When should I have DH start FR?

Our attempt will be in september but I am not sure when I should have him start doing FR to lower his sperm count. I kind of want him to try and see what he can do. He thinks it will be no problem for him to FR. I was going to have to do it everyday then the day of our attempt I was going to have him do it on his own then we DTD on the second "batch". but Now I am wondering if I should have him FR twice a day... any thoughts anyone?

I believe it's 7-10 days before your attempt.

It depends on your dh, I think. There's no way my dh could have done it twice a day for 7 days - believe me, even once a day got old FAST (and that was with me helping him along). I think Zanacal had her hubby release twice a day, but that was because she discovered he was a habitual once a day releaser already and wanted to make sure things were sufficiently different from when she'd conceived her boys. I hope I'm remembering all that correctly!

7-10 days before your first attempt.

With straight FR, I don't think it's at all necessary to do more than one release, even on the day of your attempt. It's up to you, but it may lower odds of conception by quite a bit.

Like Mocha said, the exception is a guy who already releases every day and has still fathered several boys while doing so. That guy may need to bump it up a notch with the FR. But if your husband is an average guy who releases 2-4 times a week, 7-10 days in a row will be quite a change for him anyway.

Thanks everyone. I know he doesn't release everyday. I know from time to time he does it on his own when I am not feeling up to DTD. We will just do the FR everyday and see how that goes.
