with vitex, I wouldn't O until I stopped it, and once I stopped it I was Oing within 1-3 days afterwards.

I would personally have you stop the vitex, do double release from now till attempt, and try this month because of your weight loss.

I would not have you gain any weight at this point, just hold steady where you're at. It's much better to eat more cals and hold steady than gain to relose!!!

next month, jsut stop the vitex a day or so before when you expect/want to O. Have DH stop licorice root at 2 weeks regardless of whether you Oed. Licorice root MUST be taken 2 W on, 2 W off regardless of when you O.

being ill could also delay OV

sometimes i would have a delayed O with the vitex, i did last cycle even though i had stopped taking it but i also was fighting a cold. i would stop taking it and see what happens. if nothing else it could just be one of those cycles we all get where we just don't O that month. stress, trying to soon after a m/c or chemical, illness, lossing or gaining weight too quickly. could all screw with your cycle days. if all else fails you still have to only wait a few weeks to try again. good luck.

I don´t think you should discharge this month yet. It happened to so many of us girl swayers that ovulation came after all, a week later or so. When you get a pos OPK DH could do compressed FR if he can do that.
Having a wacky cycle may be a good thing for a girl sway and skipping this month means at least another 4 weeks on the LE diet..

My temp was still low this morning so no O yet. Used the last stupid digital OPK last night and guess what, got an error message! I have had nothing but trouble with those. It was the darkest one yet though. Ended up doing compressed FR with 2 more attempts - one last night and one this morning. Only bad thing is that last night after 2 releases on his own, poor DH had trouble getting things done and depsite my best efforts, I had the big O. Arrrggghh. This whole month has been a mess. Seriously, I am done now. Stopped the Vitex yesterday. Just have to let it go for this month. I am not buying new OPKs until AF comes. Will keep temping and stay on the diet and see what happens...

Well, I have a true + OPK. FINALLY! Ended up buying the cheapos again and when it was +, double checked it with the pricey digital - got a smiley. So, guess we will see what happens! I had already bought progesterone cream and this whacko cycle confirms to me that I am going to use it as soon as I see my temps go up. (hopefully tomorrow morning it will be up!) Especially since I would otherwise be expecting AF in just about 8 or 9 days from now. I am not making any more attempts. Guess, I'll see...

unfortuntely, I think it was all a false gear up with no O. Weirdest month ever! I had about 24 hours of def+ opks on cd 17 and 18. The temp started to rise on cd18 jut to about where the coverline would be but was the same temp on day 19 i am on cd20 now and it went down by .1 degree! Weird though that for the 1st time this cycle, my cm and cervix felt like typical post o yesterday. Still feels post o. Def different than on cd17. I did stop the vitex on cd16 after taking it continuously for almost 4 mo. Not sure if it would be possible that I did o but the loss of vitex suddenly is keeping my temps lower? Doubt it though...

I had the same experience this month. Trying to figure out what to do. I wasn't on vitex, just SP.....I am due for AF tomorrow and BFN on all tests, so I'm out. My weight loss is similar to favorite, so we'll see what this next month will be.

You never know about the vitex, that does not seem unreasonable to me that stopping either vitex or SP might have an effect on temps. We'll know soon enough! KFX that this is just a bump in the road.

You know, I am not sure. I think that I did O but I also started the progesterone cream so I am not sure if that would make my temps go up. I am currently about to be on CD29. No AF yet. I stopped the vitex on cd16 and by my cervix and cm I thought I O'd on CD17 but FF did not register it until CD20 so I have no idea. Started the progesterone cream on CD18 when my temp seemed to go up a little bit so don't know if the progesterone cream would be enough to raise my temps?? I guess I am going to wait until cd34 and if I don't get AF by then, I will stop the cream. (assuming HPT neg) I am going to test tomorrow if my temp stays up but I really don't feel pregnant.

Well I am either having an implantation dip or AF is coming. I think it is the latter because I don't at all "feel" pregnant. It also doesn't feel like AF is coming so who knows... Was going to test today but with the temp dip I didn't want to waste a test. Continues to be the weirdest... month.... ever...

I do think you should test tho, certainly before you stop the prog cream!!

Still no AF... on CD32 which is really late for me (typically a 27 day cycle) but should be late I would think due to late O. (Temps are weird -if I did O it is between days 17-20) I have been having cramps but nothing else and temps are still above cover line but not a lot. Took a test on Sat that was neg and I don't feel pregnant.

Guess I am still not sure when to stop the progesterone cream. Would you wait until AF decides to show up or stop it now or when?

AF won't show if you don't stop the prog. Test again and then if it's negative, stop the cream.

Luckily, AF showed in full force so here we go again!
