I am just wondering is dieting in the 2WW important? If so why is it? isn't the baby gender already determined by then?

Our family is now complete - no more babies for us. We didn't get our girl but I wouldn't trade my boys for the world, so in love.

It's also because female blastocysts (or whatever they're called at that stage!) develop better in a low glucose environment. So keeping blood sugar low is important for the 2ww.
There is a more detailed and more articulate explanation somewhere, let me see if I can find it ...

the sex of the baby is determined as soon as the egg and sperm meet, correct? its just a matter of giving the female a better chance of survival at ov. and 2ww...it's not that if diet changes or becomes more healthy, the sex will change to a boy, right? LOL..i'm really stupid lol...

not stupid at all, I feel like I'm always asking so many questions.
i guess from a nutritional point of view, it is better to start pre-natals etc at ovulation, but then you miss a week on the LE diet if you aren't successful that month.
the sex is determined at point of sperm meeting egg yes, and yes, if egg is fertilised by a female or xx sperm, it will have greater chance of sticking if in a low sugar environment (a boy or xy sperm will find it harder to survive in a low sugar environment).
i guess low sugar is a different thing to upping the nutrient values.
i totally see where you're coming from. i'd hate to think the first two weeks post fertilisation, my fertisilised egg is getting little nutrition. BUT it will mean you're off the diet for two weeks (thinking about if you're not pregnant).
basically, i don't know ... sure atomic will be on soon to impart her words of wisdom and thoughts!
sorry!! (i am also very keen to know the 'answer')

Ipadmad, thank you! I can't wait to hear what Atomic has to say either! I am planning on taking a break from diet if I don't get pregnant this month. i've lost too much weight already and gaining weight is not good for pink sway...I think I would have to start over, at a later time

Oh, well in that case, I can't see why you can't up nutrients (I'm prepared to be corrected though, as I genuinely don't know!)
BUT keep low sugar until BFP or AF.
FX crossed for you.
I ovulate in a couple of days, we did our final BD this morning. It's only our first month, but it's so draining isn't it. Good luck!

Thank you! I am really desperate to get pregnant this month, even though it's my first month ttc. I just started diet way early and didn't realize how fast I would loose the weight. on top of it I naturally have low BS. so I can't take any more of this lol. I hope to god all this pays off. you can't imagine how much I want a baby girl
..
we'll see what happens. I ovulate in about 6 days. I am planning on BD right after a positive OPK. hope that's good 'timing' for pregnancy. as I hear it doesn't sway pink or blue, so we'll see.
did you post your sway?
I hope the best for you as well! good luck w/ everything2008
