With the diet, is there a reason the diet is needed other than changing PH? What is you have a perfect PH for the gender you are aiming for already?
We are TTC a girl. My CM PH is almost always 4.5 for the last 2 months. It does get to about 6 right before O (when I have EWCM) but I don't DTD then. We aim for O+12. Plus now that I'm on clomid even my "fertile" days before O I still have PH of 4.5.
My husband on the other hand has a PH of NINE. And we tried the diet and supplements with him (and will continue to do so) BUT his PH is still nine, so the diet doesn't seem to do anything for him. Unless there is a point to the diet ASIDE from PH?
I am a little worried because I tried the diet and I started getting chest pains, so I stopped the diet and the pain went away. Could have been a coincidence. Doctor told me not to go on anymore crash diets. (Of course I didn't feel comfortable telling her why I was on the diet). (At first I thought it was the Clomid, but it went away when I started eating normal again.)
But from what I heard diet is the most important sway factor. Then is it hopeless for me, or will I be okay since my PH is already low?
PS to anyone on the diet: don't let my experience put you off; I have other medical problems and the diet I think was affecting that, and a normal healthy person without my health problems won't have that problem. I know a LOT of people who use the girl diet without any problems at all.

Gender Swaying Diet -- Is there a point besides PH?

You can sway pink with Vitex, RepHresh, and or SYLK.
I did not diet..and I took extra calcium, mag, and B50 complex combined with - ion stuff.
I'm not the normal pink sway though.
Feel free to go to my profile..previous threads...and my Vitex journeys.
I conceived my very first cycle of vitex but lost my baby due to dangerously low thyroid levels that i was unaware of.
Since your doc says to forego dieting..perhaps for health reasons you should.Last edited by Butterfly Spirit; September 9th, 2012 at 08:33 PM.

I am so sorry for your loss
Glad to hear of someone else who swayed without the diet. So it's all about PH, right? The diet doesn't serve a role other than that? I use RepHresh afterward to bring my PH back down as needed because my husband's sample brings my PH up, but before it's always 4.5. (We also do TBM so we can add lime juice to his sample to lower PH first)

It's not all about pH, no. Your body's pH cannot vary or you will die. Where your calories come from, your lifestyle leading up to your sway, etc can all affect the outcome. If you check out some of the swaying essays, it might provide some guidance. If it was simply pH, Shettles would have nailed this whole GS thing with the old school douche!

If I were you, I'd stick to a low-er cal diet, reduce or eliminate red meat, eat three small carby meals a day (but don't snack) ie: salad with egg whites or crackers and low fat cheese, small bowl of semolina porridge for breakfast, big bowl of veg and if you need some protein maybe grilled fish etc. If you reduce your quantities and eat light foods and lose a few kgs, you might have the same sort of luck with diet, because the clomid will sway, weightloss will sway, and a change in eating habits will sway. That's what I would do if it were me (although I don't know what your health issues are, so forgive me if I'm way off the mark!)
I'm sure atomic would be happy to help you work out your diet. She's the one to ask really.... Good luck xx

I'd love to read this, but I'm new here:
Inky, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?

Could you please tell me what it says? I am glad there is actually information that explains what the diet is about. I always assumed it was PH.

If there is a way I can do it without it hurting my health issues more, I will try again.
Here is what I was doing before:
Skipping breakfast.
Yogurt for lunch around 12.
Pasta later with salt free butter and a little Parmesan cheese around 4.
Chicken around dinner time (6 or so)
I was also drinking 3 glasses of milk a day and the rest of the time if I was thirsty I drank crystal light or propel fitness water.
the diet didn't bother me because I don't each much anyway. I've skipped breakfast all my life. I AMthe heaviest I've been recently though. (I'm 5'4, 129 lbs, which is 19lbs over my usual weight, and this relates to recent medical problems too,and my doctor says it's actually from not eating ENOUGH calories.I do eat less now than I used to, but I haven't had an appetite, so I have to be reminded to eat as it is. Go figure I eat less and weigh more.
The weight loss fact is interesting though! I conceived both my boys at my lowest weight (My 1st son I conceived at 105lbs my second son I conceived at 103.) My daughter I conceived while breastfeeding, 3 months after I had my son, so I think I was about 115 when I conceived her.
I'd like to lose some weight before getting pregnant anyway, so if I can get the diet to work without getting chest pains again, I will try it.
