I'm anxiously awaiting a +OPK. I'm on day 12 (always have 28-29 days cycles so assuming O day is always around 14th, max 15th) and I still haven't seen anything. I'm testing anywhere around 11-12 and again between 6-9.
How early do you specifically get your +OPK? Is it only 8 hours before, 10, 12, 24, 36 etc? This is my first month taking them ever and I haven't been tracking my temps, just relying on the test and a few other signs. I'm worried I'm going to miss the peak overnight, is that possible?
I just want to get my attempt in!!! I'm starting to wonder if I should just go for it tomorrow after lunch as that's halfway through day 13... Help!

some people do get a very short surge.. most people have a days worth
also, some people get best results in the afternoon/evening (as this is when the hormone is said to be most concentrated in the pee) although personally I got best results using FMU
towards mid-cycle a lot of people test twice a day - morning and evening
if you have a "normal" luteal phase length (time from OV to AF) you would expect OV to be around CD14 or 15, but if it's shorter than average you might not ovulate until later than that

I've never had mine appear out of nowhere, they get progressively darker and I usually have a +on day 12 and 13 and then ovulate day 14. I tend to test early afternoon 1-3ish.

I think it depends on the type of opk you're using...for digitals, they appear out of nowhere. The ones with lines fade in & out - from my understanding. As long as you keep checking twice a day, you'll catch it.

Pos OPK generally occur 8-48 hours before O, avg. 36 hours. It is possible to miss a surge but most people do manage to see it.
Some people get a fade in and then others, whammo positive with no warning. Also, you can have fade ins some months and other months, just have a sudden positive. They suck and are confusing but are the best tool we have unfortunately.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!
