Ah, I am greatly relieved to see that others doubt this story too. Other doctors chime in at end of story to say they have their doubts too. Woman Who Became Pregnant While Already Pregnant Opens Up - Us Weekly
I saw this on one if our news programmes and was wondering how that was possible. Glad I am not the only one who thought it was strange.
Apparently the whole thing is based on the one twin 'looking more developed' at birth.
anyone who's ever given birth to twins knows there is usually a bigger one and a smaller one.
Bad medicine. Bad journalism.
I am a twin and this was the case with my sister and I. I was a lot bigger at birth and we looked months apart growing up.
I only saw the headline and thought the whole story was silly.
My hubby is a twin and he was a lot smaller than his brother. He has always been the skinny one growing up and his brother os more solid. They are fraternal so it would be like if I had my boys as twins as one is skinny and the other is solid.
My twins on 6 week ultrasound were measuring exactly the same. By my 12-week scan they measured 6 days different in size and the size difference between them kept getting bigger. I had ultrasounds every 2-3 weeks and I’d occasionally get a tech that would tell me they were conceived days to weeks apart because of their size difference.
Wow thanks Bunny - it's pretty obvious when so many absolutely 110% know by virtue of having done IVF or having had regular scans that their twins are the exact same age and yet vary in terms of size/development what is really going on here! Thanks for sharing your experience!
