Hoping for a girl
Hi everyone-
I’m pregnant for the fifth time(hopefully third living baby) with another rainbow baby!
I have two boys and am really hoping our sway worked for a girl.
Anyway- just for fun and out of curiosity my hcg levels have been on the higher side.
4 weeks- 772
4 weeks, 2 days- 1770
5 weeks- 18,000
6 weeks- 64,000.
I read somewhere that higher hcg could mean girl.
Anyone have any input from your own experiences?
Thanks!

I don't think it's reliable, but here's a thread on it. https://www.genderdreaming.com/forum...ys-gender.html

Thanks for responding!
I think that link is for a thread of later measures during the nuchal fold test? These are just my early blood draws to make sure hcg was doubling and monitor progesterone levels.
I’m sure it’s not so reliable- was just curious if anyone had any experience/input.
I truly don’t care if I have a boy or a girl- I just want a healthy baby but after two boys and two losses that were girls I am hoping for a girl.

Hmm I thought there was something about that somewhere in there. Sorry.
It's an average. So it's like height, when scientists look across the population they think they see a trend where higher HCG = girls, but like averages, you can have outliers (lots of them) like a tall woman or a short man, and most will fall in the middle range anyway. If you had a person who was 5-5 you could guess with some confidence but no certainty that it was a woman, if they were 6-5 you could guess with some confidence but no certainty that it was a man, but then you have someone who is 5-8 or 5-11 and you'd really not be able to know their gender. Plus, this doesn't take into account that we are never too sure about gestation and a day or two off in either direction can change what the HCG levels "should" be, making a number that seems high actuaally be normal or even low. :)
I hope you get your girl! Good luck!
