Can someone tell me if this is okay

Hey, I'm TTC a girl... or girl twins.

    This is my diet:

    Noodles with cream cheese
Lots of 1% fat milk, with the lowest protein and sodium I could find
    Hard cheese
    Calcium and magnesium supps
300mg of dispersable aspirin & cranberry supps*
Chicken with a bit of self made yoghurt and paprika sauce
    Rice pudding
    Frozen yoghurt
    Plain yoghurt
    Chicken spring rolls
    Diet caffeine free cola
    Slices of edam
    Vitex supps - I took 2,400 mg a day days 2 - 7
Soy isoflavones supps day 1-6 (want twins) - I took 200mg a day
    cauliflower cheese
Bits of choccy now and again
    Unsalted almonds, cashews and walnuts
    & obviously folic acid

*because of losing my daughter due to a placental abruption and retrograde clot, they told me to take aspirin when ttc and I told them about cranberry supps and they said it would help blood thinning, so that's okay

I am on CD 8 now and I had a daughter last time (she passed away, as above) and I was on a lazier diet then and got pregnant first cycle. I am on third cycle TTC now. I am doing no cut off as I don't believe that sperm are significantly different.

I had a boy first, over three years ago now.

Do you think my diet is okay?

    so sorry for your loss
I think the diet would sway because it's incredibly low in nutrients/vitamins, but because of this it wouldn't be healthy to do long term so please get pregnant ASAP on it! only thing I might add for you to think about is this: the calcium conundrum - CONTROVERSIAL

    Hi Rainbow, welcome to GD.

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss.

Your diet isn't at all the LE diet. Are you trying to follow the IG diet? Because the LE diet here is very, very different. You have too much protein on that list - a lot of cheese, chicken, and nuts. The LE diet is recommended to stay within 40-50 grams of protein a day and your list would blow that easily.

In fact, your diet is almost leaning into blue territory, to be honest. Almost nothing on that list is a big part of the LE diet. Calmag is discouraged for a pink sway too.

I would ask you to please read this thread to start: http://genderdreaming.com/forum/tryi...l-version.html

To summarize, you want to aim for low calorie (1500-1800 is a good starting range), low protein, low nutrient diet. Most of us go vegetarian and simple carbs as a mainstay, otherwise it's too difficult to stay under the protein limit. Meals only 2-3 times a day and ideally no breakfast. No snacks at all. We recommend being on the LE diet for 6 weeks before attempting TTC. Losing weight is good for pink although if you're already on the thin side it's also ok to maintain current weight while doing LE diet style foods.

Hey, thanks for replies... no I did look at IG - I followed a lot of the girl diet there around the time I conceived my boy (no sway, didn't care). I made up my own diet last year of things full of calcium and magnesium. My sway worked because even though she passed away, she was still a girl.

I don't eat all of these daily. I only drink skimmed milk because I hate full fat! I've had a cheat day today, because I'm feeling a bit down so I cheered myself up with ice cream!

Anyway, for a day I would eat: No brekkie, a small bag of cashews for lunch and cheesy noodles for dinner. Plus I have my supplements and a couple of glasses of skimmed milk.

The next day I would eat: no brekkie (always a no-go anyway), a chicken breast with a bit of yoghurt and paprika and a couple of spring rolls for my dinner.

I can't cope doing it for six weeks, I end up feeling ill. I'm only small but I end up feeling faint. I'd rather end up with a boy than make myself ill, I wouldn't like to either not end up pregnant or end up losing it. I get rid of the diet on day 16 until day 28. Day 1 I start the diet.

On the LE diet, I consumed less sodium daily with that and ended up with a boy. I have no idea what contains potassium besides bananas, which I don't like.

So am I going over daily levels?

Oh and also, I never consumed any dairy when conceiving my son, because my sister is allergic to it and I was eating the same as her at the time. x

Rainbow, have a look at the sticky threads on this site, as the food you're eating isn't sticking to LE guidelines. Nuts and chicken are high in protein. LE is all about low protein / low calories / low fat.

It's totally up to you what diet you choose of course, there is LE, IG, the French diet and I'm sure a lot of others! They do all contradict each other to an extent, because nothing is proven and I sort of get the impression (from my very limited time here!), that it's very very complicated range of factors influencing gender. Have a scoot through this site, the different forums and you will find bags and bags of information. It really is worth taking the time to digest it all (pardon the pun!) and read up on it, to see if it works for you. It's totally down to personal preference and reading up the pros and cons of each.

I'm personally doing the diet through myfitnesspal.com and tracking my calories (recommendation is 1500 - 1800 a day, though I'm managing on about 1300 and maintaining my weight at moment), protein and fat (can't remember the recommended limits here - but mine is about 30g a day for each).

Therefore as long as you are in the right ranges, you can eat any foods. Its about getting your body to think that 'times are tough' for you and nutritionally, that's about the minimum required levels of protein/fat/calories to be healthy / ovulate.

I don't eat any meat or fish, very limited cheese (like an ounce of cheddar once a week). I get all my protein from pasta, fat free yoghurt, low fat creme fraiche, bit of humous. I also eat courgettes, mushrooms, leeks + other bits of veg. Lots of yoghurt, salt free bread, low fat wraps and loads of Skittles!

I'm not sure if my rambling is helping - please do read the FAQ / 'sticky' threads on here, even if just to find out more about the rationale behind it all.

I am SO sorry for your loss. How devastating.

I think that if it worked for you once before, you should go with what your gut and heart are telling you on that. We've been having good luck without the cal-mag and with lower protein vegetarian, but people have had success with a more French-style diet. It's still a restrictive diet and restrictive diets sway pink, even if it's not totally in line with LE Diet.

The amount and pattern of when you're eating really puts you close in line with LE Diet even tho the foods may not be identical. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/tryi...l-version.html
