If you read through info on this site, it shows that there really isn't any evidence that timing sways. Plenty of people have conceived girls by BDing close to and on the day of ovulation. If you have other things right, diet and antihistimane etc then those things will sway for you. Dr. Shettles has been debunked.

I'm new to the GD methods of swaying but I agree with Violet, I don't think timing matters. Good luck!

Agree with above for sure! Timing doesn't sway and frequency barely sways. If you want to be conservative just go for it once tonight, but if you want a better chance at getting preggo then bd daily until you see your temp shift.

Thanks everyone, ended up that my hubby got a bad case of the stomach flu, so we didn't DTD and he's still not feeling well today. So I think we're going to hope for the best this attempt. Do you guys know how long I have to keep up the LE diet?
If we don't get a BFP this month then I think I'll skip the holidays and start up again after that. Would I be able to do the LE diet through the end of this week, and then over the weekend be able to eat holiday food. Friday night starts all of the holiday parties at work.
FYI - I'm 35 so i don't know if that matters for how long my egg is viable after O.

Poor DH! Hope he feels better soon.

It's recommended to do the LE diet for 6 weeks before you TTC for best effect, and then obviously however long it takes you after that. If you end up going awhile without a bfp (like 6+ months) you'll want to be careful you don't start getting anemic or otherwise malnourished if you're on a very limited range of foods.

Being a little older (not old! ) I wouldn't count on your egg living more than 12 hours. So you really want to aim for O-1 and O day as your best chances.

I think that was a good attempt illini - sorry I wasn't able to comment before you had to make your decison.

Best to keep up diet for the full 2 weeks but since you're not TTC next month anyway, do it for 7 days after ovulation to ensure that XX has the best environment for development.

    thanks everyone,
so i had a bad food day, i ate breakfast had a business lunch and then snacked a bit. In addition to that, I test my saliva with fertile focus each morning and this morning is had crystals which means i'm fertile. So confused because +opk was over 72 hours ago. And the last time we DTD was 96 hours ago. No way DH sperm are still alive.

Depresses me, and what do i do when i'm depressed...eat so not good for LE diet.

Have you done another OPK? If the OPK is + too then the last one was probably a fakeout LH surge. It happens.

Do try not to snack though! Don't sweat that one cheat day, it's ok, but try not to make it a habit. I've never done the saliva/ferning thing so I can't comment on that. But you weren't doing abstain anyways, right? You can always BD again if you have another +OPK.

One cheat here and there doesn't hurt anything.

I would try for a hurry up FR - have DH release once, dump it, then DTD again as quickly as you can and use only the second batch for insemination.
