TTC, Grapefruit help please!

hi atomic, i have started my fertility testing journey :( but determined to get a bfp before gets to far..
as i tend to be overally paranoid my cm isnt helping.. please can you tell me, in your opinion which Grapefruit option would be most beneficial for ewcm / better cm etc based on nutrition.

and to add is it any grapefruit that does ewcm? as i am a bit confused.. some people say ruby red, pink etc?

Any grapefruit juice is supposed to work as long as it's 100% juice and not a cocktail

Many "grapefruit juices" including what we call in America "RubyRed" are NOT 100% juice and are blended with water and corn syrup. Now, they're not BAD and are certainly more palatable, but they may not have the same juju as 100% grapefruit juice has. The links you posted, I looked at a few and they seemed fine, a couple I could not see the ingredients.

Anything without added juices or corn syrup shoudl be ok. Pink, white, red, whatever.

I wanted to ask you one last question.. im sure it doesnt matter but, in respect to check cervical mucus (using finger) for fertile period etc.. should you make sure you dont do it before bd? How long before is max you should check time wise before bd?
Sorry! I just worry for example checking directly before bd could "remove" that fertile cm & it not have time to replenish? Thank You! :)

I don't think you guys should EVER do it. There is no benefit to it, it's really unreliable for pinpointing ovulation/fertile window, it causes irritation and bleeding, and worst case it can introduce microbes that can cause uterine infections (and around ovulation when your cervix is already open and your pH is higher due to the EWCM, it's the perfect environment for microbes to grow. Please leave the cervix alone. It's not meant to be messed with.

Grapefruit is supposed to inprove ewcm? I've got a tree in my yard so could include this. How often should you have the juice Atomic? At what time of the cycle? Leading to O I assume?

I don't think it's in any way a magic bullet (personally, I think it's way more about drinking more and keeping hydrated than any magic property of grapefruit - I suspect orange juice works just as well or even water TBH) and in your case, Mia, I think you'd need to have a very serious convo with your doc AND pharmacist (not or, because pharmacists know stuff docs don't!) before adding it in. Grapefruit can interfere with the way a lot of medications in the body are metabolized and since you have to take your meds, I don't want you to do grapefruit without having an indepth convo with someone who takes it SERIOUSLY - not just someone who waves it off and says "ok ok" I mean someone who goes over all your meds and checks for interactions with grapefruit.

And in fact that's the case for EVERYONE reading this post!! Grapefruit interacts with lots of meds, so please always check with doc/pharmacist before adding it in.

Thanks for the specific advice Atomic. If the grapefruit adds little/nothing to improve ewcm, particularly if oj or water can achieve the same thing, then it doesn't seem necessary going down this route.
