Hi ladies!
We don't plan to TTC until next year, but was wondering if breastfeeding tends to sway a certain way? If we intend to sway for boy, should I wait until we stop BF? How many months before would you suggest? Thanks so much!

Really? Drats!
CSA, bf'ing sways pink because it reduces your fertility somewhat. Whether you can conceive while bf'ing is individual, it can vary quite a bit, but generally speaking if you're getting regular AF then odds are you're fertile. No way of knowing for sure until you track your cycle or TTC of course. The rule of thumb is if the kid's older than 6 months, mostly on solids, and bf'ing regularly more than 4-6 hours apart then you should be fully fertile. I would think if you want to have a strong boy sway you might want to wait till you're fully weaned, but I still think you could sway blue quite strongly with diet to make up for the bf'ing.
My concern is that bf'ing produces prolactin which can interfere with progesterone and cause luteal phase issues, and I tend to have a borderline luteal phase anyways (avg 10-12 days).Last edited by LacePrincess; October 2nd, 2012 at 02:32 PM.

Wow, so interesting! I'm still bf'ing every 3-4 hours, but we're not actively trying at this time. Still haven't got my AF yet! :/ Planning ahead for next year. Thank you so much!

We've had people get boys and girls while BF, so if it sways (probably sways pink for the reasons Lace mentioned) it ain't by much. I got one boy and one girl while BF.
