    Safe while breastfeeding?

Found answer thanks anyway. I should have searched more before asking.

I have been reading up on Vitex and have read a few times that it is not safe while breastfeeding even though it can help your supply. Then the next site I go to says it is safe. So is it safe while breastfeeding? My little girl is only 15 weeks old so before I start taking it I want to make sure as she is totally reliant on my breastmilk.

In some sites it says to take B6 instead but Atomic said to drop the B6 from my sway. I am just making sure before I start.

I believe vitex to be safe when BF and I've taken it twice. I would not nurse a very small baby under 9 months while on vitex, however. It's not that it's not safe, it's just that it hasn't been adequately studied.

I wouldn't take the B6, I think it sways blue and I conceived my boy while taking B6 and my girl taking none (both while BF)

I have 2 sons, 31 months and 8.5 months. I never got my period while nursing DS1 even at 10 months when he was down to 4 times a day (none at night). I stopped and got my periods back and conceived ds2 quickly and before I realized I was really wanting to (or could) sway for a girl. Now DS2 is 8.5 months and I would like to continue nursing because of MSPI issues. But I want to ttc a girl and am not getting periods. The only thing I have read that may help is vitex. I'm not completely sure if it is safe while breastfeeding. Also, I am worried about the low everything diet as I am 5'4'' and 125lb and already get low sugar/ low iron shakes at 11am after eating a big bowl of cereal at 8am!

    Hi and welcome!!

NEVER stop breastfeeding for swaying. YOu can do both. Here are the guides to TTC and swaying while breastfeeding.

The reason you are getting the shakes after eating cereal is because cereal can cause your blood sugar to spike and then drop. A lot of us find that shakiness from low blood sugar gets better on LE Diet over the course of time. Iron does NOT cause shakiness. You shouldn't eat breakfast or cereal while on LE, anyway.

Thanks for all the links! I am new to navigating through forums and have never posted.

I think I am going to work on getting my cycles to return (vitex once DS2 is 9 months and healthy eating) and then begin a pink sway once fertility is returned or once DS2 turns 1 and I wean him (if I haven't become fertile by then).

Both my sons were due on the 5th of the month (although DS1 was 4 days late and DS2 was 4 days early!) so maybe I'll try the vitex from 5th-20th of the month before O or 'practice o.'
