So we bd friday evening and Saturday evening.
I got a positive opk Sunday at 1pm. DH tried last night but couldn't finish (too much fr and he isn't that well).
So we bd Monday evening at 8pm. But the opk line was fainter than the control.
I'm working out shortest time is 12 hours from opk to ovulating, egg is then viable for another 12 hours. This would mean 31 hours is too long, possibly.
So essentially forgetting the others, we bd 31 hours after positive opk. Is there any chance from that? I've also had Ewcm today too (Monday). Thanks

I think it is definitely possible. Ovulation happens 12-24 hours after an opk. Were you taking your temp? You ewcm is a very positive sign that you were still viable.

No, I don't take my temp.
I sort of feel that bd 15 hours before the positive opk migh be more likely.
It's that 'agh, have I done enough?' fear when you realise your attempts are over for the cycle isn't it!

There is no real way to know from opk+ how long after it you o'd unless you temp or you can read your body signs really well. If you caught the end of the lh spike it could be less than 12 hours (cause it could have spiked night time the day before for example). For some women its as long as 36 to 48 hours after opk+ to o. Most womens eggs hang around for 12 hours, some up to 24 hours but age and condition can effect this. Some ewcm days before o and days after, others right at o only. Pretty much everyone is different.
I still think you have a good chance as even if you o'd early you'd have a 24hr cut off from the sat, if you o'd late, then you caught it with the monday night, there is also a chance (although he didn't finish) that he released some sperm during the sunday bd. Either way i think you are still in with a good chance at a bfp.

Hmm, waiting for 31 hours after your first +OPK doesn't maximize chances, but certainly you still have a chance.
It likely puts you at O+1 territory which isn't as fertile as O-1. Even O day itself isn't as likely as O-1 because the sperm takes awhile to swim up, and they also require a chemical process to ready themselves to penetrate the egg. So if you bd after the egg arrives the chances aren't very high, because by the time the sperm are ready the egg is likely not viable.
FX for you this month! You should think about trying temping next month if you don't get your bfp, charting helps you a lot to see what's going on. GL!Me (38) and DH (38)

Lace, we did also bd Friday and Saturday night too. I am just kicking myself that we didn't totally finish off Sunday, which is the day i got the positive opk. I'm not sure if DH did or not really, he thought he had, but then was unsure as I didn't feel anything when I went for a wee 5 mins later (sorry tmi!).
Hopefully one of the attempts made it.
The reason I don't chart is because I'm often up in the night for ds2 as he needs resettling. I also get up at a different time each day. I will try to chart next month though, see if I can. I am also slightly obsessing about it all and charting will give me another obsession!

Agh, I've got EWCM a bit this morning too <seriously this is why I should temp to clarify this, but also the reason why I shouldn't as I am a serious obsessive!> [smile]

LOL, yes typical boy mom obsessing!
I hear you, temping is difficult with little ones around. You can always try just charting CM/CP that'll be better than nothing. Or if the little guy gets up at the same time everynight you can temp since your interruptions are at a 'regular' time so it means your morning time would all be affected by the same amount, if that makes sense.
If you still have EWCM you probably either haven't O'ed or O'ed in only the last 12 hours or so. My cervix/fluid takes about 12-16 hours to dry up and close up but of course you might be totally different. EWCM for days after is usually a sign that you haven't O'ed.
I'm with you on DH not having anything left! This month we're taking out frequency entirely. I know from our history we're not all that fertile, and we certainly aren't younger, lol. I think for my DH that all this FR is just too draining and I've been on the LE diet for a long time now so we're just skipping the FR entirely.Me (38) and DH (38)
