Regular coke/soda
I can't drink diet soda, it's just too gross to me (anything w aspertame really). So I only drink regular soda, mostly dr. pepper but I like coca cola too, and about 2-3 cans a day. Sometimes I drink them before my meal to hold me over since I only eat twice, sometimes once a day. But I read drinking regular soda isn't good on its own, should be with meals, which I do too. Why is regular soda not good by itself?

I can't answer your question - but for me it was a matter of getting used to drinking sugar free. Coke zero and Pepsi max are the best ones. I can't drink Diet coke, though.
Just out of curiosity, are you getting calories enough with just two meals?

Honestly no, my caloric intake is slightly lower than recommended when I only have 1 meal a day and I'm a couple lbs lighter. I try to stay in 1200-1500 range but a few days in the last week it has been lower than that as I'm trying to keep my blood sugar low for as long as I can by skipping full meals. But it really hasnt been a much of a struggle to do it although I don't recommend it.

It raises your blood sugar between meals. We want our blood sugar to be low for as long out of the day as we can, hence the no snacking rule. :)
You CAN drink diet pop between meals, just have your sugar pop WITH a meal.

that having been said, if you're eating 1 or 2 meals a day, then ABSOLUTELY you CAN drink a pop alone by itself in lieu of a meal. I did this when I was swaying with DD a few times.
I do want you to be sure you're getting enough fat, sod, pot, and protein tho - pop is a good way to get some cals but that's about it.
