Had my 8 week scan the other day measured exactly 8 wks. she said it looked like the placenta wass going to form on the same side of where the baby is. This was an abdominal ultrasound so baby looks like its on right in scan but its my left. not that it looks like a baby! heart was beating at 165bpm.

YAY... U/S is automatically flipped image so that makes it the left side!
LEFT IS SUPPOSED TO MEAN GIRL! I've felt nothing but left-sided activity and pain during conception so we'll see!

I had the placenta on the right side and conceived a boy, so left van be girl. GL

Thanks. Hopefully booking my 12 week scan tomorrow. Will be one or two days shy of 13 weeks. I want to know but don't want to if you know what i mean. Will not be finding out at 20 wk scan as i want a surprise. I not really bothered by gender as much as what i was with ds 2. I will be happy either way but still love trying to figure it out.
