Is "cuttoff" the same as the Shettles Method?

I see a lot of reference to doing a "cutoff"...which I associate with the Shettles Method. But I'm guessing its a reference to something else since the majority of people on this site seem to follow the idea that timing doesn't sway. So...what do people mean when they say they're doing a "cutoff"?? Confused...

    It's shettles based.

Most who want to do cutoff are doing so simply to avoid self doubt if they get an opposite. Not because they're convinced it *will* work.

I'm doing cut off this month (i.e. cut off 3 days before ovulating), only because DH is away with work during the critical time!

Next cycle, we're just going to BD up to and through ovulation though.

yes, it's affiliated with the Shettles method. Some people use it in different ways. Basically, it means cutting off intercourse at some point prior to O. For Shettles, that would be 2-3 days before or even more.

Some people use it to mean cutting off intercourse at an pos OPK, but that's not Shettles timing.
